☆, Chapter 48: Mrs. Wen is good at taking people by surprise

After giving the instructions, Shu Wanning left the marketing department without looking back.

When she returned to the president's office, Wen Yuci was looking at the documents she had delivered that morning.

She sat on the sofa, touched her stomach and looked up at him: "Wen Yuci, I'm hungry."

Wen Yuci closed the file and stood up: "Then let's go out for dinner."

"I don't want to go out."

She leaned lazily on the sofa, like a sleepy kitten in the afternoon.

Wen Yuci smiled indulgently: "Then I'll have someone send it over."

Hearing this, Shu Wanning leaned back on the sofa and licked her lips. Thinking of something, she asked, "Where did you go this morning?"

"Is Mrs. Wen checking up on him?"

He teased with a smile, but unfortunately all he got was a sidelong glance from Shu Wanning: "President Wen, you need to work hard."

"Very serious."

She stood up from the sofa and when she walked out of the office, Wen Yuci called her: "Let's go back together tonight. The dance studio has been renovated."

Shu Wanning responded, ballet, she hadn't danced for five years.

If the Shu family had not forced her to dance for others, she might not have left the Shu family and would have continued to live a life like a walking corpse.

She lowered her eyes to suppress her emotions. Besides working, she also made sure that lunch was delivered to the office.

In the drawer were some snacks that Xiaomei had prepared for her.

As soon as she opened a bag, she saw Yan Hao standing at the door of her office with several lunch boxes.

"Ma'am, it's time to eat."

Shu Wanning looked at the opened biscuit, and adhering to the principle of not wasting, she stuffed a bite into her mouth before going to find Wen Yuci.

After entering the room and sitting at the dining table, she patted the residue on her hands, only to find that Wen Yuci's eyes were on her face.

"What are you looking at?"

He curved his lips and chuckled, then walked over to her. Under her puzzled gaze, he raised his hand to wipe away the biscuit crumbs from the corner of her lips.

"What did you steal?"

Shu Wanning: "Shortbread, it tastes pretty good, would you like some?"

"You can try it."

Wen Yuci just took it as a joke.

But he didn't expect that when he returned home in the evening, Shu Wanning really brought him a bunch of snacks, including the crispy biscuits she mentioned.

He went to the study with a bunch of snacks. Shu Wanning changed into comfortable home clothes and slowly opened the door of the dance studio.

There is an entire wall covered with mirrors, there are speakers next to the wall, and there are stretching equipment by the window.

Her eyes were full of soft light as she gently caressed herself in the mirror.

Her face was rosy, and for the first time she felt that she could be so beautiful.

She turned on her phone and connected it to the speaker, and familiar ballet music played in her ears.

She didn't wear dancing shoes, she just tiptoed and danced to the music.

Her toes had long been deformed and ugly due to dancing practice, and standing on tiptoe was like muscle memory.

At this moment, she felt as if she had never left ballet.

Wen Yuci walked out of the study and heard the music on the second floor. He quickened his pace and couldn't help but curl the corners of his lips when he reached the door.

He gently pushed open the door and saw Shu Wanning's flowing skirt. Under the bright light, she looked different from usual.

Shu Wanning noticed him and slowly stopped what he was doing.

After turning off the music, she lowered her head unconfidently in the face of his gaze.

Wen Yuci stood at the door and felt his heart tighten when he saw her lower her head.

He adjusted his mood, pointed to the other side of the wall and said, "There's a box over there. Open it and take a look."

Shu Wanning saw the box as soon as she entered the door. She walked over and slowly opened it, as if she had pressed the pause button.

Inside the box was a ballet costume, a dreamy purple color, and the embroidery on the hem was so exquisite that Shu Wanning didn't dare to reach out and touch it.

Seeing that she didn't move, Wen Yuci walked behind her and took her hand to touch the dance costume in the box.

He lowered his head and whispered to her, "It took a while to make it to order. I just got it back this morning."

"There's also a skirt I wear for dance practice underneath. I can change into it when I get tired of it."

Shu Wanning's fingertips carefully stroked the dance costume underneath, her eyes slightly red as she murmured, "But I can't dance that well anymore."

Wen Yuci put his hands on the box and surrounded the person from behind.

He placed his hand over hers to soothe her, "You are free here, you can dance however you want."

"I hope dancing will be a hobby for you in your spare time, rather than a constraint for you."

Shu Wanning curled his eyes and nodded: "Thank you for your guidance, Mr. Wen."

Wen Yuci let her go from his arms, took her hand and asked, "Do you still want to dance?"

Shu Wanning shook her head: "I'm tired and want to rest."

Wen Yuci couldn't help but tease: "Why are you so lazy?"

"Yuerong said that after taking the medicine, I like to sleep. Getting more sleep is good for my body."

When she reached the door of Shu Wanning's room, she pushed it open and turned to face Wen Yuci.

Looking at him in his dark grey custom-made suit, he still wore the brooch she had given him.

She lowered her head and smiled faintly, then looked up at him and said in a gentle voice:

"Wen Yuci, I can actually dance classically."

He nodded and smiled when he heard this: "I'll have someone make clothes for you."

He raised his hand to straighten the messy hair on her forehead and said softly, "Good night."

He turned to leave, and Shu Wanning inside the room suddenly grabbed the door and called out to him, "Wen Yuci."

Wen Yuci retreated again. Shu Wanning looked at him with a puzzled look and grabbed his suit collar.

She stood on tiptoe and kissed his lips lightly.

With the sound of the door closing, Wen Yuci looked at the closed door in front of him, and touched his lips belatedly.

A smile appeared at the corner of his eyes, and he frowned as if he was upset that he didn't seize the opportunity.

Looking at the closed door, the man who usually doesn't show his emotions now lowered his head and couldn't hide his smile.

Shu Wanning in the room covered her lips, patted her cheeks, lowered her head and chuckled, leaning against the door to listen to the movement outside.

After a long time, she heard Wen Yuci's footsteps leaving, and she walked to the rocking chair on the balcony and sat down to rock gently.

After shaking for a while, she suddenly stopped. There was no use hiding. They would meet again at dawn.

Wen Yuci had a bit of insomnia that night. The next morning, when he left the room, Shu Wanning was already sitting at the dining table.

Hearing the voice, Shu Wanning turned around and waved at him.

"Good morning, Mr. Wen. You got up a little late today."

Wen Yuci noticed her calm demeanor. After going downstairs, he raised his hand and threw the tie to her.

He smiled and raised his eyebrows slightly to look at her: "It seems that Mrs. Wen slept well?"

Seeing her nod, he sat next to her and joked, "I didn't expect that Mrs. Wen is good at catching people off guard."

Shu Wanning took his tie and pulled him towards himself.

She convinced herself not to be disturbed by his words and tied his tie with a calm expression.

Seeing her serious expression, a smile appeared in Wen Yuci's eyes.

He lowered his head closer to her, tilted his head slightly and kissed the side of her cheek.

Shu Wanning paused while tying his tie and murmured a reprimand, "I didn't expect Mr. Wen to be so good at sneak attacks."
