Bedmates
"Chen Peiyuan?!" You pointed at him in astonishment, not understanding why he suddenly appeared in your room.
"Shouldn't you be at home?"
Chen Peiyuan opened the door and brought up the things he was carrying. "I'm also here on a business trip. I heard you were staying here, so I came." He smiled broadly, seemingly in a very good mood.
"You came by plane?" He nodded, so when you called him then, you didn't mishear the background noise of the plane's flight announcement; he really was at the airport.
You followed him into the room and asked him how he got in. He put his things on the table and said, "Secretary Liu helped me explain the situation at the front desk. The hotel was out of rooms, and this place was too remote. The front desk understood our relationship and gave me another room card." The room card was on the table.
You glanced over and saw Chen Peiyuan's actions. He opened the thing he had just been carrying. It was a thermal container. As soon as he twisted it open, a delicious aroma wafted out. Upon closer inspection, it was seafood porridge.
You are shocked again, pointing at it, "How did you bring this along?"
Chen Peiyuan smiled without saying a word, but simply scooped out a bowl and handed it to you, saying, "Try it. I think you'd like to eat it too, so I brought it over."
The bowl was still steaming. You took a spoonful and put it in your mouth, letting it slide down your throat, through your esophagus, and into your stomach. It was warm and comforting all the way, and you were satisfied.
You ate Chen Peiyuan's cooking again today. "Delicious!" you praised him, giving him a thumbs up.
Chen Peiyuan sat on the other side of the table, watching you quickly stuff food into your mouth. He held up a piece of paper and said, "Drink carefully, there's more." He felt as sweet as if he had made honey.
"Burp, I'm so full." You pat your tummy and accidentally let out a burp. Your stomach is already round and full. You drank two bowls of rice and are now so full that you can only sit on the stool.
Damn it, Chen Peiyuan was actually chuckling. You saw him by the sink, making strange noises. You couldn't help but clench your fist. He was clearly laughing at you because he heard your burp.
"Chen Peiyuan, don't laugh. It's all your fault. Who told you to make it so delicious?" you gritted your teeth.
Chen Peiyuan chuckled, "Alright, it's all my fault. I know I was wrong. Lanlan, please forgive me."
"Hmph, I'll forgive you this time."
Upon hearing this, Chen Peiyuan lowered his head to wash the dishes, a smile playing on his lips. Lanlan looked so cute.
After he finished washing the dishes, he dropped a bombshell that hit you like a bolt from the blue.
"Lanlan, where am I sleeping tonight?"
Where to sleep~
Na~
You stare at each other, wondering, "Is there no room left in the hotel? He can't possibly sleep here."
Liu: Mr. Chen, I just asked. The hotel reception said that they are currently on holiday, so all the rooms are full and there are no extra rooms available. Perhaps you could squeeze in with us, Mr. Chen? Maybe there will be some rooms available tomorrow.
Should we squeeze in, a man and a woman, in this one-bedroom apartment?
You glance at your phone, then at Chen Peiyuan, who's tilting his head and looking at you, and feel a little helpless.
like,
I guess I'll have to sleep in your room.
But things seem to have taken a bit beyond your expectations.
You're sitting in that chair now, on the verge of tears, unwilling to face this reality.
Why is this bathroom glass semi-transparent?!
Chen Peiyuan is taking a shower inside! How can you remind him? It seems too late. Tears well up inside you.
Just now, Chen Peiyuan finished packing his clothes and went into the bathroom. At that time, you were busy with some things on the computer. After you finished, you looked up and saw a white, naked body. The impact was too great, and you shouted "Ah!" The sound of water was still gushing. The person inside seemed not to hear your voice because of the loud water.
You stood stiffly, your back turned, the rushing water still echoing. You could even hear him pressing the pump to squeeze out foam. Most of your body was reflected in the glass door, his strong arms bent as he moved, and...
You pat your face, telling yourself not to think any further; you can already feel your face burning hot.
After some time, the door clicked shut. "Lanlan, I'm done washing," came a voice filled with the steam of water.
Chen Peiyuan came out after taking a shower.
This sentence is flashing wildly through your mind. You're tense, afraid to turn around. You don't remember if you replied or not. All you can think about is calming down.
Then, Chen Peiyuan's face appeared in front of you, magnified more than ten times in an instant, and you were so frightened that you stepped back.
Because Chen Peiyuan appeared suddenly, you didn't have time to react. When you came to your senses, you found that your body was no longer under your control. In a panic, you desperately reached out with both hands, trying to grab onto something.
Chen Peiyuan was also startled. "Lanlan, wait, hey, don't." He reached out his hand, not knowing whether he wanted to grab her or try to steady her.
You suddenly sat down on the ground, not knowing what had happened, staring blankly at the thing in your hand, white and soft, it looked like a piece of cloth.
Chen Peiyuan covered his lower body with a blush, not only his face, neck, and arms, but also his whole body, curling up like a cooked red shrimp.
