☆, Chapter 41: Someone Will Be Pried Away

When Wen Yuci went downstairs, the living room was empty.

Looking at the closed door outside the living room, a trace of loneliness flashed across his eyes.

He sat on the chair, tilting his head and fiddling with the teacup.

He slowly opened his phone and clicked on the dialog box with Shu Wanning, typed a line of words and deleted it, repeating this process over and over again.

The servant brought a new pot of hot tea and placed it on the table, saying respectfully, "The young lady said you should go to the garden to find her when you are done."

She...didn't leave?

He put away his phone, stood up, raised his eyes slightly, and strode towards the garden.

When he saw the figure on the bench from afar, the loneliness in his eyes was replaced by joy.

Shu Wanning was staring at the koi in the pond, lost in thought, when someone suddenly sat down next to him.

She glanced at the corner of his clothes and asked, "Grandma is asleep?"

"They've all left, why are you still waiting here?"

The answer is not relevant to the question.

Shu Wanning gathered her coat and replied softly, "They've all gone home. I... don't even have a home."

The cold was severe outside at night, and the fog gradually settled, making it look like it was going to rain.

Wen Yuci reached out and took her hand, pulled her up and said, "Let's go, Mrs. Wen, it's time to go home."

He pulled her through the corridor and out of the gate of the old house. In the car, he took off his coat and put it on her.

As the gate of the old house grew farther and farther away, Shu Wanning asked, "Does Grandma like Chinese style?"

Wen Yuci shook his head: "No, grandma said that it was because grandpa's father liked Chinese-style decoration, so he was the one who took care of the old house from the inside out.

"My grandparents renovated the house after they got married. My grandmother was not used to it at first, but she gradually got used to it."

Hearing this, Shu Wanning nodded. Wen Yuci glanced at her and asked, "You don't like it?"

"What does this have to do with me?"

She leaned back in her chair, slipped her phone into her pocket, and asked him, "I heard that the Shu family's business has been going badly recently. Is this what you did?"

"yes."

"fine."

When we returned to Qianyue Bay, the driver saw a car parked at the door from a distance. He slowed down and said, "Boss, there's someone in front."

Wen Yuci raised his eyes. Uncle Qiao had already called him and said that Ji Cheng was waiting at the door. He turned his head to glance at the person next to him and raised his lips and said, "Do you want to see him?"

After the driver spoke, Shu Wanning realized that the car in front was Ji Cheng's. She shook her head and said, "No."

"Stop the car ahead and I'll get off."

She didn't know what Wen Yuci was going to do, so she just opened the car window a little and tried to eavesdrop.

At the entrance of Qianyue Bay, Ji Cheng had been waiting for more than two hours. When he saw Wen Yuci's car coming back, he quickly stood up and straightened his clothes.

The car stopped in front of him. Seeing that only Wen Yuci got out, he stepped forward and asked, "Boss Wen, where is Ningning?"

"What does Mr. Ji want to see my wife about?"

"What do you mean your wife? Ningning and I are engaged, let her out quickly."

He stretched his neck to look into the car, and Wen Yuci moved to block his view.

His eyes behind the gold-rimmed glasses were smiling as he glanced indifferently at Ji Cheng's face.

He just said slowly: "Ji Cheng, you can't leave the rescue overnight, otherwise, someone will steal your business away."

"Wen Yuci!"

Unlike his anger, Wen Yuci appeared particularly dignified and refined.

He raised his hand and patted the leaves on Ji Cheng's collar and said with a smile: "Remember to call me Mrs. Wen next time we meet."

He turned around and went back into the car. Ji Cheng wanted to follow him in, but was stopped by Uncle Qiao and his men.

I could only watch the car stop in the yard and Shu Wanning step into the villa step by step.

In the living room, Wen Yuci took off his coat and threw it aside. He sat down opposite Shu Wanning and said, "I'm going to Country Y tomorrow and won't be back for the next few days. If you have anything, remember to call me."

Shu Wanning nodded, but after thinking about it, he was still worried and pointed at her phone: "Set me as an emergency contact."

Shu Wanning obediently did as he said, then put down her phone and looked at him helplessly:

"You're in Country Y. Even if something happens to me, you can't come back to save me, right?"

Wen Yuci: "I'm not the only one who can save people."

Suddenly, he saw a hint of red on her ankle.

He squatted down in front of her, grabbed Shu Wanning's hand as she tried to stop him, gently lifted up the coat she was using to cover herself, and asked, "How did you do that?"

"It's nothing, don't worry."

Wen Yuci recalled that he was not injured when he left the bar, so he must have been injured in the old house.

Thinking of something, he asked in a muffled voice, "Did I break the teacup?"

Shu Wanning didn't answer, but took out a disinfectant cotton swab from his pocket and handed it to him: "It's just a minor injury."

Wen Yuci took the cotton swab and disinfected the wound very gently, then looked up with a burning gaze.

"Feel sorry."

Shu Wanning reached out and poked his face, curving her lips: "It really doesn't matter."

The next day.

Wen Yuci left very early in the morning. On the plane, Yan Hao was telling him about the latest developments of the company run by Wen Yuanguo. When he looked up, he realized that his boss was distracted.

"boss……"

Wen Yuci came back to his senses and nodded: "Go on."

"Boss, are you missing your wife?"

Yan Hao asked him tentatively, and after receiving the boss's unfriendly look, he said with a smile: "Yan He is here, what are you worried about?"

Shu Wanning was still sleeping, and the sudden ringing of the phone startled her.

She glanced at the phone dazedly and answered it. Ye Jiahui's cheerful voice came from the other end: "Sister-in-law, let's go out and play today!"

I looked at the time and it was only seven in the morning.

Shu Wanning turned over, frowning: "I'm not going."

"Sister-in-law, are you still asleep?"

"Don't worry, sister-in-law, we'll go after you wake up."

She hung up the phone. Shu Wanning was awakened by her noise and scratched her hair casually, with a look of irritation from not having slept well between her brows.

She checked her phone and saw that Wen Yuci had sent her a message ten minutes ago saying that he had landed safely.

She replied briefly, stood up and opened the curtains. It was a little foggy outside.

The temperature seemed to have risen a little, and when she went downstairs, Xiaomei was wiping the stairs.

"The young lady has woken up. Before the young master left, he sent over a lot of new clothes, saying you can pick out the ones you like and keep them."

There were many gift boxes piled up in the living room. Shu Wanning yawned, sat on the sofa and opened one casually.

Before he could open the second one, Uncle Qiao hurried in and said, "Miss Ye is here."

"Sister-in-law, get up!"

She was wearing a red dress, and she came skipping in. She sat on the sofa, looking at the gift boxes scattered all over the floor and exclaimed, "Wow, sister-in-law, Brother Yuci picked out so many new items!"

She looked at him with a smile, placed a gift bag in front of Shu Wanning beside the sofa and said:

Sister-in-law, this is a spring limited edition bag, it’s not on sale yet, you are so lucky, I’m really envious~”

She was too enthusiastic. Shu Wanning was not used to it and did not like this enthusiasm. She only felt more irritated.

Shu Wanning put the gift bag aside and asked, "Why did you come to see me suddenly?"

"It's so boring, sister-in-law, let's go to the amusement park?"

Shu Wanning shook her head: "I told you on the phone that I wouldn't go."

Her face turned cold, and she looked more ferocious than before.

Ye Jiahui clutched her small bag and replied, "Okay then."

She pursed her lips and said in a slightly aggrieved voice: "I also went to find Sister Yuerong, but her foot was injured."

Shu Wanning was now extremely annoyed. She stood up and waved at her, "Sister-in-law, I'm leaving first."
