Chapter 271 The Guide

"Is...is this really true?" Huang Shan asked in surprise.

"Of course it's true! All these new pieces of furniture are made in my family's workshop, and the food you're eating is also unique to the Qin family; everyone else is just copying it," Qin Mu said confidently.

"This...this...to be honest, I definitely want these things, but..." Huang Shan stammered somewhat awkwardly. At first, he was indeed excited and wanted them, but upon closer inspection, while the restaurant and furniture could be replicated, the dishes and food were secret recipes.

Qin Mu knew that he was worried that he had something to ask for, and that the Huang family would not be able to agree to it, so he smiled and said, "Just consider it a cooperation between me and the Huang family! We'll deduct the cost of the medicinal herbs, and I'll make up the difference if it's not enough."

"Thank you, young master! Thank you, young master! I accept on behalf of my young lady." Huang Shanmei smiled, her eyes narrowing into slits, and repeatedly cupped her hands in thanks.

"It's no big deal. I'll arrange for someone to go with you when you get back," Qin Mu said with a smile and a nod, quite satisfied.

It was indeed a small matter; a flash of inspiration led to an extra source of income. The Huang family landed a good business, while Qin Mu reduced his expenses considerably.

“Brother Qin…” Huang Sanjian called out hesitantly.

"Brother Huang, are you also interested in getting involved?" Qin Mu asked. He had assumed Huang Sanjian and Huang Yuqi were from the same family, but judging from his words, it seemed he had been wrong.

“Yes, my family has some influence in Chengdu and wants to get involved. Don’t worry, you won’t be shortchanged on your share,” Huang Sanjian said sincerely.

"This is the son of the Huang family in Chengdu, a descendant of the Marquis Gang; this is the second son of the Zhang family in Jianmen Pass," Huang Shan introduced.

Upon hearing this, Qin Mu had no recollection of the name Huang Sanjian, but suddenly remembered it and raised an eyebrow, asking with considerable surprise, "Could he be the Marquis of Guannei, a descendant of General Han Sheng?"

“It was indeed our ancestor!” Huang Sanjian nodded slightly.

"My apologies! I am not familiar with Sichuan. Since you two have this intention, you can ask Miss Yuqi for her opinion. As long as she agrees, I will have no objection even if we build a restaurant in every city in Sichuan." Qin Mu said, cupping his hands.

"Thank you, young master!" Huang Shan looked at Qin Mu gratefully and bowed to him.

Qin Mu put Huang Yuqi in charge, which meant that the Huang family was to do favors for each other. Moreover, he was referring to the entire Shu region, which meant that the Huang family could form alliances with whomever they wanted. The favors involved would be numerous.

"Thank you very much, Brother Qin!" Huang Sanjian thanked him with a grateful smile. Although the Huang family of Chengdu was a prominent family in Chengdu, they only possessed a small amount of ancestral property and did not have much real influence.

"You son of a bitch! What are you standing there for!" Huang Sanjian turned around, rolled his eyes, and cursed.

"What are you doing! You're cursing at me again!" Zhang Yi asked, bewildered.

"Why don't you thank Brother Qin!" Huang Sanjian reminded him.

"Oh! You mean my family gets a share too?" Zhang Yi seemed to just come to his senses and looked at Qin Mu with surprise.

"Didn't you hear? Brother Qin already said that we can all do it!" Huang Sanjian said angrily.

"Oh, thank you so much, Brother Qin!" Zhang Yi blushed and hurriedly thanked him. He hadn't been paying attention just now; his attention was focused on the furniture in the room.

"You're welcome!" Qin Mu smiled and waved his hand, then introduced the features of the room to them.

Mattresses, sofas, tables and chairs, bookshelves, wardrobes—these were all things they had never seen before. After experiencing them, they understood their benefits, and their smiles grew even brighter.

"You've all had a long and tiring journey, so I won't disturb your rest any longer. Tomorrow, I'll arrange for someone to show you around Chang'an. I have some matters to attend to at the yamen and cannot accompany you personally, so please forgive me," Qin Mu said, clasping his hands in greeting.

"It's alright! It's alright! Young Master Qin, please go ahead with your work!" the three quickly replied.

"Alright! Everyone in this restaurant is one of us. If you need anything, just let me know. If you need to find me, you can tell them, or you can come to the Qin family." Qin Mu instructed.

"Okay! Okay!" The three nodded and smiled again.

"This young master Qin is really too kind!" Zhang Yi exclaimed as he watched Qin Mu walk out of the restaurant.

"Yes! The eldest son of the Duke of Yi is certainly extraordinary! He truly deserves to be called the son of Qin Shubao, who rivals Mengchang!" Huang Sanjian nodded slightly.

"What! He's the son of Qin Shubao, the Divine Fist Master!" Zhang Yi exclaimed.

"You son of a bitch, what have you been thinking about all day! Weren't we going to the Duke of Yi's mansion today? Are you blind?!" Huang Sanjian glared and cursed. The two families were old friends, and Zhang Yi was a generation younger than him, so he wasn't worried about Zhang Yi getting angry when he cursed him.

"I didn't know that the Duke of Yi was the Divine Fist Protector," Zhang Yi muttered.

Huang Sanjian rolled his eyes speechlessly at his nephew. If he didn't know that his nephew was a carefree guy, he would have wanted to slap him to death.

"I've heard that Young Master Qin has only been in Chang'an for less than half a year," Huang Shan said pointedly.

"Going home for half a year? Impressive! This restaurant looks newly renovated, right? Could it be that he had it renovated?" Zhang Yi exclaimed in amazement. Although he was carefree, he wasn't stupid, so he quickly guessed something.

All three of them had guessed some of it, but they didn't think too much about it, since they had already become partners.

The three of them had been traveling for a long time and were under a lot of mental pressure. Now that they had delivered the goods, they were able to relax and felt tired. So they said goodbye and went back to their rooms to rest.

Not to mention Qin Mu returning home, they received even more medicinal herbs from the Qin family that afternoon. Huang Sanjian and the others slept soundly and enjoyed a delicious breakfast the next day. Before they could even leave, a young man, accompanied by two guards, appeared before them.

"Are you all guests from Sichuan?" The newcomer looked very young, but spoke with great politeness.

"Indeed! May I ask what brings you here, young master?" Huang Sanjian asked, bowing respectfully.

"Brother Qin asked me to be your guide!"

"Thank you! May I ask your name, sir?"

"My name is Yuchi Baoqing!"

"Yuchi? Could it be from the Duke of E's mansion?" Huang Sanjian asked, having some guesses in mind, thinking that Qin Qiong and Yuchi Gong were familiar with each other.

"Yes! That's my father!"

"Disrespect, disrespect!"

“No need to be polite. You are Brother Qin’s friends, so you are my friends too! Tell me, where do you want to go?” Yuchi Baoqing asked, shaking his head slightly.

“We’d like to purchase some things to transport back to Shu. It’s a small matter, so there’s no need to trouble you, young master,” Huang Shan said hastily, not expecting Qin Mu to find him a duke’s son as a guide.

"That's easy! What do you want to buy? Just give me a list!" Yuchi Baoqing said casually. He was very familiar with the prices in Chang'an, so what Huang Shan asked for was a trivial matter to him.
