Chapter 130 Brewing

He took the blueprints downstairs and explained them to Yuchi Baolin. As expected of a family of blacksmiths, Qin Mu explained it once, and Yuchi Baolin only asked about a few details before nodding and putting the blueprints away, saying, "Don't worry, brother, I'll arrange for someone to make it for you as soon as possible."

"Thank you, Brother Yuchi. Please finish the last picture first."

"no problem."

“Brother, is there anything else I can help you with? Although I don’t know how to forge, I’m quite capable in other matters. I have many more friends in Chang’an than the Yuchi brothers do,” Cheng Huaimo asked.

"There is indeed something I need to trouble Brother Cheng with," Qin Mu said after thinking for a moment.

"Brother, just say it."

"As you know, I just returned to Chang'an and am unfamiliar with the place. There are some things I don't want to trouble my family with," Qin Mu said with a smile.

"It's alright, I'm very familiar with Chang'an, please speak freely."

"I'd like to ask Brother Cheng to help me buy a batch of wine, preferably a little of every variety," Qin Mu explained.

"Is that all?" Cheng Huaimo asked in surprise.

"It's such a small thing, why bother buying it! I'll have someone deliver it to you, how much do you want!" Cheng Huaimo said generously.

“His father loved wine, so he had his own brewery,” Yuchi Baolin said.

"Brother Cheng, you misunderstand. I'm not here to drink this wine. I want to order several varieties to compare the taste of the wines on the market," Qin Mu said, shaking his head.

"Brother, do you perhaps also want to set up a brewery?" Cheng Huaimo asked hesitantly.

"Not bad." As expected of the Cheng family, he really does have a pig-like face but a sharp mind. Qin Mu sighed inwardly and nodded.

“Brother, why are you doing this? My family has a brewery. Just let me know if you want to. Setting up a brewery is easy, and I can even lend you the staff. But selling the brewery isn’t so easy,” Cheng Huaimo advised.

"Hehe, I have an ancestral brewing method that I guarantee will taste even better than today's wine," Qin Mu said with a smile.

"Really!" Cheng Huaimo asked in surprise.

"That's right!" Qin Mu nodded affirmatively. He asked Cheng Huaimo to help buy wine because he wanted to involve the Cheng family. Otherwise, he could have just sent a servant to buy it; with money, you can buy it anywhere.

"Hehe! Good brother, you can't forget me about this good thing." Cheng Huaimo put his arm around Qin Mu and said with a smile.

“No problem, but no rush. Let’s make a decision after Brother Yuchi has finished making it,” Qin Mu said.

"No need to think about it, it's settled then. If you need anything else, just let me know, and I'll have someone prepare it." Cheng Huaimo said, patting his chest.

"It's alright, let's wait until the finished product is ready and everyone has tasted it before making a decision. If you're willing, I'll definitely include one for each of you," Qin Mu said confidently.

"It's settled then. I'll go back and make it now, and bring it to you tomorrow, brother," said Yuchi Baolin, standing up. He was an impatient person by nature, and he was immediately delighted to hear that Qin Mu was going to include him in the profits.

The Yuchi family was not short of money, but the brothers had a hard life. Yuchi Gong was notorious in Chang'an for being stingy, and the brothers had always lived a rather frugal life, rarely having their own business. Yuchi Baolin was naturally eager to do so.

Without a word, he grabbed Yuchi Baoqing and started walking out. Yuchi Huan glanced at his elder brother and followed.

"Alright, we'll take our leave then. We'll definitely deliver the wine tomorrow," Cheng Huaimo said, standing up as well.

"You don't need too much of anything, a hundred catties will be enough," Qin Mu instructed.

"Okay, I've got it. No need to see me off, brother." Cheng Huaimo waved his hand and said without turning his head.

"Brother Qin, it's time for me to go too. Thank you for your hospitality." Li Dejiang also came to say goodbye.

"I'll do you a favor, Brother Qin," Qin Mu said with a smile, patting his shoulder.

"Brother Qin, please speak," Li Dejiang said, looking up at Qin Mu. He was very grateful to Qin Mu; the twelve-year-old boy was already very sensible. It wasn't that Li Jing's family lacked resources to raise him. It was just that the things Qin Mu offered were good and rare, and there was nowhere to buy them even if one wanted to.

After eating two meals, he could already feel that he was cultivating his Qi and Blood Killing Qi within the next day or two.

Qin Mu thought differently; he wanted to befriend Li Jing's family without causing any harm.

"Buy some medicinal herbs for Brother Qin!" Qin Mu said, taking out a piece of paper. Although the Heavenly Mystery Tower had all kinds of pills, it was only enough for him to build a foundation. After all, Wei Liaozi's arrangements were rather hasty, so many things needed to be purchased.

“No problem, leave it to me,” Li Dejiang said, patting his chest.

"Well, no need to rush, just buy as much as you can," Qin Mu said with a smile. Some of the medicinal herbs on the list were relatively rare, and he figured having more people would make it easier to collect them.

"I understand." Li Dejiang nodded and then left.

"Big brother." Qin Huaiyu greeted Qin Mu as he walked over.

"Okay, keep a close eye on your little sister, make sure she doesn't fall," Qin Mu instructed.

"Okay." Qin Huaiyu looked at his sister on the ox's back with envy and nodded in reply.

"Also, remember to come early tomorrow." After taking a few steps, Qin Mu stopped and said.

"Oh!" Knowing that she was going to study here, Qin Huaiyu immediately lost much of her energy.

Qin Mu ignored him and had Qin Yong and the others move the desk upstairs before sitting down to continue memorizing the Primer of Prosody.

He had considered printing, but the process of writing allowed him to familiarize himself with traditional characters, a kind of practice, which kept him from pursuing the idea. Of course, he'll definitely need it in the future; otherwise, copying the same thing every day would be quite tedious.

Knowing they had already eaten, Qin Mu didn't call them for lunch. He focused on writing, and with his physical strength greatly increased, he didn't feel tired. When he put down his pen, he realized that the sun had already set.

Upon going outside, they saw that the swing under the shade of the tree was already set up, along with a rattan chair hanging there, where the two younger sisters were sitting and swinging. On the other side, Qin Huaiyu had actually run into the pond and was playing on the back of a cow, her clothes and pants already soaked. Fortunately, it was summer, so she wasn't worried about catching a cold, and with Qin Yong and the others watching over her, her safety wasn't a problem.

Qin Mu went downstairs and sent his younger siblings, who had been playing wildly all afternoon, back to take a shower and change clothes, otherwise they would easily get sick when it got dark and the temperature dropped.

Looking at the sky, Qin Mu set off to have dinner with Qin Qiong and his wife. After dinner, he told Qin Qiong about his plan to brew wine.

"Do these things if you want, but don't let them interfere with your cultivation," Qin Qiong instructed.

"I know. Once it's all set up, the manor will assign someone to manage it. I'll still focus my main energy on seeing my younger siblings and my own cultivation," Qin Mu nodded.
