Meng Ao and Meng Wu watched the battle from a distance, nodding repeatedly in approval at the wicked man's ferocity. Meng Ao laughed, "This boy is indeed extraordinary. If properly nurtured, he will surely become a pillar of our Great Qin!"
Meng Wu nodded and said, "Father is absolutely right. After this battle, we will definitely reward the wicked man handsomely, so that he can forge a good relationship with our Meng family..."
Meng Ao didn't speak, but nodded in agreement. He knew he was getting old, and his only worry was the younger generation. He didn't want his family to decline after his death.
The scene returns to the walls of Jinyang, where the rebels have been completely wiped out, and the ground is littered with corpses, leaving hardly a place to stand.
Dozens of Qin soldiers blocked the breach in the city walls, preventing the rebels from rushing in. This allowed the Qin soldiers, who had just fought a desperate battle, to catch their breath and buy them time to scale the walls.
Standing on the city wall, the wicked man basked in the respectful gazes of the Qin soldiers around him, feeling a surge of satisfaction. He knew that after this battle, he would no longer be an unknown soldier, but a shining new star in the Qin army.
"Squad leader, you've secured the victory of being the first to scale the walls!" Erniu roared excitedly, his face beaming.
The wicked man smiled slightly, and an even bigger idea suddenly appeared in his mind. If he could also win the merit of beheading the general, he would probably become famous overnight and take off!
The more he thought about it, the more feasible it seemed. Without hesitation, the wicked man stripped the armor off the headless rebel general's corpse amidst the puzzled gazes of the surrounding Qin soldiers.
"Hmm, it's quite heavy!" The wicked man casually weighed it in his hand, and the heavy feel made him extremely satisfied. Although the armor was covered in blood and the material was not clear, it was definitely not leather armor.
"Brothers, we have achieved the victory of being the first to scale the walls, but the rebels are not yet all dead."
The wicked man's gaze sharpened as he surveyed the surrounding Qin army. He slowly raised his Qin sword and roared, "Do you dare follow me into the city to kill the enemy and clear the way for my comrades?"
"We are willing to fight to the death with our platoon leader!" Erniu and the others were the first to respond. After the bloody battle just now, they had completely adapted to the carnage, and each of them had earned military merits for killing two or three enemies.
"We are willing to fight to the death with the platoon leader!" The Qin soldiers around him, who had already been impressed by him, immediately roared in response. Besides, they were not fools. With the wicked man leading the way, it was a great opportunity to gain military merit.
Especially those Qin soldiers who came up later, their eyes were red with envy. Now, any Qin soldier who could still stand had killed at least one or two enemies, which were all living military achievements.
"Good!" The wicked man strode toward the gap in the city and shouted, "Brothers, let me clear the way!"
He had only taken a few steps when, as if remembering something, he slashed the military flag beside him with his sword.
He caught the flagpole, which was as thick as a baby's arm, with a smooth and clean cut. After weighing it in his hand for a few moments, the wicked man brought down his sword again, cutting the flagpole into a two-meter-long piece.
"Let me show you the power of a blunt weapon!"
He had just realized that the Qin sword was not suitable for him; it was too short and too light, wasting all his strength and making it extremely slow to kill enemies, far inferior to a long weapon.
"Keep your distance!"
The wicked man arrived at the breach and, without saying a word, swung his big club at the rebel soldiers who were trying to rush up.
With a loud 'bang,' the three rebels at the front were smashed, coughing up blood and flying through the air, their bodies landing on the crowd of rebels, knocking down a whole bunch of them.
"That's awesome! This is what real men should do!" The wicked man laughed heartily, secretly resolving that once the war was over, he would get his hands on a long weapon no matter what.
"Charge! Kill him!"
The rebels inside the city were unaware of the wicked man's terror. When they saw him daring to clear a path alone, they immediately raised their swords, howled, and charged upwards.
"Good timing!"
A cold glint flashed in the villain's eyes. He brandished the flagpole as if it were a giant iron bar, each swing accompanied by the screams of the rebels and the sound of bones breaking.
The rebels' offensive was shattered by the wicked man's iron club, unable to mount an effective resistance. The wicked man managed to slowly advance into the city all by himself.
The moment he stepped off the steps and into the city, the wicked man was like a tiger returning to the mountains. Without the steps or his own people to restrain him, he could wave the flagpole to his heart's content.
"Bang bang bang..."
In his hands, the flagpole was like the most terrifying killing weapon in the world; touching it would result in either death or serious injury.
Erniu and other Qin soldiers followed closely behind. Using the path cleared by Efu, they quickly rushed into the city and engaged in fierce hand-to-hand combat with the rebels.
An endless horde of rebels surged forward, attempting to swiftly annihilate this arrogant and overconfident Qin army.
The fighting intensified on the streets of the city.
Although the villain was incredibly brave and single-handedly bore the brunt of the pressure, the Qin army's casualties were still terrifying. If it weren't for the continuous stream of Qin soldiers climbing the city walls and coming down to support them, the entire army would probably have been wiped out long ago.
Erniu and the others formed a battle formation and followed behind Efu. Even though they were covered in wounds, they still methodically killed enemy soldiers. Looking at the Qin soldiers falling one after another around them, they were filled with relief.
Thanks to the wicked husband's strict training!
The rebels were far too numerous, and the Qin army, arriving with only ladders for support, was woefully inadequate. After such a fierce battle, even the wicked man's physique was beginning to give out, and he gradually began to pant.
"Brothers, you hold them off! I'll go open the city gates and let the army in!"
Without saying a word, the wicked man turned around and signaled Erniu and the others, who were covered in blood, to follow him, and launched a charge towards the Qin army behind them.
"Bang bang bang..."
"Smack!"
Just as the rebels were being flung around by the flagpole he was holding, the flagpole finally gave way and snapped.
