"A troublemaker?"
The middle-aged man leaned against the beautiful maid's knees, eating the grapes she offered him, listening to the Loulan envoy's report, his eyebrows slightly raised.
He was dressed in a golden robe, exuding an air of nobility; he was none other than the King of Loulan.
The Loulan envoy frowned. "I sent people to investigate carefully, but no matter how much we inquired, we couldn't get a single clue about this 'Demon King'."
She also found this result very strange. The name "Demon King" was so famous that it should have been a household name in the Qin Dynasty.
But no matter how much they inquired, they couldn't find any information, which was really strange.
It even made her start to suspect that the other party was someone who did a very good job of keeping secrets, which was why they hadn't revealed a single word.
The King of Loulan waved his hand, "Never mind, it's no use sending anyone from over there."
He then looked at the Loulan envoy, a greedy smile on his face, "Compared to this, I've missed you terribly since you were gone so long!"
The Loulan envoy understood immediately, nestled into the Loulan king's arms, and said with a look of longing in his eyes, "I also miss the king very much."
Their gazes were intense, like dry wood meeting a raging fire, and just as things were about to erupt, a beautiful maid entered and said, "Your Majesty, the Supreme Emperor has brought medicine."
She kept her head down, holding a bowl of herbal medicine in her hands.
Upon hearing this, the King of Loulan frowned and said impatiently, "Put it aside!"
No sooner had the words left his mouth than an aged voice, tinged with anger, rang out, "So this is how you treat the medicine I brought you!"
Upon hearing that voice, the King of Loulan panicked and quickly stood up, bowing and saying, "Greetings, Father of the Nation!"
Although the retired king had passed the throne to him and retired to enjoy his life behind the scenes, no longer concerning himself with state affairs, in terms of real power and prestige, the Loulan king was still no match for his father.
The Supreme Ruler stared at him coldly, "You've been on the throne for five years without a child. Is it wrong for me to give you some medicine to help you?"
The King of Loulan bowed and said, "I dare not, my father is right."
The Supreme Ruler sighed softly, "A country cannot be without a ruler for a single day. As the ruler, you should determine the successor. Only in this way can the country be stable. Do I really need to tell you this simple truth?"
The King of Loulan lowered his head and said, "Your subject understands, Father is right!"
After he finished speaking, he picked up the medicine and drank it all in one gulp. Seeing this, the Supreme King's expression softened a bit.
Just then, a soldier walked in, cupped his hands, and said, "Your Majesty, the Demon King has arrived."
The King of Loulan's eyes flickered slightly. "So fast?"
The Supreme Ruler looked quite puzzled. "The Mischievous Demon King?"
The King of Loulan explained, "He is an envoy from the Qin Dynasty. His purpose this time is probably to get us to pay tribute."
The Supreme Ruler's gaze sharpened. "Tribute? We've already established a connection with the Xiongnu, and they still dream of making us pay tribute?"
The King of Loulan nodded, "Your subject also finds it amusing."
The Supreme Ruler's gaze darkened. "Let him in. Since they still fantasize that we will pay tribute, we must make them face reality!"
"Do they really think Loulan is still that insignificant little country they used to be, at their beck and call!"
"yes!"
The soldier withdrew, and soon the little guy led Xiaoyao into the hall.
The King of Loulan's gaze fell on the two of them. After carefully examining them, he walked up to Xiaoyao and asked, "So you call yourself the Mischievous Demon King?"
"Yes! It's me!" the little guy exclaimed anxiously, stamping his feet.
He finally came up with such a domineering name.
The King of Loulan glanced down at Little Potato, then looked at Xiaoyao, "Despicable! Using a child to cover for you!"
Xiaoyao: ?
The little guy was too lazy to explain, so he stepped forward and stretched out his little hand to the King of Loulan, saying, "Just pay the tribute you owe honestly, so everyone can have a better life."
The King of Loulan's eyes flashed strangely. "Are you really a devil incarnate?"
He initially thought that the Mischievous Demon King couldn't possibly be a little baby, but seeing that Xiaoyao didn't say a word and clearly seemed to be letting the little guy take charge, he wavered a bit and couldn't help but ask.
The little guy's eyes were indifferent. "Offer three times the tribute, and everyone will be better off. Otherwise, you'll regret it."
Seeing the little potato's earnest application, the King of Loulan found it somewhat amusing. "Regret? Me?"
"Hahaha, little brat, are you still half asleep? Even the Qin Dynasty can't do anything to me, are you going to make me regret this?"
The Supreme Ruler, standing to the side, also squinted his eyes, "This little kid is indeed quite interesting. Becoming a storyteller should be a good career path for him."
The little guy's eyes darkened slightly. "I wanted to discuss this with you properly, so don't force me."
The King of Loulan suppressed a laugh. "Force you? I'm forcing you, what can you do about it?"
The little guy sighed softly, and then said, "I know, that's why you haven't had children all these years."
Upon hearing this, the King of Loulan's expression changed slightly, but he quickly concealed the strange look in his eyes.
The Supreme Ruler's expression shifted slightly. "This kid really does have a health problem, right?"
The Supreme King was extremely anxious because he hadn't had a child for so many years. He sought medical help everywhere, but no matter what he did, his condition didn't improve, which gave him a real headache.
The King of Loulan remained calm, took a deep breath, and looked at the little guy. "Tell me why?"
He wasn't sure if the kid was bluffing him.
After all, he had always been very cautious about that reason and kept it a secret very well, without letting a word of it leak out.
Not to mention the little potato far away in Qin, even the supreme ruler who was always by his side and whose power was all-encompassing did not know the real reason.
The little guy looked at him and asked, "Are you sure you can say this in public?"
Upon hearing this, the King of Loulan's expression turned slightly strange.