Wait a minute, wait a minute, it seems you pulled Chen Peiyuan's bath towel off, so what you just saw by accident was...
The next second, you screamed, "Aaaaaaah!" and flung the entire bath towel away.
"Lanlan, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Chen Peiyuan quickly picked up the bath towel on the ground and wrapped it around himself.
You sit on the ground, covering your eyes, feeling like you must have gotten a sty at that moment, how could you have seen such a thing?
Even now, when you think of that scene, you still want to scream.
You really can't look Chen Peiyuan, who is standing in front of you, in the eye.
The little person in my heart shattered into pieces.
"Lanlan." Chen Peiyuan squatted down.
Startled, you immediately turned around. "Chen Peiyuan, I need some peace and quiet." Afraid he would speak again, you said, "You pack your things first, I want to rest!"
Chen Peiyuan nodded to himself, then, as if afraid you hadn't seen it, gave a brief reply and walked away.
You hear his footsteps fading away, and your fingers, which were covering your face, peek out from between your fingers to see him go into the bathroom to wash up. You had already washed up beforehand, so as soon as you saw him go in, you immediately got up and ran to the bed to lie down.
You hide under the covers, covering your head, and can clearly feel your face turning bright red. You pat your head, telling yourself not to think about it anymore.
Thinking this, you gradually drifted off to sleep.
"Smack."
Chen Peiyuan stayed in the bathroom until you fell asleep before he came out. He changed into his pajamas, walked to the bedside, and saw a small bulge on the bed. He carefully pulled back the blanket, slowly revealing a red face, as if it had been suffocated by the blanket. He chuckled and folded the blanket to make sure you could breathe.
This was the second time he had seen Lanlan's sleeping face. Her quiet and sweet little face made him reach out and trace her features in the air, from top to bottom. Lanlan was so well-behaved, just like the princess in the fairy tale he had read when he was a child, who could be saved with just a kiss from the prince.
But his Lanlan was not a fragile princess, nor did she need a prince's kiss. He thought dejectedly that perhaps he was the prince who needed a princess to save him.
If only this were home, if only he could sleep in the same bed as Lanlan, in the same bed he had at home, how wonderful that would be, he thought regretfully.
"Hmm, it's so bright."
Upon hearing this, Chen Peiyuan noticed that you unconsciously put your hand over your eyes, trying to block out the glaring light. He immediately got up and turned off the light, leaving only the warm lamps on the two bedside tables.
He slowly lay down, feeling the breath of another person beside him, rising and falling, up and down, and he slowly closed his eyes.
At least tonight, he shared a bed with Lanlan.
He should be satisfied.
Sweet dreams, Lanlan.
It feels so heavy, like something is pressing down on you, so heavy that you can't breathe. You try to push it away several times with your eyes closed, but you can't. That's when you finally open your eyes to see what's pressing down on you.
You open your eyes and the first thing you see is a pitch-black room. Your vision is blurry, your mind is blank, and you can't tell if it's day or night. You lie on the bed with your eyes wide open for a dozen seconds, and then you realize, oh, it's a hotel room.
You hear a slow, gentle breath, and feel the warmth on your face. Someone is lying next to you, and this realization sends shivers down your spine. You quickly sit up and realize that the heavy thing pressing down on you is an arm, wrapped around you through the blanket, preventing you from moving.
You turn around and see Chen Peiyuan. You breathe a sigh of relief; thank goodness it wasn't him.
Wait, why are you relieved? No, what happened to the 38th parallel you drew before going to bed?
"Hmm, Lanlan, good morning." After you pushed him away, his hand touched the bed and bounced back. He woke up and rubbed his eyes, greeting you sleepily.
"How cute!" you suddenly think to yourself. "No, wait a minute. While he's still a bit dazed, interrogate him with 'Why is your hand on me?'" you think you're being serious.
Speaking of this, Chen Peiyuan's fair face wrinkled up, looking aggrieved. "Lanlan, last night, I don't know what happened, you suddenly started kicking and hitting me. I, I couldn't beat you, so I just held you down with my hands."
Last night, at 3 a.m., you suddenly started talking in your sleep and shouting threats. He almost lost control of you and you kicked him in the stomach twice. It still hurts a little.
You stared at his serious expression, dumbfounded. How could this be? She's not a bad sleeper, is she?
"Lanlan?"
"How could this be..." Chen Peiyuan saw that you weren't speaking, and now he was really awake. When he raised his face, a bruise was visible on his chin. You shut up, silently stood up, sat in the chair, and hugged yourself.
You thought you had good sleeping habits, but one night you completely reverted to them. You were even worried that the other person might have some bad habits, so you drew a line down the middle to keep them away.
Unexpectedly, the bad guy was yourself; you withered away.
No matter how Chen Peiyuan called you, you didn't respond. You were feeling emo and wanted some peace and quiet.
