"A bamboo flute, please!" Qin Mu said after thinking for a moment. The guqin was too troublesome and inconvenient to carry; a bamboo flute was the best choice, and it looked quite elegant. As for the xiao (vertical flute), Qin Mu only liked others playing it. Originally, he had the peculiar idea of using a suona (a double-reed horn), but then he thought better of it. For the eldest son of the Duke of Yi, to bring out a suona would surely make him a laughingstock.
"Okay! I can also play the bamboo flute a little. I'll bring it over tomorrow and teach you. I'll also prepare for painting." Qin Yue agreed, then hurriedly left.
He had his own farm long ago, which he used to research how to improve people's lives. He didn't want to wait until the reservoir was built before starting to build fishponds; he could have done it much earlier. This small matter was not difficult for him.
After Qin Yue left, Qin Mu resumed his practice, recalling the miscellaneous chapters recorded in the secret manuals and treasure books.
Guiguzi was proficient in medicine, divination, and astrology. As for the arts of music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, Qin Mu understood that he couldn't be too bad at them either.
It's a pity that the arts of music, chess, calligraphy, and painting are not recorded in it. It's unclear whether Guiguzi looked down on them or considered them unnecessary. As for medicine, divination, and astrology, the manual clearly states that a certain level of cultivation is required before one can practice them. Otherwise, one is easily susceptible to backlash.
Now, all he can learn is medicine, specifically the medical arts of the Guigu School, which is actually the art of incantation healing. He begins by mentioning that humans live by consuming the energy of heaven and earth, suffering internal injuries from the seven emotions of joy, anger, worry, grief, fear, and shock, and external injuries from the six pathogenic factors of wind, cold, heat, dampness, dryness, and fire. The balance of the five elements is disrupted, the spirit is disturbed, and yin and yang are out of balance.
The art of incantation healing does involve the use of medicine, but it is used much less frequently compared to traditional medicine. The medical techniques of the Guigu School also emphasize observation, auscultation, inquiry, and palpation for diagnosis, but they use incantation healing techniques for treatment. However, precisely because of this, learning it is not something that can be done in a short time.
Whether it's feasible or not, learning before practicing is always the right thing to do. Speaking of medical books, Qin Mu had actually read some ancient texts for his illness, although they were all online versions, so he wasn't completely ignorant. At least he recognized quite a few medicinal herbs... (image).
Having too much to learn isn't necessarily a good thing, as mastering anything requires a significant investment of time and effort. However, for Qin Mu, the key is practice. He shouldn't waste time learning abstract concepts and grand theories; practicing the fundamentals is definitely the best option.
Forgetting the possibility of instant success, Qin Mu set a plan for himself: to practice swordsmanship, archery, music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, and to begin learning medicine by familiarizing himself with the human body.
Of course, another item is also being put on the agenda: the Seven Arts of Yin and Yang, and the Five Dragons Divine Enhancement Technique. The spiritual energy has already entered the Qi Sea, which can be considered the initial stage, and one can now cultivate the Five Dragons Divine Enhancement Technique.
With the aid of the Five Elements Pills, taking five pills at a time, Qin Mu stripped naked, assumed a horse stance, closed his eyes, and began to silently circulate his inner energy.
This wasn't because he wanted to practice in such a shameful way, but rather a requirement for beginners. The Five Dragons Divine Enhancement Technique involves absorbing the five elements' energy through the nine orifices to temper the internal organs, nourish the body, and balance the five elements. Upon successful cultivation, one can utilize the five elements' energy, separating and combining it as needed. Based on the principle of the five elements' mutual generation, it allows the spiritual energy within the body to arise spontaneously.
The power of the Five Elements Elixir dissipated, and as the mental cultivation method circulated, the spiritual energy of the five colors—green, red, yellow, gold, and black—flowed through the consciousness, rushing towards the liver and gallbladder; heart and small intestine; spleen and stomach; large intestine; and kidneys and bladder, respectively.
Not only that, but spiritual energy also enters the body through the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, tongue, the five senses and the two orifices of the lower body; I don’t know why the mental technique is so magical, this Five Dragons Divine Power Technique only draws spiritual energy of the five elements into the body, most of the spiritual energy goes to the five internal organs and six bowels, and some dissipates in the flesh and bones.
Within the Qihai acupoint, the five elements of spiritual energy also emerged. This time, they did not travel through the meridians or blood vessels, but simply dispersed from within the body to various organs. Like a human body floating in space, they slowly separated and drifted in a general direction. Some disappeared midway, merging into the flesh and blood, while others eventually reached their destination and entered the internal organs.
Within his divine sense, there was a great deal of spiritual energy, with five-colored light spots floating all over his body. However, this was all the power of the Five Elements Pill. Once the medicinal effect wore off, only the Five Elements power absorbed through the nine orifices would remain, and the amount would decrease significantly.
Sensing the faint starlight slowly entering his body from the air, Qin Mu stopped his cultivation. He finally understood why he needed to use the Five Elements Pill to assist his cultivation; simply absorbing the five elements' energy on his own was far too slow—perhaps a year wouldn't be as fast as absorbing spiritual energy in a single night.
Although the spiritual energy of heaven and earth is abundant, its composition is also very complex. Generally, cultivators absorb it all into their Qi Sea and then refine it there, which is much faster. Whether it's the Five Elements Qi or the Righteous Qi, it is indeed much slower. However, the great Confucian scholars have come up with many other methods to cultivate the Righteous Qi, which is the most ingenious aspect. Qin Mu estimates that this is also why Confucianism can stand alone as a distinct school of thought.
