Chapter 419 Ying Zheng Returns, the Great Casanova!

As dawn broke, the sound of rapid hoofbeats echoed outside Xianyang City.

"Report! His Majesty's carriage has entered Shiliting!"

Upon hearing the news, the wicked husband hurriedly went out of the city to greet him.

Looking into the distance, one could see a troop of cavalry leading the way, followed by Ying Zheng's chariot, rapidly approaching.

"Hehe, Zheng-ge'er's speed... looks like he's really in a hurry," the wicked husband chuckled to himself. "He's usually such a composed person; right now, he probably can't even think about sleeping."

Zhang Erhe whispered from the side, "Grand Commandant, please stop making fun of the King."

"I'm not making fun of you," the wicked man said seriously. "I'm praising our King's loyalty and righteousness!"

The convoy stopped in front of the city gate. Ying Zheng lifted the curtain and asked, "My wicked husband, how is the Queen Consort?" His expression was anxious.

Upon receiving the news, he dared not delay for a moment and rushed back to Xianyang overnight.

This is his eldest son, the future crown prince of Qin, and he cannot afford to have any mishaps!

The wicked husband quickly wiped the smile off his face: "The Princess's condition is stable for now, however..." He hesitated for a moment, then continued, "The Princess seems to know about Miss Afang."

Ying Zheng's expression changed: "This..."

"Don't worry," the wicked husband chuckled inwardly, lowering his voice. "The most important thing now is to protect the child in the Queen's womb. As for Miss Afang, I've already arranged temporary accommodations. We'll discuss that after things are settled here."

Ying Zheng nodded: "Your arrangements are correct. I will go and see the Queen Consort first."

She was about to leave after saying that, but was stopped by her wicked husband: "Wait!"

"Is there anything else?"

"Your Majesty," the wicked husband said solemnly, though inwardly he was secretly delighted, "I suggest you make proper arrangements for Miss Afang."

Why?

"Think about it, what the Princess is most worried about right now is your heart. If you go straight to the inner palace as soon as you return, she will only feel more anxious and guilty."

The wicked husband analyzed earnestly, "Why don't we settle Miss Afang down first? That way, things won't get chaotic on both sides!"

He leaned closer and lowered his voice: "Besides, look at how travel-worn you are. You should at least tidy yourself up before going to see the Princess, shouldn't you?"

Ying Zheng glared at him, knowing the kid was teasing him again, but had to admit he had a point: "Then so be it."

"Alright!" The wicked husband turned to leave.

"Wait!" This time it was Ying Zheng who called out to him, "Where are you going?"

"Isn't it because I have to give you directions?" the scoundrel said innocently. "Besides, how could I be left out of such an 'important' matter?"

Ying Zheng glared at him again, but said nothing.

The wicked husband found a secluded courtyard in the south of the city and temporarily settled Afang there, ordering Zhang Erhe to send heavy troops to guard it.

After taking a stroll around the courtyard, Afang Zaifie was quite satisfied with the environment and went directly to the pavilion in the courtyard to continue playing the zither.

Ying Zheng stood in the courtyard, momentarily unable to move.

The wicked husband watched from the sidelines, amused, thinking to himself, "This man is a man of his word in the court, how come he becomes a coward in front of a beauty?"

"The journey into the city has been bumpy; you should get some rest," Ying Zheng finally said.

Afang stopped playing her zither: "I know about the Princess Consort. Your Majesty, please go and see her. I'm doing well here."

"Afang..."

"Go then," Afang smiled. "I've waited so many years, a little longer won't make a difference."

The wicked husband watched in amazement. Well, this one's a smart one; no wonder Zheng Ge'er has been so hung up on him for so many years.

After leaving the villa, Ying Zheng asked, "What are you grinning about?"

"It's nothing," the wicked husband said seriously. "I was just thinking that Miss Afang truly lives up to your longing for her. Such magnanimity, such grace..."

"Stop with your glib talk!" Ying Zheng said impatiently. "Hurry up and lead the way to the inner palace."

Seeing that everything was in place, the wicked husband stopped talking nonsense and ordered Zhang Erhe to send heavy troops to guard the villa before the two hurriedly returned to Xianyang Palace.

Along the way, the wicked man walked ahead, glancing back at Ying Zheng from time to time. He saw that the supreme ruler of the world was walking with a sense of urgency, and where was his usual majesty?

"Tsk tsk, this is love... I'm still the one who understands life better, I'll never get involved in that kind of love and romance." The wicked husband sighed.

"What did you say?" Ying Zheng asked.

"It's nothing, nothing," the wicked man quickly waved his hand, "The King is back... our student and the Queen are surely safe and sound."

Upon arriving at the inner palace, Mi Ji was lying on the bed, feigning sleep. Seeing Ying Zheng, tears immediately streamed down her face.

"Your Majesty..."

"Don't speak." Ying Zheng grasped her hand. "I know you've been wronged, but the child is still in your womb. You mustn't do this."

Mi Ji shook her head: "I dare not say I am wronged, but I am worried... about the child... if... I fear I will disappoint Your Majesty."

"Nonsense!" Ying Zheng said sternly, "This is my eldest son, absolutely safe and healthy. Don't say such ominous things!"

The wicked husband watched this scene from the side, thinking to himself that Zheng Ge'er's words were brilliant. He was truly a talent, not at all afraid to coax two women.

"The imperial physician said that as long as the princess rests peacefully, the pregnancy can be saved," he interjected at the opportune moment.

Mi Ji finally smiled: "Now that Your Majesty says so, I am relieved."

"Alright," the wicked husband said hastily, seeing that the time was right. "Your Highness should rest. Your Majesty, you've had a long journey too, you should rest as well."

Once outside the palace, the wicked husband said, "Your Majesty, I have something to say, but I'm not sure if I should."
