☆, Chapter 34 I'm in a good mood today, I'll serve you
Shu Wanning wiped his hands, took Grandma Wen's hand, smiled faintly and said:
"I like all the gifts Grandma sent me. Please take care of yourself."
"You don't have to worry about me. But you, Yu Ci said you're much better, but I think your nasal voice is still very serious."
"Grandma, I'm much better now. It's just that my constitution is weak, and it takes a long time for me to recover from every cold."
Grandma Wen glanced at Wen Yuci beside her and said, "How come you can't even take care of my granddaughter-in-law?"
Wen Yuci lowered his head: "It's my fault."
After chatting for a long time in Grandma Wen's room, Shu Wanning returned to her room and picked up the computer she brought with her and said:
"I need to change something, you rest first."
She sat on the chair, and Wen Yuci came close to her, looking at the documents on her screen, carefully reading the name of each work.
"What is this book about?"
Suddenly, he pointed to a document on the screen and asked the question in his mind.
"The hero is Aquaman, and the heroine has a congenital heart disease. After repeated interactions, the heroine falls in love with the hero.
The girl pursues the boy, but the boy disagrees. When the boy realizes that he likes the girl, the girl disappears.
When they met again, the heroine fainted in front of the boy, and finally died in the year when the boy loved her the most.
Wen Yuci responded calmly, then pointed to the book next to him and asked, "What is this book about?"
"It tells the story of the love between the male and female protagonists during their school days, the two of them went through various difficulties together and finally got married happily and had children
. In the twelfth year of their love, the male protagonist cheated on her.
After seeing him changing sides with one man after another, the heroine filed for divorce. On the day of the divorce, the hero traveled back to when he was seventeen years old.
He witnessed how much he loved the heroine and how crazy he was for her.
Then he regretted the divorce, couldn't forgive himself, and in the end he still couldn't win back the heroine."
This time, Wen Yuci was silent. He stood beside her, looking at the other books on her screen and asked, "Why are each one sadder than the last?"
Shu Wanning stopped typing on the keyboard, unconsciously clenched his fist, his eyelashes trembling slightly, and he said self-deprecatingly:
"Because I don't know how to describe happiness in words."
There was a cool feeling on my lips, and next to my lips was the lychee peeled by Wen Yuci.
She tilted her head, and he signaled her to open her mouth with his eyes, then continued to peel the lychees with his head lowered.
She spat out the lychee pit and jokingly said, "I thought you all peeled and pitted lychees before eating them."
"That's true." Wen Yuci nodded in agreement.
He smiled as he fed the peeled lychees to Shu Wanning again: "I'm in a good mood today, I'll serve you."
"Really?" Shu Wanning raised an eyebrow and took a lychee from the side of his mouth before saying, "Then give me a shoulder massage?"
She wanted to make a joke, but she didn't expect Wen Yuci to get up, wash his hands, and then stand behind her.
He placed his hands on her shoulders and squeezed them gently, without a hint of impatience.
"Is this strength okay, Mrs. Wen?"
"Yeah, not bad."
After a moment, she motioned him to stop, turned off the computer, and said with a stiff neck, "I'm done."
When she turned around, she saw Wen Yuci standing motionless beside the sofa.
She walked over quietly, and when she followed his gaze and saw the only bed, she was frozen like him.
Wen Yuci: "When I first came in, I was wondering why the original sofa in this room was replaced with the current single sofa."
Shu Wanning glanced at the sofa that could only accommodate one person and asked, "Did grandma change it?"
Wen Yuci nodded, took a pillow from the bed and lowered his voice, "Grandma is old and always wants to hold her grandchildren. I'm going to sleep in the study next door."
Shu Wanning had seen the study before. There was no bed or sofa. She hesitated for a few seconds, then picked up the pillow on the sofa and called out to Wen Yuci:
"Forget it. There's no place to sleep in the study, and grandma will find out."
She placed the pillow in the middle of the bed and raised her chin to indicate, "Middle line."
A smile spread across Wen Yuci's eyes. After throwing the pillow on the bed, he raised his foot and moved closer to Shu Wanning, lowering his voice and laughing at her: "You really take me for a gentleman."
Shu Wanning's eyes fell on his slightly wrinkled tie. She raised her eyes to meet his gaze and reached out as if to smooth his tie.
The moment he touched the tie, Shu Wanning suddenly changed his mind.
He suddenly untied his slightly wrinkled tie, stuffed it into Wen Yuci's hand, and said slowly:
"Maybe you don't know this, but actually... people who like to read novels generally don't have very serious minds."
She walked past him, her long skirt fluttering and brushing against his trousers. He tilted his head and his eyes fell on the wide slippers on her feet.
Shu Wanning walked into the bathroom with her pajamas. Wen Yuci stroked the tie in his hand for a few times, then made the bed and left the room.
When Shu Wanning finished taking a shower and walked out of the bathroom, there was a pair of sky blue women's slippers decorated with an oversized bow placed at the door.
She tried them on and found they were the perfect size and had a soft sole, so she immediately threw away the men's slippers she was wearing.
Wen Yuci sat on the sofa and looked back at her, taking in her little movements with a smile in his eyes. He stood up and picked up the slippers she left at the bathroom door.
When he was about to go to bed, Shu Wanning was already lying on the other side of the bed.
She was lying on her side, taking up very little space. She was wrapped in the quilt with only her head exposed, her inky black hair spread out on the gray sheets.
He lay down gently, and the distance between them seemed wide enough for another person to lie down.
Wen Yuci turned his head to look at the back of her head, his eyes clear without any trace of sleepiness.
Shu Wanning remained in the same position for a long time without moving. She thought she would be awake all night, but she fell asleep unknowingly.
When she woke up the next day, Wen Yuci was no longer in the room. When she went downstairs, Wen Yuanshan was the only one in the living room.
"Good morning, auntie."
Shu Wanning greeted her politely, but all she got in return was Wen Yuanshan's rude look.
"Yu Ci's wife is here, please sit down."
"No, auntie, I have something else to do."
"Auntie just wants to talk to you for a few words, why are you so busy?"
Originally, Shu Wanning didn't want to pay attention to her, but her voice was too loud and she was really afraid of disturbing her grandmother.
She sat on the chair opposite Wen Yuanshan and asked calmly, "What does Aunt want to tell me?"
"How did you and Yu Ci know each other?"
Shu Wanning: "Auntie, do you like to listen to gossip too?"
