Looking at the golden lock in his hand, Ying Zheng was slightly shocked. "Is this golden lock that powerful?"
As Xiaoyao touched the golden lock, he could clearly feel the laws of heaven and earth attached to it. "This is an extremely powerful magic artifact. If it weren't for a stroke of luck, it would be impossible to obtain it."
The more Xiaoyao felt about it, the more powerful the golden lock seemed. He couldn't help but look at Ying Zheng and ask, "Where did Your Majesty obtain it?"
Ying Zheng did not hide anything and truthfully said, "I ordered the craftsmen to make it."
I initially thought the lock had a good meaning, so I had it made.
By chance, it was given to Ying Ziyu.
I didn't expect this lock to be so powerful.
But Ying Zheng also knew that the real threat might not be the lock, but Ying Ziyu.
When Ying Ziyu made him wear this lock, he must have foreseen what was about to happen.
This answer left Xiaoyao somewhat bewildered; he even wondered if Ying Zheng was joking.
But glancing at Ying Zheng and seeing his serious expression, Xiaoyao frowned. "Are the craftsmen these days really that skilled?"
Could it be named Pangu?
Ying Zheng knew he couldn't explain it clearly, so he said, "Perhaps it's not the craftsman's fault. You should go and see Yu'er another day when you have the chance. She is my nineteenth son."
Xiaoyao's expression was quite strange. "If Your Majesty doesn't want to say, then don't say. Why try to fob me off?"
Such a powerful magical artifact, to be associated with an infant, is utter nonsense.
He had cultivated for so long, and he had never seen any baby so powerful.
······
As soon as Xiangqin reached the palace gate, she saw a boy standing there. "Oh? Isn't that the Eighteenth Prince?"
Consort Shu looked closely and saw that the child was about ten years old, dressed in an elegant light blue robe. "It is indeed Xiao Hai!"
As she drew closer, Consort Shu called out, "Xiao Hai!"
Hu Hai turned around and saw Consort Shu, his expression immediately brightening with joy. "Your Highness Consort Shu!"
Consort Shu looked at him tenderly, "Why don't you go inside?"
Hu Hai lowered his eyes slightly, "They said you weren't here..."
Consort Shu glanced at the two gatekeepers and said sternly, "The Eighteenth Prince is my guest. You are not allowed to stop him in the future!"
Having spent many years in the palace, she could immediately tell that these two eunuchs were deliberately making things difficult for her.
Hu Hai's mother died early, so he was originally from outside the palace and had no maternal family in the palace.
Hu Hai was not favored by Ying Zheng. Although he had the title of prince, he had no power whatsoever and was naturally disliked.
The two eunuchs lowered their heads and said, "Yes!"
"promise!"
Consort Shu took Hu Hai's hand and said, "Let's go!"
Originally, she didn't have much interaction with Hu Hai. It was just that one winter she saw the little guy wearing thin clothes, and because the warehouse had deducted his monthly allowance from coal, he was huddled in his room shivering. She felt really sorry for him.
The palace is such a place; without power, one can only be bullied.
Without a legitimate reason, Consort Shu couldn't interfere, so she could only have Xiangqin send some winter clothes and charcoal over.
I thought our relationship had come to an end.
But unexpectedly, the little guy rushed into the palace one day and told her that Consort Li had planted a doll with pins to frame her, thus saving her from disaster.
Seeing that he was so anxious that he didn't even have time to put on his shoes, and that his feet were red from the cold and covered with wounds, Consort Shu thought he was a good child. Later, she often took care of him, and they gradually became familiar with each other.
Upon entering the hall, Consort Shu invited Hu Hai to sit down before instructing Xiang Qin, "Go and get some pear blossom cakes."
Hu Hai swallowed hard, "Thank you, Consort Shu!"
That was his favorite food.
When my mother was alive, we could eat this often, but after she passed away, we rarely ate it anymore. The servants always made excuses that there wasn't enough food.
Although Hu Hai was young, he knew the reason to some extent, and after asking a few times, he stopped asking.
Later, we finally got to eat at Consort Shu's place.
Consort Shu sat down next to Hu Hai and asked, "Are you settling in well at school?"
"I'm used to it, but I probably won't go anymore."
Consort Shu's eyes flickered slightly. "Why?"
Hu Hai swung his bound feet and said, “Lord Zhao Gao is going to take me as his apprentice. He said he will teach me from now on and asked if I was willing.”
Seeing his conflicted expression, Consort Shu asked, "You're unwilling?"
Hu Hai blinked his dark eyes. "My mother told me to study hard so that I could please my father. Of course, I want to study hard."
"But by following Lord Zhao, I can not only study hard, but also eat the things I like."
Or rather, they are no longer being bullied.
Consort Shu patted his shoulder, "What are you saying? From now on, just come to my palace whenever you want to eat something!"
Hu Hai smiled at Consort Shu and said, "Thank you, Your Highness!"
"Oh, wait a minute!" Consort Shu slapped her forehead, then got up and went into the room.
A moment later, she returned carrying a stack of clothes. "These are clothes I made for you. See if they fit."
She held up the clothes and compared them to Hu Hai's.
Those servants treated people differently based on their status; even the clothes they brought to Hu Hai were made of very poor quality.
So when Consort Shu was making some for Ying Ziyu, she also made a few for Hu Hai.
After trying it on and finding it fit perfectly, Consort Shu was relieved. "I'll have Xiangqin wrap it up for you later. Remember to take it back with you!"
Hu Hai nodded, "Thank you, Consort Shu!"
Seeing that Consort Shu had started folding clothes, he added, "I heard that Your Highness has given birth to a younger brother?"
Consort Shu nodded. "Yes, you haven't met Yu'er yet, have you?"
Hu Hai clutched the hem of his robe. "Can I see my younger brother?"
"Of course you can, but I don't know if Yu'er is awake yet. You can go and check on her."
Hu Hai walked to the crib, and a delicately carved porcelain doll appeared before his eyes.
