Chapter 111 Bloodbath

"I don't know," Qin Yue replied solemnly. He had also noticed the monster's extraordinary nature; it was extremely intelligent, not only knowing how to dodge weapons but also trying to avoid footsteps.

"You don't know!" Qin Mu said in surprise. He assumed Qin Yue was from Juyong Pass, and that he would definitely recognize the monsters appearing in the vicinity.

“Never seen one! Never even heard of one. A monster with five tails and horns.” Qin Yue frowned.

"Get back!" Bu Mang shouted from the front.

The guards and Qin Yue realized they couldn't handle the situation, so they quickly regrouped, grabbed their weapons, helped the wounded man, and retreated.

With a loud "bang!" like a stone being struck, the monster's mouth let out a sound. It stared fiercely at the crowd, its body hunched over, clearly ready to attack at any moment.

"Is Xiaoyue alright?" Qin Yue asked with concern.

"I'm fine."

"Where did this monster come from?"

"I don't know. I was watching carefully, but I didn't see it. It suddenly jumped out from behind that rock," Qin Yue explained, pointing with her finger.

Ahead, Bu Mang was locked in battle with the monster again. The more they watched, the more alarmed they became. The monster and Bu Mang were evenly matched, their claws clashing with the scimitar several times. It seemed that the bloodthirsty aura had no effect on it at all, and it was not at a disadvantage.

Seeing that he couldn't defeat the beast, Bu Mang seemed to feel somewhat ashamed and shouted, "Kill!" His scimitar, glowing with blood-red light, charged towards the monster.

The monster seemed to sense the threat as well. Its five tails stood upright, and spiritual energy suddenly gathered towards it. Then, a beam of clear light shot out from its single horn and struck Bu Mang.

With a loud "bang!", a flash of light appeared, and Bu Mang flew backward and fell.

"Brother Bu!" Qin Mu exclaimed and rushed over with his sword.

Seeing that even the strongest fighter, Bu Mang, couldn't defeat them, the others dared not stand idly by and picked up their weapons again to charge forward.

With a loud "bang!", Qin Mu felt his arm snap, and the sword almost slipped from his hand. A tremendous force came from the sword, causing him to involuntarily stagger backward.

A force came from behind and caught Qin Mu, who was about to fall. He turned around and saw Bu Mang.

"Brother Bu, you're injured!" Qin Mu asked with concern, noticing the blood at the corner of Bu Mang's mouth.

"It's nothing serious, just a minor injury. Be careful," Bu Mang reminded him.

"Hmm." Qin Mu nodded solemnly. Although they had only exchanged blows, he had already felt the monster's power.

Although he acted hastily, he had already used the Fierce Bird Dispersing Power Technique and the Subduing Hero Dividing Power Technique. Even without gathering momentum, that strike was his current peak close combat ability. Now, he only has 40% of the spiritual energy left in his Qi Sea, and his right arm is sore and weak as if he has been overworked.

Fortunately, the monster had just unleashed its power and seemed to be a little weak, allowing Qin Yue and the others to hold it off.

"What incredible defensive capabilities!" Qin Yue, who had fallen to the ground and gotten up covered in dust, exclaimed with a pained expression, rubbing his back.

To be fair, apart from Bu Mang, the others in this group, while not exceptionally strong, certainly possessed formidable weapons. However, Qin Mu's sword strike on the monster's claw had no effect whatsoever. The others' swords fared the same way, unable to even pierce its skin.

Feeling a bit better in my arm, I endured the discomfort, took out my thick, golden wolf-hair century-old orchid and bamboo brush, and, drawing upon my inner strength, began to write in mid-air.

As Qin Mu wrote the secret scroll poems more often, he gained a deeper understanding of this attack method. Previously, he had to concentrate his entire mind and energy to do it, but now it was much easier. He could feel that he could gradually control the strength of his righteous energy as he wrote.

Facing the enemy, he could not hold back, so he increased his investment of righteous energy.

"Phew!" Qin Mu put down his pen and let out a long breath. Then he felt his body go limp and he almost fell to the ground.

"Are you alright?" Fortunately, Qin Yue, who was paying attention to him, caught him and helped him up.

"It's alright!" Qin Mu replied, his eyes fixed on the secret scroll of poetry he had created, which he had almost exhausted his vital energy to produce, to see how effective it was.

As the aura of righteousness emanated, a milky-white light spread out, and more than thirty soldiers materialized. Although the number hadn't increased much, Qin Mu still noticed something different. This time, the soldiers were taller and more clearly defined, and their weapons were considerably longer, especially the bows and arrows, whose righteous aura glow was slightly dazzling.

The magical soldiers attacked the monster as soon as they appeared, while archers drew their bows and fired arrows, striking the monster with lightning speed.

The soldiers who had been conjured up were so skilled with arrows that Qin Mu could only envy them; they were even able to shoot down monsters from among the besieging crowd.

"Bang!" The sound, like a sledgehammer striking a rock, came from the monster's mouth. Although the meaning was unclear, it was clear that it was crying out in pain.

"It's afraid of spiritual energy attacks!" Qin Yue exclaimed in delight.

Even if she hadn't said anything, everyone else had already noticed the problem, and they immediately erupted, their weapons glowing with various colors as they slashed forward.

This put the monster in a difficult position, instantly gaining several wounds. Moreover, with the soldiers formed from the aura of righteousness surrounding it, its space to move became smaller, undoubtedly preventing it from utilizing its speed advantage.

The monster, of course, would not sit idly by and wait to be killed. It immediately launched a counterattack, its five tails lashing wildly and its claws slashing fiercely.

It has to be said, this monster is truly powerful. Qin Yue and the others were fortunate enough to know how to dodge and not to take the blows head-on. The soldiers, formed from the aura of righteousness, only had the instinct to attack. They were repeatedly knocked away by the monster, their bodies becoming illusory, and some even dissipating completely.

Of course! They weren't useless either; their attacks inflicted even more wounds on the monster. Furthermore, Qin Yue and the others launched their own attacks under the cover of these soldiers.

The archers were responsible for inflicting the most damage on the monsters, with arrows formed from their righteous energy striking them.

However, these archers had a drawback: the arrows they fired were actually their own vital energy. With each arrow fired, a portion of their energy was consumed. After firing thirty arrows, their bodies became like projections, allowing them to see the other side through their gaze. As the last arrow was fired, they finally vanished, as if they had never existed in this world, leaving nothing behind.

The burst of spiritual energy attack brought considerable burdens. Qin Yue and the others frantically took advantage of the chaos, and were subsequently all killed! The soldiers formed from the righteous energy were also gone, and even the hawks and hounds were all dead. Fortunately, the monster didn't fare much better; its body was covered in blood, and its five tails drooped weakly.

"Die!" Xiangli Yanran shouted, raised her heavy sword, leaped up, and slashed down at the monster's head.
