"boom!"
Another deafening roar followed as the inner city gates were smashed open. Qin soldiers swarmed in and unleashed a frenzied massacre.
"Kill! Leave no one alive!"
The entire inner city became hell. The Qin army was like demons, killing anyone they saw. Those hiding in houses were dragged out and beheaded on the spot. Those hiding in cellars were discovered and burned alive.
"No! We surrender..."
A group of Goryeo nobles knelt and begged for mercy, only to be hacked to death. Their heads were hung on spears, and blood dripped down the shafts, staining the ground red.
In the royal palace, the King of Goryeo, with his last remaining guards, prepared for a desperate last stand.
"Your Majesty..." the guards stammered, "the Qin army has already broken in..."
"Then let us die in battle!" The King of Goryeo drew his sword. "Since we can't live, let's take a few Qin soldiers with us!"
Before he could finish speaking, the doors of the main hall were flung open. Countless Qin soldiers poured in and surrounded the guards.
"Put down your weapons!" The wicked man strode in. "This Grand Commandant wants to see what this reckless King of Goryeo looks like!"
The King of Goryeo gripped his sword tightly, his eyes filled with despair: "You wicked man, you devil! Goryeo has no grudge against you, why must you drive us to extinction?"
"No grudge?" the wicked husband sneered. "You sent assassins into the palace and stole military secrets. These crimes are enough to warrant your death ten thousand times over!"
He drew his longsword: "However, I'm in a good mood today, so I'll grant you a quick death. Kneel down, and I'll grant you a death sentence!"
"Dream on!" the King of Goryeo roared, swinging his sword to strike.
However, he was no match for the wicked husband. A flash of cold light appeared, and the Goryeo king's head had already fallen to the ground, rolling down the steps.
"Give the order to the entire army!" The wicked man wiped the blood from his sword. "Continue the search! This Grand Commandant will make all these Goguryeo people pay with their lives for our Great Qin!"
By evening, the entire capital had fallen.
The streets were littered with corpses, and rivers of blood flowed. It is estimated that this battle alone resulted in the deaths of over 300,000 Goryeo people, almost the entire population of the capital!
"Grand Commandant," Zhang Erhe stepped forward and said, "The capital has been pacified. However, a large number of Goryeo people are still hiding in the mountains..."
"No rush," the wicked man sneered. "They may dodge the first day of the month, but they can't hide forever. Order all departments to continue the search and extermination! This Grand Commandant will make these Goryeo people, like the Japanese, disappear from this land forever!"
Even in the darkness of night, the capital city was still ablaze.
The corpses of countless Koreans were piled up, forming small mountains.
