"Oh?" Afang smiled slightly. "It seems this person is no ordinary individual."
"Yes," Ying Zheng smiled as well, "His name is Evil Husband, he's a very interesting person..."
At this point, his voice lowered again: "Because I thought, if I can't find you, then let that palace... commemorate you..."
Afang was stunned. She looked at the ruler of the world before her, yet she could still see in his eyes the boy who had listened to the zither under the eaves years ago.
"Can you still play that piece?" Ying Zheng pointed to the guqin, "The one you used to play most often."
Afang nodded and sat down in front of the zither. Her slender fingers gently touched the strings, and familiar music began to play.
Ying Zheng closed his eyes. In a daze, it seemed as if he had returned to that corridor.
A young man listens to the zither, a young woman plays the zither, finding joy amidst sorrow.
The music gradually stopped.
Ying Zheng could no longer suppress the surging emotions in his heart.
"Afang," he suddenly spoke, "I know your concerns. I am now the ruler of all under heaven... I will never let you suffer the slightest injustice."
"Zheng-ge'er!" A-fang interrupted him, turning and walking into the house. "You rarely come here, I'll make you a cup of tea."
How could she not know Ying Zheng's feelings? She just felt that their statuses were now worlds apart, and that she... was not good enough for him!
Watching her retreating figure, Ying Zheng suddenly remembered something: "Oh, right, I had some blueprints drawn up for the Epang Palace. Would you like to take a look?"
Afang paused, but didn't turn around: "No, there's no need to show me."
"No," Ying Zheng insisted, "That palace was built for you; how can you not take a look?"
Afang finally turned around, looked at the ruler of the world before her, and tears welled up in her eyes.
"Okay," she said softly, "Let me see."
