In the early morning, Consort Shu opened her eyes groggily, and a large face appeared before her.
"A ghost!"
She was startled and sat bolt upright.
The little one sat on the bed, looking around with a puzzled expression. "Ghosts? Where?"
Consort Shu breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that it was a little one.
She looked at the little one with a puzzled expression, "Yu'er, what are you doing here?"
The little guy has his own bed and is particularly fond of sleeping; usually, Consort Shu wakes him up when he wakes up.
The fact that Consort Shu appeared in bed before she had even woken up naturally startled her.
The little one looked at Consort Shu, blinking his big eyes, and said, "Mother, it's time."
Consort Shu looked puzzled. "Time? What time?"
The little one was quite pleased, "I could smell the aroma at breakfast time!"
As he spoke, the little guy took a deep breath of the fragrance in the air.
[Meat buns!]
Scallion pancakes!
Roasted chicken legs!
I want them all!
Consort Shu was still a little dazed. "But I'm not hungry yet."
The little one linked his arm with hers, "It's okay, you can watch me eat!"
Consort Shu: 。 。 。 。 。
Although somewhat reluctant, seeing the little guy's expectant eyes, Consort Shu still took him out.
On the street, the little guy's eyes lit up as he looked at the food stalls piled high with food.
He quickly ran to a stall, pointed at the steaming hot meat buns, and exclaimed, "Mommy, I want to eat this!"
Consort Shu stepped forward and bought him one.
Looking at the palm-sized bun in her hand, and then at the little one, Consort Shu frowned slightly.
These buns are so big, and the child is so small, he'd be stuffed if he ate just two.
That won't do. The little one doesn't know how much she eats, and she might accidentally eat too much and get a stomachache. She has to keep an eye on her.
Seeing the steaming hot buns, the little guy's eyes lit up. "Mommy, give them to me quickly! I'm so hungry!"
He touched his stomach, trying to get it to cooperate by making two "gurgling" sounds.
But his round belly didn't cooperate with his performance at all.
Consort Shu snapped out of her reverie and looked at the little one, "Alright!"
As she spoke, she broke the steamed bun in half.
The little guy paused for a moment, but then thought that his mother also needed to eat, so it was normal for her to eat half.
And being able to eat half of it is already pretty good!
In the little guy's note, Consort Shu broke off a piece of skin, picked up a piece of meat, and handed it to the little guy.
It's not even as big as a thumb.
The little guy was taken aback. "Huh?"
Consort Shu explained, "Didn't you want to try everything? If you do that, you can only eat a little of each, otherwise you'll get indigestion."
The little guy hesitated for a moment, "But..."
That's far too little!
It's only enough to fill a tooth gap.
Seeing that the little one was making a move, Consort Shu quickly stuffed the remaining buns into her mouth and began to chew.
The steamed bun was quite large, making her mouth bulge.
"Look, it's frozen," she mumbled, her voice indistinct.
Little guy: ...
Seeing this, the little guy had no choice but to take the little bit of meat and stuff it into his mouth.
After chewing it a couple of times, it's alright; I can taste the flavor now.
It smells pretty good.
After finishing their meal, the little guy dragged Shufei to the scallion pancake stall.
Then I got a few scraps of scallion pancake.
Then they went to the roasted chicken leg stall, and Consort Shu only let the little guy smell it.
Seeing the little guy's pleading eyes, she, as his mother, couldn't bear it and let him lick it again.
Then, right in front of the little guy, I ate the roasted chicken leg.
The little one's mouth watered as he looked at it. "Mommy, I want a bite too!"
Consort Shu looked at him and said, "No, you've already eaten the minced meat. If you eat chicken legs, there will be too much meat in them, and you won't be able to digest them."
Mother will suffer this pain for you!
I must say, the roasted chicken legs are actually quite delicious!
The little guy watched longingly as Consort Shu finished eating, then dragged her to the pastry shop.
I got some pear blossom cake crumbs.
The little guy is slowly adapting and is even a bit satisfied.
Although it was a small amount, at least we could taste the flavor.
It's better than having nothing to eat!
After finishing the crumbs, he was about to pull Consort Shu to the next stall, but Consort Shu froze, "Wait!"
The little one looked up at Consort Shu with a puzzled expression, "What's wrong, Mother?"
Consort Shu clutched her stomach. "Let me rest for a while. My stomach hurts a little."
The little guy was quite worried, "Are you alright?"
Consort Shu frowned. "You ate too much."
She was so focused on making sure the little one didn't get indigestion that she accidentally got indigestion herself.
The little guy was quite exasperated, saying, "How dare you say that?"
Seeing that Consort Shu looked unwell, he lost his appetite and took her hand, saying, "Alright, let's go back and rest first."
Consort Shu nodded, "Alright, I'll make you some steamed egg custard when I'm done!"
The little guy pulled Shufei along as they walked towards the inn.
Before he had taken two steps, the little guy stopped and looked ahead with a slightly wary gaze.
[Killing intent?]
Hearing the little one's thoughts, Consort Shu also stopped and looked ahead warily.
Among the crowd, a man carrying a giant sword was watching them intently.
The man was muscular, wearing a plain vest, his muscles looked like they were about to burst, his skin was dark, and he had a deep scar on his face.
With just one glance, Consort Shu sensed that the visitor was up to no good.
She pulled the little one closer and quickly walked in the opposite direction.
Passing through the crowd and into the alley beside her, Consort Shu looked behind her as she walked.
After failing to spot the person, she quickened her pace and headed towards her residence.
As she walked, she reminded the little one, "Yu'er, be good and come back with your mother."
