☆, Chapter 7: Well, let’s get married
In the room on the second floor, Aunt Jing wiped the sweat from Shu Wanning's forehead with a warm towel, and her clothes were tightly grasped in her hands.
After Shu Wanning's drip was finished, Aunt Jing moved a stool and lay down at the head of her bed to rest. At some point, she felt the person on the bed moving restlessly.
When Shu Wanning opened his eyes, he struggled as if he had a nightmare, mumbling something incoherently. Aunt Jing was startled and quickly got up to knock on Wen Yuci's door.
"Master! Please go see Miss Shu!"
The door opened, and Wen Yuci, wearing a gray home suit, looked at Aunt Jing's anxious expression. He walked towards Shu Wanning's room. After entering, he saw her curled up in a ball with a frown on her face.
He sat at the head of her bed, patted her arm and called her, "Shu Wanning, wake up."
He called a few times, but the person on the bed still didn't wake up. Her hands were groping around as if looking for something. As she waved her hands, she suddenly grabbed the corner of Wen Yuci's clothes.
Suddenly, tears welled up from the corners of her eyes and the corners of her lips moved slightly. Wen Yuci moved closer and finally heard what she said.
Aunt Jing sat on the other side with a distressed look on her face, gently patting her hand to comfort her.
Perhaps feeling comforted, the person on the bed gradually relaxed, but the hand holding Wen Yuci's clothes still had no less strength.
After checking the time, Wen Yuci said softly, "Aunt Jing, please go and rest first. I'll stay here with you."
The rain outside had stopped at some point. Wen Yuci sat on the edge of the bed, browsing his phone casually. When he felt sleepy, he supported his head with one hand to rest.
Long after the sun rose, Shu Wanning opened her eyes, and the glaring light made her squint.
She felt weak after having a fever. She turned her head and realized that she was holding Wen Yuci's clothes tightly. For a moment, she quickly let go.
Sensing her movements, Wen Yuci opened his eyes, bloodshot under his eyes. Seeing that her complexion had improved a lot, he said, "Awake, are you still feeling uncomfortable?"
His voice was hoarse from not waking up yet. Shu Wanning shook his head: "Much better."
When she opened her mouth, she found that her voice was much hoarse than his, and her throat was very dry.
Wen Yuci stood up, straightened his clothes, and handed her the cup of water on the bedside table. Shu Wanning stood up and took it. "Thank you, thank you again."
"No trouble."
He left the room after saying these three words. Aunt Jing downstairs saw Wen Yuci coming out and guessed that he had probably woken up, so she hurriedly brought the soup she had cooked upstairs.
She knocked on the door, and after entering, she looked at Shu Wanning's sickly face with heartache and said softly, "Are you hungry? I made some soup to warm your stomach first."
Wen Yuci packed up briefly and went to the company. He had been quiet on the way and suddenly said, "Yan Hao, I need a prenuptial agreement."
Yan Hao, who was sitting in the passenger seat, turned back stiffly, his eyes filled with disbelief, and asked loudly, "Boss, who did you choose?"
Wen Yuci didn't answer, but glanced at him lightly. Yan Hao immediately covered his mouth and nodded. He understood that the boss's look was a sign of scolding him.
Yan Hao acted quickly. According to Wen Yuci's request, he brought the agreement to the office at noon.
Wen Yuci opened the agreement, glanced at it, and put it aside. He raised his eyes and said, "Bring forward the afternoon meeting."
"OK.
"There's one more thing." Wen Yuci stopped him, "Yuming likes a car. Go ask him which one it is and buy it for him."
After he finished speaking, he continued to look at the documents. In Qianyue Bay, Shu Wanning was leaning on the sofa with a blanket wrapped around her, holding the chef's freshly made bread in her hand. Aunt Jing pulled her to try it.
The air after the rain smelled of grass. The sun was shining brightly outside, but Shu Wanning found it very dazzling.
She pulled her legs into the blanket, but she was still cold. Finally, she put the bread in her hand on the coffee table and climbed upstairs wrapped in the blanket.
When Wen Yuci came back, he saw half a loaf of bread on the coffee table as soon as he entered the living room. He glanced upstairs and asked Aunt Jing, "Where is she?"
"She went back to her room. She spent the afternoon sunbathing in the living room, but I don't think she was very happy."
"Well, call her downstairs for dinner, and then let everyone leave work early."
He was sitting at the dining table when he heard footsteps upstairs. He raised his eyes slightly and saw a piece of his skirt falling on the stairs.
The room was so quiet that one could hear the sound of the wind outside. The two looked at each other in silence. After the meal was over, when Shu Wanning was about to go upstairs, Wen Yuci stood up and said, "Miss Shu, I have something to tell you."
On the sofa,
Shu Wanning sat opposite him, Wen Yuci's glasses were placed on the table, and his dark eyes looked straight at her.
His lips were tense, and then he reached out and pushed the agreement on the other side of the coffee table in front of her.
"I have something I would like to ask you for help with. Miss Shu, please take a look at this."
Prenuptial Agreement
Shu Wanning finished reading the agreement in confusion, then looked up at him and asked puzzledly, "Why me?"
Wen Yuci sat up straight and explained seriously, "My grandmother is in poor health and has always wanted me to get married.
I need someone to act with me, and you, there is no family relationship dispute, no identity that is harmful to me, and most importantly, we are relatively familiar with each other.
Ms. Shu can make her own choice and tell me any conditions. I have no ill intentions, so please don't misunderstand me."
He spoke honestly and frankly. Shu Wanning's eyes fell on the word "one year". Although it was only one year, the compensation he gave was eight figures, which was quite generous.
He has provided a lot of help during this period, and he is also kind and patient...
Just when Wen Yuci thought she was going to refuse, she picked up a pen and wrote her name on the agreement stroke by stroke.
"Ms. Shu, have you thought it through?"
"Well, none of that matters to me."
She pushed the agreement back, and Wen Yuci signed his name and said, "Then shall we go register tomorrow?"
"Mr. Wen will make the arrangements."
Wen Yuci stood up and said softly, "I will keep my promise in a year. During this time, I will not have any improper thoughts about Miss Shu. Please rest assured, Miss Shu."
He left a copy of the agreement with Shu Wanning, strode away, and when Shu Wanning stood up, he stepped back.
He placed the card on the table and said calmly, "This is my secondary card. Ms. Shu can use it at will."
Shu Wanning looked at his leaving back, holding the agreement. With this agreement, she no longer needed to marry Ji Cheng, and no longer had to deal with Shu Min. She was free and had a secondary card. It seemed... she had made a lot of money.
She put the agreement on the bedside table, opened the wardrobe, and picked out a relatively good-looking white dress.
In the study, Wen Yuci stared at the agreement for a long time, then called Yan Hao: "Come pick me up at nine o'clock tomorrow morning."
Yan Hao: "There's no schedule tomorrow morning. Is the boss going out?"
"Well, get married."
Yan Hao:!!!!???
marry?
Who to marry?
Really getting married?
His mind was full of question marks. He didn't hear clearly what Wen Yuci said until he saw the WeChat message.
