Chapter 63 The Seven Secret Arts of the Classic

These sixty jade boxes contained elixirs specially prepared by Wei Liaozi. Regardless of the cultivation method, the most crucial element is a strong body. There were elixirs specifically for the physical body, such as the Marrow Cleansing Elixir, Body Tempering Elixir, and Ice Skin Jade Bone Elixir; there were also Elixirs for enhancing spiritual awareness and nourishing mental strength, such as the Soul Essence Elixir and Spirit Enhancement Elixir.

Judging from the prepared pills and the stockpile of ordinary pills, it was clear that alchemy was something the Ghost Valley Sect excelled at. This made Qin Mu even more eager to learn.

Descending to the fourth level, which was the area for disciples to exchange skills and practice, the entire space was a huge plaza. Now, this 20,000 square meter area was piled high with all sorts of weapons and armor, most of them in tattered condition. Ten boxes on a nearby stone bench caught Qin Mu's attention; after all, placed separately, they must contain valuable items.

Instead of taking it out to look at it immediately, Qin Mu first went to check the bottom floor, which was also the largest floor. This floor was where the Ghost Valley Sect received foreign guests, entertained friends, and gave lectures. Unfortunately, apart from the furniture, there was nothing else.

After inspecting the entire room, Qin Mu withdrew his divine sense. With a flick of his eyes, ten large boxes appeared inside. Within the Sumeru Space, the contents could be seen, but their true nature could only be determined by taking them out and experiencing them firsthand.

Upon opening the first box, Qin Mu found a set of leather armor inside. He couldn't tell the material or the style was rough, and he couldn't discern its quality. However, he was certain it was a good piece of equipment, so he simply put it back.

Four chests in a row were filled with various styles of leather armor, including two sets that looked like women's armor. Slightly disappointed, Qin Mu opened the last two chests together, looked down, and couldn't help but smile.

The box contained metal artifacts, which appeared to be bronze, and were the same bronze armor he had received from the secret realm, exuding a mysterious aura.

Two items were taken out of the box: a breastplate and a battle skirt. Qin Mu examined them, then took out the wrist guards, shoulder pads, and mask, and was surprised to find that they were a set.

Because when these items are placed together, it's clear that not only are they made of the same material, but their patterns also share the same style. Putting them together creates an overall sense of mystery and a unique metallic texture. He also really liked the design; although it might seem a bit odd for a Confucian scholar to wear armor, it would be nice to collect and occasionally wear out to show off. You can't help it, boys always have a deep love for metal weapons and armor.

In high spirits, Qin Mu put away his belongings and then looked at the most important book. The two volumes of the book were like emeralds, and when unfolded, they were about the same size as ordinary bamboo slips.

"Guiguzi" is the name of the book. The book contains no words; it must be viewed with divine sense. Concentrate your mind and enter the book with your divine sense.

"I am Wang Xu, and my wife and I live in seclusion in Guigu Valley. People call me Master Guigu because of this. In the past, I traveled all over the world and exchanged ideas with many masters. This book is divided into two parts. The first part records the words and opinions of all the masters I have exchanged ideas with; the second part is my summary. The first part is about the Dao, the second part is about rites, the third part is about humanity, the fourth part is about the state, the fifth part is about Yin and Yang, and the sixth part is about something else. With these six parts, I created the School of Diplomacy."

Within his consciousness, a gentle yet authoritative voice rang out, and then Qin Mu felt lines of text appear before his eyes one after another.

Qin Mu then realized that this treasure book was actually a classic text of the School of Diplomacy, and he also learned how to use the treasure book to study.

The table of contents that just appeared in the manual, with both the first and second parts, can be viewed, but you can only start learning from the beginning. The manual is called a "treasure manual" not only because it is valuable and has explanations from its creator, but also because it is convenient to learn from; you can even do it while lying in bed, and it doesn't consume mental energy. You can study all night and still be full of energy the next day.

Qin Mu put down Guiguzi with satisfaction and picked up another book to examine.

"The Seven Arts of Yin and Yang"—this is the title of the classic text. At the same time, Guiguzi's voice rang out again.

"This is all that I have learned. The first part is the Way, the second part is the Techniques, and the outer part is Miscellaneous Learning. The Divine Way is a unified whole, using change to discuss the myriad things, explaining the infinite meanings. I observe the opening and closing of Yin and Yang to name things, know the gateways of existence and extinction, plan the beginning and end of all things, understand the principles of the human heart, see the signs of change, and guard its gateways. Therefore, I take Yin and Yang as the Great Way, the Five Elements as the foundation, follow the changes of the seasons, and unite with nature to achieve the infinite."

Its techniques are seven: First, the Five Dragons Technique for Enhancing Divine Power; second, the Spirit Turtle Technique for Nourishing Will; third, the Flying Serpent Technique for Realizing Intent; fourth, the Subduing Bear Technique for Dividing Power; fifth, the Bird of Prey Technique for Dispersing Force; sixth, the Fierce Beast Technique for Circling and Turning; and seventh, the Spirit Yarrow Technique for Losing Energy. …………

After hearing the brief introduction, Qin Mu was filled with admiration for Guiguzi. His two treasured books covered everything, including the most important aspects of cultivation. The first book, the Seven Arts of Yin Fu, not only cultivated the five internal organs and six bowels, but also strengthened the body, provided movement techniques and skills, and included methods for cultivating mental strength and soul defense.

The Five Dragons Divine Enhancement Method draws upon the spiritual energy of heaven and earth through the nine orifices of the human body to temper the internal organs, making the person not only strong in internal organs but also possessing all five elements in their body, allowing them to use the power of the five elements.

The Spirit Turtle Nourishing Will Method is a way to temper one's spirit and soul, which not only strengthens the spirit and soul but also promotes longevity.

The Tengshe True Intent Method is a method of mental attack and defense, as well as a way to temper one's mental strength.

The Fuxiong Dividing Power Method is a method for cultivating the physical body, and it is also a close-combat offensive and defensive technique.

The "Bird of Prey Dispersion Method" is a body technique that allows one to be as agile and fierce as a bird of prey.

The Fierce Beast Turning Circle Method is a method for cultivating spiritual energy.

The Lingyizhe Loss and Exchange Method involves various special techniques.

Guiguzi was not only skilled in these areas; his so-called miscellaneous learning included things like the mechanical arts of the Mohists, the swordsmanship of the Confucians, the military formations of the strategists, and the alchemy of the Daoists. Because he only recorded parts of these, and they were techniques rather than the true principles, he called them miscellaneous learning.

He also said that the principles of the two classic texts are actually common to all other schools of thought. The biggest difference between them lies in their core principles. For example, the Mohist school's principle of "stopping war" is one of their central ideas and their principle. Even if everyone practices the same way, the effects of their practice will be different because of their different principles.

Qin Mu studied Guiguzi in another world, but the only information he could obtain was a very small amount of fragments, which were recorded by later generations and it was unknown whether they were accurate.

However, regardless of who it is or what the record is, everyone says that Guiguzi was an extraordinary person, whose skills were second to none among all schools of thought.

Military strategists revered him as a sage, diplomats as their ancestor, fortune tellers as their patriarch, strategists as a master strategist, scientists as their forefather, legalists as their master, logicians as their patriarch, and Taoism places him alongside Laozi, honoring him as Wang Chan Laozu.

This is another world's respectful title for Guiguzi. Of course, this world is not quite that exaggerated, but from the information left by Wei Liaozi, we can know that a thousand years ago, countless people from various families went to visit him and seek out masters to discuss the Dao.
