Chapter 189, /.

It was a tall, slender evil spirit, its body emanating black mist, its entire form shrouded in a cloak, leaving only a pair of eyes that shimmered with red light.

"I'm out! I've finally escaped!"

The evil voice was hoarse and excited, like that of an old monster.

Xiaoyao frowned, his eyes warily fixed on the evil spirit.

This guy was once a powerful evil spirit who wreaked havoc on the human world, causing widespread panic. It was Master Xiaoyao who intervened and sealed him inside the altar.

I had hoped that by chanting scriptures and worshipping Buddha every day, I could nourish the altar with Buddha-nature and thus refine this evil spirit.

But this guy is incredibly powerful. After a hundred years, he not only shows no signs of being refined, but has become even stronger. Now he has even broken through the seal.

"You old bald monk! You've imprisoned me for a hundred years, I'll make sure you suffer a terrible death!"

Immediately, the evil spirit looked at Xiaoyao, its voice icy cold.

After he finished speaking, a surge of yin energy erupted around him, and two terrifying claws shot out, aiming straight for Xiaoyao's forehead.

Xiaoyao's gaze darkened, and he took out a Buddhist bead and threw it into the sky. The bead spun around, and Buddhist light surged, forming a Buddhist wall in front of him.

The evil spirit swept in front of Xiaoyao, its sharp claws swooping down, but it was blocked by the Buddhist light and could not get close to Xiaoyao for a moment.

"Damn it! Damn it!"

It roared fiercely, the yin energy around it grew stronger, its claws began to lengthen and thicken, and its power was rapidly increasing.

Clearly, they intended to break through the Buddhist barrier using their powerful Yin energy.

Upon seeing this, Xiaoyao's gaze darkened, and he clasped his hands together and began chanting Buddhist scriptures.

As the Buddhist scriptures were chanted, a light of Buddha appeared around him, its faint glow drifting towards the Buddha wall like dandelions.

As the Buddha's light poured in, the Buddha wall became even more powerful.

A beam of Buddhist light suddenly appeared, causing the evil spirit to retreat violently.

Seeing the opportunity, Xiaoyao made a hand seal and threw out two talismans.

Two talismans imbued with Daoist wisdom flew towards the evil spirit, carrying immense Daoist power, like two giant mountains pressing down on it.

Sensing the power of the talismans, the evil spirit panicked and quickly dodged the two talismans.

Sensing Xiaoyao's power, the evil spirit decided to stop fighting and suddenly rushed towards the door, shouting, "Old bald monk, I will definitely kill you someday!"

He shouted as he fled at top speed.

Xiaoyao's gaze darkened. "You think you can escape so easily?"

This guy is not only harmful, but his power is now significantly stronger than before. If he is released, he will surely endanger all living beings.

He was about to give chase when he suddenly froze.

Just as the evil spirit fled to the doorway, and approached the armored figure at the entrance, the runes on the armor suddenly shone with golden light.

The golden light contained supreme Dao essence, instantly controlling the evil spirit.

Its body froze in mid-air, unable to move.

The evil spirit looked at the armor in alarm, "What's going on?!"

Sensing the powerful aura emanating from the talisman, Xiaoyao was also filled with shock, "Such strong power!"

"I've been imprisoned for a hundred years, don't even think about keeping me trapped any longer!"

"Don't even think about it!"

The evil spirit roared suddenly, and the surrounding yin energy surged wildly, with black mist spreading as if the end of the world had arrived.

Its body began to grow thicker and taller, its claws visibly lengthened, and even its crimson eyes shone with an increasingly intense red light, like two balls of flame.

A terrifying aura stirred up gusts of wind, causing the carefree monk's robes to flutter.

It was astonishing that they were using all their strength to try and resist the runes on the armor.

With the impact of powerful Yin energy, the golden light on the armor actually intensified several times.

Like an unshakeable net, it firmly controls the evil spirit.

Under the control of that golden light, the evil spirit's body began to burn and slowly turned to ashes.

Its crimson eyes were filled with terror. "This is impossible! This is impossible!"

It has been refined by Buddhist essence for a hundred years and is still unharmed. How could it be destroyed by a talisman?

Amidst its unwilling roars, the evil spirits were gradually melted away and then vanished from the world forever.

Seeing this, Xiaoyao's eyes widened. "An evil spirit that couldn't be refined even after a hundred years is gone just like that?"

He strode forward and began to carefully examine the runes on the armor, unable to help but admire them repeatedly.

"Amazing! Absolutely amazing! It's only a few strokes that were changed, yet it can unleash such tremendous power!"

He was extremely excited.

Even after decades of research, the power of his spells remained limited.

But today, with just a small modification, its power has been greatly enhanced.

This was a rare opportunity, and he was naturally thrilled.

The little guy pouted, "You were being so mean just now, telling me not to draw anymore!"

Xiaoyao snapped out of her daze and quickly went to the little guy's side. "I'm not mean, I'm not mean. You can draw wherever you want, however you want!"

He could see that this little guy's strength far surpassed his own.

It was even more powerful than he could have imagined.

The little guy's eyes were indifferent. "No, I won't scribble anymore. That's what we agreed on."

Xiaoyao's expression changed slightly; he wanted to slap himself twice.

What's wrong with a little kid drawing and playing?

Why be so serious and tell someone to stop drawing?

Despite his regret, Xiaoyao still wanted to salvage the situation; he didn't want to watch such a good opportunity slip away.

Xiaoyao quickly said, "I was blind, I hope you will not mind and forgive me this time."

"If there are any shortcomings in the talismans in the future, I would be very grateful if you could give me some pointers."

His gaze was intense as he looked at the little guy, as if he were looking at a rare treasure.
