☆, Chapter 5: Someone shielded her from the rain
At night, Shu Wanning lay in her bed which she had not been away from for a long time. She turned on her mobile phone which had not been turned on for a long time and found that her father Shu Min had changed his mobile phone number and sent her many messages.
Her face remained calm as she deleted all the messages with a flick of her fingertips. She then pulled out the SIM card and threw it into the trash can before lying down again.
After Yan Hao returned to Qianyue Bay, Wen Yuci sat on the sofa with the flower night light that Shu Wanning had been using next to him.
Wen Yuci pointed at the night light, and Yan Hao immediately understood because he was the one who got the night light from the apartment.
He took out his cell phone and said, "I'll call Miss Shu."
After dialing several times in a row, Yan Hao put down the phone and said, "No one answered. Maybe she's asleep. I'll send it to her tomorrow?"
"I don't have time. Go on a business trip with me tomorrow."
At one o'clock in the morning, Shu Wanning woke up as usual. There was food in the box that Aunt Jing brought her. She took it out and put two bites in her mouth.
The sleepiness disappeared without a trace. She sighed lightly, grabbed her food, climbed onto the bed and turned on the computer.
I opened the search page, tapped my fingertips on the keyboard, looked at the three words 'Wen Yuci' and pressed search.
Wen Yuci, 26 years old, is the president of Wen Group and the head of the Wen family. He took over the company at the age of 18, and his business has been booming over the past eight years.
Shu Wanning took a bite of the biscuit and continued to look down, seeing the red-haired boy.
Wen Yuci's mother died early and he was raised by his grandmother. His father remarried a month after his mother's death.
For many years, he had a bad relationship with his father and stepmother, and only his half-brother treated him like a real brother.
The Wen family has been in business for generations, and the Wen Group is deeply rooted in the capital and is an unshakable presence.
The relationships among the Wen family's side branches are complicated, and Wen Yuci shoulders the family's glory. Over the years, he has been self-disciplined and has never had any scandals.
After finishing a small bag of biscuits, Shu Wanning closed the query page. It turned out that someone of such status would bow his head and apologize to her. He was dignified and polite, and his every move exuded cultivation from his bones.
She put the computer on the bedside, lay flat on the bed and stared at the ceiling in a daze. She didn't get up from the bed until dawn. She rubbed her eyes.
After breakfast, she changed into warm clothes, put on a hat and a mask and went out. The cold wind made her shiver.
There were not many people on the street. She pushed a shopping cart at the entrance of the supermarket, and when she came out, the cart was full.
Shu Wanning had difficulty carrying two overweight shopping bags and walked slowly. When she passed by the business hall, she applied for a new mobile phone card.
On the road, a black Rolls-Royce stopped at the intersection. Yan Hao was looking at the red light ahead. When Wen Yuci turned his head, he saw a familiar figure.
The man was wrapped tightly. He looked at him carefully twice, feeling somewhat uncertain. He didn't look away until the figure disappeared around the corner.
Shu Wanning always felt that the recent weather seemed to be colder than in previous years, and she was always reluctant to go out.
There was enough food in the house, and she didn't want to cook. She just kept to herself and stayed in the apartment for a whole week.
The temperature finally rose a little that day. She hung the washed sheets on the balcony when there was suddenly a knock on the door.
She put her phone in her pocket and looked out carefully through the peephole, only to find that her entire view was blocked from the outside.
Just as she was about to lock the door, the cover on the peephole was suddenly removed, and her father Shu Min appeared outside the door.
"Ningning, are you there? I heard you were back, but I couldn't get through to you on the phone."
Hypocritical.
Shu Wanning didn't answer, but Shu Min outside the door kept knocking on the door vigorously: "Ningning, today is your mother's birthday, I'm here to take you home for dinner!"
His shouting aroused the dissatisfaction of his neighbors. Someone next door opened the door and shouted angrily: "Can't you let me rest?"
In order not to disturb others, Shu Wanning opened the door and stood at the door, looking at Shu Min with cold eyes: "You are a noble man who forgets things easily. When you sent me out, you said that you had nothing to do with me anymore."
As soon as Shu Min finished speaking, his expression suddenly changed. He shouted at the person beside him, "Bring her back to me!"
Several bodyguards rushed in from outside the door, grabbed Shu Wanning's arms, covered her mouth and dragged her out.
Shu Wanning was roughly shoved into the car. She moved her red wrist and looked warily at Shu Min beside her: "Where are you taking me?"
Shu Min looked her up and down. "I didn't expect they wanted money but not you. Then you go and get me some money!"
Shu Min signaled the person next to him to loosen his grip on her and took her cell phone away. The look in his eyes was disgusting, and Shu Wanning turned her head away and didn't look at him.
Shu Min: "Put on your dance costume and make people happy. I'll take you away when I get the money."
"Oh…"
Shu Wanning tilted her head to look out the window. She didn't know when it started raining outside, and the sound of the rain hitting the window was so loud that it made her feel annoyed.
The car drove very fast. Inside the hotel, Shu Wanning was pulled upstairs and stuffed into a private room. Her ballet costume was hanging on the clothes rack in the room.
She took off her coat that was in the way and threw it aside, looking around, trying to find an exit to escape.
She opened the window. It was on the third floor, not very high, but she would get hurt if she jumped down.
There was someone guarding the door. She pinched her sleeves, opened the door and said to the person at the door: "I want to take a shower."
"No, Mr. Shu has ordered that you cannot leave this door."
"I haven't showered in a week. Are you sure the boss doesn't like people not showering? I'm not going out. Find someone to clean the bathroom. It's too dirty."
Seeing the two men hesitate, she closed the door. Soon a waiter came in with a cleaning cart, and Shu Wanning took the opportunity to hide under the cleaning cart.
She curled up her body and subconsciously held her breath when she heard the waiter leave the room.
The person at the door didn't seem to notice and was still guarding the door. She quickly slipped out while the waiter was cleaning another room.
The elevator was too unsafe, so she hurried down the fire escape stairs and ran out of the hotel as fast as she could.
Shu Min soon realized that she was missing. The rain was getting heavier. Shu Wanning was running on the street, looking back in panic, and stumbling back towards the apartment.
In the rain, Yan Hao sat in the car looking out, while Wen Yuci sat in the back seat, sleeping lightly with his head supported by one hand.
Suddenly Yan Hao saw a running figure. He turned around and whispered, "I think I saw Miss Shu."
Wen Yuci opened his eyes and looked out the window with a sleepy look, then frowned slightly and looked at Yan Hao as if asking where he was.
The heavy rain blurred his vision. Shu Wanning was exhausted. With the sound of a horn, he slipped and fell on the road.
Her knee was bruised, and the heavy rain seemed like God deliberately didn't want her to escape.
Cars came and went, and she fell to the side of the road, as if all her strength had been drained away. For a moment, she thought of just accepting her fate and no longer had the will to resist.
Suddenly, the rain stopped.
It wasn't that the rain had stopped, it was that someone was shielding her from the rain.
Shu Wanning looked up and saw Wen Yuci, wearing a black coat and holding a black umbrella, standing beside her, looking at her with a serious gaze.
"What happened?" he asked aloud.
Shu Wanning tilted his head: "He was caught by Shu Min."
