Xie Xiao scoffed, "You're still dreaming? You want to kill me and my brothers? Absolutely not in this lifetime. And what about the deaths of General Li and his son? Dare you say you weren't involved?"
"What did you say—" A flicker of confusion crossed the Prince of Jiangning's eyes.
Xie Xiao narrowed his eyes; there was something wrong with this Prince Jiangning.
He then sneered, "Neither you nor your imperial brother are good people. You were willing to sacrifice a loyal and brave general for the sake of a magic duel."
Unfortunately, he returned too late and was unable to save the father and son.
The Prince of Jiangning seemed utterly shocked, "Nonsense."
“That Deputy General Yang is actually one of your men,” Xie Xiao said. “Am I right, Your Highness?”
When Li Ruo rushed over, that was the first thing she heard: "What did you say?"
The Prince of Jiangning took two steps back. "Men, kill Xie Xiao."
Xie Xiao's eyes flashed with murderous intent, "Kill me? Today I'll make you pay for their lives."
After the initial shock, Li Ruo was filled with rage and raised her pistol to fire at the Prince of Jiangning.
A guard nearby blocked the bullet, and with a bang, the bullet struck the guard in the chest.
She and Xie Xiao, one on each side, relentlessly took down two more of his guards.
However, the Prince of Jiangning was highly skilled in martial arts and had many guards around him. He jumped onto another boat and had archers block his way.
“Li Ruo, I originally wanted to recruit you, but now that you know, there’s nothing more to say. What a pity.” A murderous glint flashed in the eyes of the Prince of Jiangning. “Kill them all.”
Suddenly, countless burly men emerged from beneath the ship and, like spiders, boarded the Prince of Jiangning's vessel, instantly slaughtering the archers.
These are water spiders specially trained by Xie Xiao, lying in ambush in the water, waiting for this moment.
The Prince of Jiangning was hit in the shoulder by a hook.
"How about it? Do you understand the pain the Fourth Master felt that day?" Xie Xiao laughed sarcastically, and slashed down with his halberd like lightning.
The guards of the Prince of Jiangning fought their way through the enemy lines before heading to another boat. "Quickly, back to Qinghua Mountain."
If Li Ruo is so unpredictable, dragging out the battle will be disadvantageous for them.
Song Zhijing was in a similar predicament. Filled with hatred, he ordered his men to quickly row the boat away, thinking that as long as the green hills remain, there will always be firewood to burn.
"Retreat? Dream on!"
Li Ruo changed the magazine in the gun and drove the motorboat to intercept them ahead, while Xie Xiao and his men rowed after them from behind.
Just as the Prince of Jiangning was about to leave, he ordered his men to turn the bow of the ship around, when suddenly he froze, goosebumps rising all over his body.
Three large ships, even bigger than their own, sped towards them on the water ahead. Black banners fluttered in the wind on the ships, bearing the large character "Li"!
