☆, Chapter 9 Now She's My Wife

Wen Yuming didn't know that he had been blamed for something he hadn't seen before. He ran towards Wen Yuci excitedly, "Brother! When did you come back?"

Seeing Shu Wanning, he widened his eyes in surprise: "Sister Wanning, you are here too!"

Wen Yuci: "You have to call her sister-in-law."

sister in law……

These two words echoed in his mind, and then he took the opportunity to pull Shu Wanning aside and asked her seriously, "Sister Wanning, do you have any evidence against my brother?"

"You're overthinking it."

"Did my brother threaten you?"

"Then you think more."

Wen Yuming frowned: "That shouldn't be the case. Then why did my brother kidnap you in just a few days?"

Shu Wanning pursed her lips and thought for a long time before she managed to squeeze out a few words dryly: "Maybe it's because I'm kind-hearted."

"The two young masters are having dinner!"

A voice came from behind, Shu Wanning returned to Wen Yuci, and Wen Yuming followed behind them, still muttering to himself.

The dishes on the table were light in flavor, and the atmosphere was harmonious. At Grandma Wen's constant prompting, Wen Yuci picked up a piece of asparagus and placed it in Shu Wanning's bowl. Seeing her eat it, he also picked up crab and fish for her.

Shu Wanning put the crab into his mouth, lowered his head and hid the fish meat in the rice, ate the rice, and stuffed a few mouthfuls of other dishes into his mouth.

Wen Yuming kept observing Wen Yuci while eating. Seeing him look at Shu Wanning beside him from time to time, he nodded in agreement like an elder, "Well, it seems my brother performed well."

Grandma Wen was amused by him and couldn't help but say, "You look so mature at such a young age."

When leaving the old house, Grandma Wen couldn't stop looking around at the door. In the car, Shu Wanning withdrew his gaze, yawned lazily, leaned back in the chair, and closed his eyes to rest.

Shu Wanning opened her eyes when the car turned into Qianyue Bay. Wen Yuci, who was standing beside her, glanced at her and teased, "You're really good at keeping track of time."

"It's just a coincidence."

When getting off the car, Wen Yuci walked beside her and whispered, "I'll have someone send you some new clothes and jewelry tomorrow."

"I don't go out often, so don't send too much."

Wen Yuci nodded, and then said: "You may need to accompany me to some banquets in the future, so clothes are a must."

Shu Wanning yawned again and nodded: "I'm fine with either. You decide."

Shu Wanning walked through the living room and was about to go upstairs when Wen Yuci suddenly said, "Why are you staying indoors all the time? You should get some fresh air."

Shu Wanning: "I... am used to it."

"Then if you feel too bored in the room, go upstairs and watch a movie."

He raised his eyes to her, curled his lips and asked, "Where do you work? Do you need me to send someone to take you there?"

Shu Wanning shook her head: "I can work in the house. I'm writing a novel."

Hearing this, Wen Yuci asked, "Novel, what type?"

"Abuse."

"Very sadistic?"

“I think it’s just okay, but readers say it’s very sad.”

“Can I read your book?”

Shu Wanning blinked and shook her head, "Forget it. I'm afraid you'll cry."

In fact, she didn't think Wen Yuci would cry, she just simply didn't want him to see it.

She turned and went upstairs. Aunt Liu Jing came out of the kitchen. Wen Yuci waved at her and said, "Please tell them that there's a new Mrs. Wen in the house. Don't let anyone neglect her."

"Oh, okay, don't worry."

As he turned around and went upstairs, his cell phone rang a few times. He took it out and looked at it for a few seconds, then went upstairs to change into ordinary clothes and went out again.

Seeing his car leaving, Shu Wanning wanted to ask if she needed to wait for him to have dinner together in the future. After opening her phone, she found that she didn't have Wen Yuci's contact information at all.

Wen Yuci drove to the largest club in Beijing, 'Half Awakened'. After getting out of the car, he casually threw the keys to the waiter beside him. After entering the door, he looked at the messages on his phone again.

He took the elevator straight to the top floor and pushed open the door of the private room. The music in the room suddenly dropped and someone threw a wine glass in his direction.

Cen You: "So slow, I've been waiting for you for a long time."

Wen Yuci glanced at him sideways: "Only fifteen minutes."

Qiu Yuerong looked up from her phone and asked him, "How is she? Is she recovered?"

"Yeah, much better."

"Who is it?"

Hearing their conversation, Shen Qingchen turned off the music and moved closer to Wen Yuci: "Who are you talking about?"

Cen You: "A girl, at Yu Ci's house."

Qiu Yuerong: "She's beautiful."

Shen Qingchen: "Brother Yuci, your girlfriend?"

Cen You was about to shake his head when he heard Wen Yuci say calmly, "She's my wife now."

"puff……"

Cen You spit out a mouthful of wine. Qiu Yuerong quickly handed him a tissue and asked in confusion, "What's going on?"

"My grandmother always wanted me to get married, so I signed an agreement with her."

Shen Qingchen took a sip of wine and shook his head: "Marriage is such a terrible curse."

He is a few years younger than Wen Yuci and Cen You. He has liked following them since he was a child and always wanted to be the same age as them. Now he realizes that being young has its advantages.

Wen Yuci leaned against the sofa, with two buttons of his shirt collar undone, the cuffs rolled up on his arms, a cigarette between his fingertips, and he took off his glasses and threw them on the table.

Shen Qingchen put his glasses aside, clinked glasses with Wen Yuci, and asked, "You're not nearsighted, so why are you wearing glasses?"

Cen You: "Just pretend to be polite!"

Wen Yuci chuckled, raised the hand holding the wine glass slightly, and clinked glasses with Cen You in the air. Shen Qingchen beside him also joined in.

Qiu Yuerong's eyes were fixed on her phone. Cen You raised his hand and pinched her neck to remind her, "If you keep looking down, your neck will hurt."

Qiu Yuerong put away her phone, leaned against Cen You, and whispered to Wen Yuci, "Monday is the anniversary of my aunt's death. Do you want to take your sister-in-law with you?"

Wen Yuci drank his wine in silence. "Take her with you?" He probably wanted to let his mother know that he was married and had a family. But could she really know?

Memories of his childhood flooded back into his mind, those yellowed and blurry memories were the only ones related to his mother.

He drank one glass of wine after another. Cen You glanced at Shen Qingchen and immediately moved the bottle of wine away from Wen Yuci.

"Yu Ci, stop drinking, you're getting drunk."

Cen You made a phone call, pulled the person next to him up and said, "We're leaving first. Qingchen, wait for Yan Hao to come pick him up."

Shen Qingchen packed his and Wen Yuci's clothes listlessly and nodded: "Oh, I see, it's me again."

Shu Wanning did not eat dinner because in the evening, Aunt Jing hurriedly found her and said that she wanted to ask for leave to go home to take care of her sick grandson.

It just so happened that she had no appetite, so she let the chef and the maid go home from get off work and sat alone on the sofa in the living room, wrapped in a thin blanket, watching TV.

When Yan Hao brought Wen Yuci back, it was already midnight. Shu Wanning was feeling a little drowsy. When she heard the sound, she stood up and saw Yan Hao supporting Wen Yuci, whose cheeks were slightly red, as he walked in.

"Drunk?" she asked in a low voice.

Yan Hao nodded and helped Wen Yuci to the room. As he went downstairs, he lowered his head and said, "Please give him a glass of warm water later."