Although spiritual energy is subdivided and cultivation is difficult, Qin Mu estimated that its power should be stronger; otherwise, why would the Qin family's five elemental warriors be feared by the orcs? His own soldiers, conjured from his righteous energy, weren't having much trouble blocking those whose cultivation was clearly higher than his.
Qin Mu's current cultivation of righteous energy involves reading and relaxing the righteous energy within his body and blood vessels. He hasn't stopped cultivating spiritual energy either; his meridians are still being opened and then nourished for three days. However, when he was working on the second meridian, he discovered that opening just one meridian was impossible. It was a completely slow and painstaking process.
With the cultivation of spiritual energy, Qin Mu's Qi Sea acupoint had grown considerably. As a member of the Ghost Valley lineage, he naturally needed to refine the spiritual energy within his Qi Sea, which made Qin Mu's entire night exceptionally fulfilling. However, he remembered Qin Yue's words that cultivation could not replace sleep, so in the latter half of the night, he sat quietly, cleared his mind, relaxed his body and mind, and allowed himself to enter a deep sleep.
He slept soundly through the night, and when he woke up again, he felt refreshed and full of energy. Qin Mu dressed and went to the garden.
After mastering the Xi Yi Sword Technique, he doesn't plan to practice the Fierce Bird Dispersion Technique first. Instead, he will begin learning the Fu Xiong Dividing Power Technique, where the five elements of spiritual energy enter his body to temper his physical form. This is the prerequisite for practicing the Fu Xiong Dividing Power Technique.
The bear, in its fighting style, always lies low before striking; this is called "the hidden bear." Distributing power doesn't mean scattering one's might, but rather concealing it. First, one must conceal one's inner thoughts. Inner peace stabilizes the mind, allowing the spirit to concentrate without outward display, thus concealing one's power. Once this concealed power is strong, one's internal strength becomes formidable; with formidable strength, one becomes invincible. Reaching invincibility, one can then unleash this dispersed power upon the target. Once unleashed, it can effectively intimidate the opponent, like the might of heaven, unstoppable.
The Fuxiong Dividing Power Method has a concept of using stillness to control movement, but it is slightly different from the Fuxiong Dividing Power Method, which emphasizes striking first after the opponent has moved. The Fuxiong Dividing Power Method emphasizes the power of thunder, aiming to kill with a single blow.
Guiguzi not only applied his spirit to military strategy, but also to techniques, using his power to overwhelm others and leveraging all his advantages to attack his opponents' weaknesses.
The Fuxiong Fenwei Method, combined with the Zhiniao Sanshi Method, constitutes the most powerful close-combat ability of the Seven Yin Fu Techniques in this classic text.
Silently recalling his thoughts, Qin Mu gathered his strength, circulated his spiritual energy, and with a light step, his body soared into the air like a great bird. In mid-air, his fists guarded his chest like the sharp claws of an eagle, concealed yet ready to strike. Only when he was about to land did he suddenly strike out, then used the momentum to fly backward.
Qin Mu landed back in the same spot, as if he had never moved, but in front of him, with a "crack!" sound, a small bowl-sized ornamental tree was snapped in half.
You know, it's easy to cut a tree in half with a sword, but Qin Mu just used his fist to break the tree, which is difficult.
It was very powerful, but Qin Mu knew he hadn't fully utilized the Fuxiong Dividing Power Technique. His buildup was obvious; his opponent, paying even a little attention, would have known he was about to attack and couldn't have stood still. He hadn't achieved the intended concealment of the divided power.
The true essence of the "Bird of Prey Dispersion Technique" was not utilized. At the last moment, he only launched one attack. If he didn't use the momentum to retreat, the technique would lose its effect. The true "Bird of Prey Dispersion Technique," while its first strike is the most ruthless and sudden, is followed by fierce attacks, making it impossible to return empty-handed. This is the true power of a hawk—sharp and valiant.
However, Qin Mu was not dissatisfied. After all, this was his first time using it, and he was already very satisfied to be able to knock down a sizable tree trunk with one punch. This was something he would never have dared to dream of before.
However, he only has the strength for one strike now. Just now, he used not only spiritual energy, but also the strength of his waist, legs, arms, and wrists. His essence, energy, and spirit were all combined. The burden on his body from that one strike was not small.
Forces are reciprocal. When a tremendous force strikes out, an equal force is reflected back to the body, causing Qin Mu to stagger and feel a significant shock to his internal organs. Only then did he understand why he had to cultivate the Five Dragons Divine Power Technique first.
If he hadn't taken the Five Elements Pill to temper his body last night, he estimated he would have suffered internal injuries from this.
Even without using his fists or weapons, this strike still put a considerable strain on his body. The Fuxiong Dividing Power Technique uses the Bear Strike technique to kill the enemy; just think of the strong physique of a bear, and you'll understand why. The Fierce Bird Dispersing Force Technique, when used in conjunction, can deflect force, but this is still quite unfamiliar to Qin Mu.
He was satisfied with the power, so he continued his training, but he no longer damaged the trees in the garden. He simply focused on accumulating and distributing his power. Long ago, he had heard a principle that a true master could predict the direction of an attack by observing the slightest movements of his opponent's body. It seemed that the Fuxiong Distributing Power Technique was designed to conceal this weakness, hiding not only physical movements but also mental fluctuations.
