☆, Chapter 57 Wen Yuming is not smart now

When the two went downstairs, Wen Yuming was feeding the fish by the fountain.

Shu Wanning wore a denim dress with a thin brown coat over it.

Wen Yuci glanced at his dark blue suit and curled the corners of his lips slightly.

Only Wen Yuming had a face full of resentment, and he looked at Wen Yuci with a pursed mouth: "I want to wear blue too."

Before Wen Yuci could say anything, he immediately turned around and said, "There are some in the old house. I'll go back and change them!"

In the old house, Grandma Wen was sitting outside in the garden, watering the flowers with a kettle in her hand.

"Grandma! We're back!"

When Wen Yuming said this, Grandma Wen almost dropped the kettle in her hand.

She saw Wen Yuming running to the room upstairs. Just as she was wondering, she saw Wen Yuci walking in with Shu Wanning.

Wen Yuci: "Grandma, let's take a family photo."

"OK!"

Grandma Wen happened to be wearing a blue printed top. She fixed her hair and asked, "Do I need to comb my hair?"

Shu Wanning stood beside her, straightened her shirt and shook her head: "It's very neat, grandma, don't worry."

When Wen Yuming went downstairs, the photographer had already arrived and Grandma Wen was waving at him from her chair.

Wen Yuci and Shu Wanning stood behind Grandma Wen, and Wen Yuming asked to squat beside her.

With the photographer's voice, a family portrait was taken.

Grandma Wen smiled and said, "Take a few more pictures."

She was in a good mood and didn't look seriously ill, which was rare. Wen Yuci nodded in agreement.

After the photographer left, the servants placed tea sets on the table in the yard.

Grandma Wen took a sip of tea and looked at her little grandson with admiration.

"Yuming, I heard that you went to the company to study recently?"

"Yes, grandma, I'm very powerful now!"

He stood behind Grandma Wen and rubbed her shoulders. Wen Yuci nodded in agreement, "Yes, you've made progress."

Hearing this, Grandma Wen nodded repeatedly: "Okay, Yuming has grown up and become sensible!"

"Grandma, I've always been sensible, okay?"

Wen Yuming snorted in dissatisfaction, which made Grandma Wen laugh a few times.

Grandma Wen looked at Shu Wanning and smiled, "When he was little, he always got into trouble and blamed it on Yu Ci. As a result, he got beaten by Yu Ci."

Wen Yuming shrank his neck guiltily: "That's because I was too stupid when I was a kid."

Wen Yuci nodded aside: "Not smart now."

Wen Yuming moved closer to Shu Wanning's position and proudly raised his chin towards Wen Yuci.

"Humph, I'll let my sister-in-law protect me!"

Shu Wanning took a sip of tea and patted his shoulder gently like an elder: "Sister-in-law loves to bully children the most."

Behind them came the voice of a servant calling a few people to eat. Shu Wanning pulled Wen Yuci's arm and stood up, smiling: "I'm going to the bathroom first."

Watching her go upstairs, Grandma Wen's sigh attracted the attention of the two brothers.

She took their hands, clasped them together, and forced a smile:

"Yu Ci, Yu Ming, you are all grown up now.

Grandma just hopes that no matter what happens, you two will support each other and not be distracted."

Hearing this, Wen Yuci asked: "Grandma, what happened? You need to tell me."

"Nothing, just your dad said they're coming back to stay for a while."

Wen Yuming glanced at the person in front of him, held Grandma Wen's hand tightly, and nodded: "Grandma, you and my brother are the most important people to me."

Receiving Grandma Wen's gaze, Wen Yuci nodded and said, "Don't worry, Grandma."

After dinner, Grandma Wen sat on a chair and recalled that she and her brothers used to play chess in the yard.

She tilted her head, glanced at Shu Wanning and asked, "Can Wanning play chess?"

"I know a little bit of Go."

Hearing this, Wen Yuming stood up from his chair and said, "Sister-in-law, I can also play Go! Wait for me to get the chessboard!"

He brought his men and moved the chessboard and table to the yard. Shu Wanning looked at the silent person beside him for help.

She said, "I only know a little."

Wen Yuci curved his lips and said, "I'll teach you."

Wen Yuming, who was walking down the stairs, almost slipped when he heard this.

He looked at him with a sad face: "Brother, I have never won against you in chess."

Seeing him pitiful, Shu Wanning pushed Wen Yuci away a little: "Then I don't need you to teach me for the time being."

The game between the two began soon, and Grandma Wen also came closer to watch.

Seeing that Shu Wanning was about to lose, she quickly touched Wen Yuming.

Noticing her movements, Shu Wanning curved her lips and smiled: "It's okay, grandma, it's fun when there are wins and losses."

Wen Yuming looked at Wen Yuci with a guilty conscience, as if asking him if he could win.

Seeing him nod slightly, he dared to put down the chess piece in his hand.

"Sister-in-law, I won~"

Shu Wanning nodded and reached out to collect the chess pieces: "Let's play another game."

Shu Wanning vaguely heard the sound of someone singing, and Wen Yuci beside her bent her lips to explain to her: "From the sound, it's Shen Qingchen coming."

As he finished speaking, the humming sound stopped abruptly, and Shen Qingchen stepped into the yard carrying a few gift boxes.

"Hello! Surprise!"

Wen Yuming: "No surprise, I heard your voice a long time ago."

Shen Qingchen wore black workwear wide-leg pants and a black windbreaker jacket.

After placing the gift box on the chair, he immediately took off his coat.

"Hello, grandma, hello, sister-in-law. This dress is killing me."

He showed the gift box to Grandma Wen and reminded her, "Grandma, these are your favorite cakes. Remember to eat them."

"Okay, Qingchen is still so likable."

He dyed his hair, a head of eye-catching gray hair, and sat in a chair in a lazy manner.

He glanced at the chessboard and asked, "Who won?"

Shu Wanning replied: "Yuming."

He almost fell off the chair and whispered to Wen Yuci beside him: "Is my sister-in-law giving in to him?"

Wen Yuci glanced at him and asked, "Is it done?"

"Don't worry, brother."

Recalling something, he said, "The Shu family approached the Mu family and wanted to marry Shu Xin to them."

"Mu Rao didn't agree. He heard that the Mu family's business was not doing well, so he wanted the eldest daughter of the Mu family to return home for marriage."

Hearing this, Wen Yuming lost interest in playing chess and immediately joined the discussion: "He is too shameless!"

Seeing Shu Wanning's confused look, Wen Yuming explained:

“Sister-in-law, Mu Rao of the Mu family and her sister are a reconstituted family.

After his parents passed away, he suddenly sent his sister abroad.

It's been so many years, and now that he remembers he has a younger sister, he's actually trying to arrange a marriage for her."

Shen Qingchen took over and continued, "I heard that her sister has always been afraid of him, but I don't know why she agreed to come back this time."

"When will you be back?" Wen Yuming asked.

"Six months later."

The two talked for a long time, and Shu Wanning said "Oh" slowly and asked, "Is his sister pretty?"

Wen Yuming: “Never seen it.”

Shen Qingchen thought for a moment and said, "I saw her once at the banquet for Grandma Wen's 70th birthday that year. She was quite beautiful."
