Ying Liu frowned. "That's true, but I'm alone..."
He was somewhat embarrassed.
Just from what the little guy said, he knew that the underworld he was about to enter was a very dangerous world.
He was still of the Yin nature, and going in would inevitably attract the attention of countless evil spirits. Under such circumstances, how could a mortal like him cope?
Seeing Ying Liu's worry, the little guy explained, "Although the gate to the underworld is open now, it's not using the correct method. It can only be open for a short time. Xiaoyao and I need to stay here to extend the time, otherwise we won't be able to hold out until you come back."
As he spoke, his gaze darkened, and he looked to the side, "Moreover, your contact with the underworld will make the yin energy stronger, and you'll have to deal with the things you attract!"
A cloud of black mist swept in, accompanied by mournful howls, and its powerful aura stirred up gusts of wind.
Xiaoyao's eyes darkened, he stepped forward, grabbed the Buddhist beads and threw them into the air. As the Buddhist scriptures were chanted, the beads flashed with golden light, instantly shattering the black energy into dust.
Ying Liu also turned his head to look, and immediately his brows furrowed.
Countless black wisps of smoke arrived as if drawn by the wind, descending like a storm that instantly obscured the sky, turning it pitch black.
The little guy looked at Ying Liu and said, "Sixth Brother, there's no need to be too afraid. That Yin energy has been awakened for several years. Since it's in your body, it's part of your body, just like everything else you have. It's also making your body stronger and tempering it."
"You may not realize it, but your body has long been integrated with the Yin energy, and your Yin body has become incredibly powerful. As long as you can find the connection with the Yin energy, you can awaken that long-dormant power."
That power is poison to those on the righteous path, but a treasure to those preparing to step into the unorthodox path.
This is why so many evil spirits have targeted Ying Liu.
Ying Liu's gaze hardened.
He is no longer afraid of death, but he is terrified of his loved ones being harmed.
Ying Liu strode towards the entrance, then suddenly stopped, turning his back to the little guy. "If you realize I'm not coming back, please leave immediately. Even if you want to help me, it's only on the premise of ensuring your safety."
After saying this, he stepped into the underworld, and his figure gradually disappeared into the black hole.
The little one watched his retreating figure and murmured, "Aunt Liang and I will wait for you, so you must come back!"
While dispelling the evil spirits, Xiaoyao looked at the little guy with a rather solemn expression, "Forcibly extending the opening time of the Underworld means that we are going to fight against the power of the entire Underworld, right?"
To achieve that level, the amount of effort required is simply unimaginable.
The little guy threw out three talismans. "These are the strongest talismans I can draw right now. Use them when you can't hold on any longer."
After speaking, the little guy's eyes darkened, golden light surged around him, and supreme Daoist charm emerged, continuously flowing into the entrance to the Netherworld, gradually expanding the slowly shrinking entrance.
The little guy's eyes shone brightly, "So what if we fight against the power of the underworld?"
Xiaoyao put away the talisman and then looked at the evil spirits filling the sky. "Since that's the case, then you can rest assured that you can leave your back to this old man!"
He increased the speed of his chanting of Buddhist scriptures, and Buddhist energy surged around him, pressing down on the evil spirits that filled the sky.
Ying Liu was taken aback when he stepped into the underworld.
Contrary to expectations, there was no overwhelming gloom or evil spirits flying everywhere; instead, it was a peaceful garden.
The sunlight was warm, the breeze was gentle, and the brightly colored flower buds swayed in the breeze, releasing a faint fragrance.
Just as he was wondering, a voice came, "Little Six."
Upon hearing that incredibly familiar voice, Ying Liu's eyes welled up with tears. He looked toward the source of the voice and froze instantly.
The beautiful figure standing before me was none other than Consort Liang.
Ying Liu choked up a little, "Mother?"
Consort Liang stepped forward with a smile and took his hand. "What are you standing there for? Dinner is served."
Feeling the soft touch in his palm, Ying Liu was somewhat dazed.
That was so familiar, so dear, it was definitely his mother.
Consort Liang pulled Ying Liu into a room, and another voice came from behind, "Why are you so late? The food is getting cold. I still have memorials to deal with after my meal!"
Ying Liu was taken aback, "Father?"
Consort Liang gave an awkward smile, "Coming, coming! Sorry to keep Your Majesty waiting!"
She sat down next to Ying Zheng and saw that Ying Liu was still in a daze, so she urged, "What are you still standing there for? Today we have your favorite blue and white porcelain cake."
Ying Liu snapped out of his daze and sat down next to the two of them. Consort Liang placed a piece of blue-and-white porcelain cake on his plate and said, "Try it. It was made by your mother."
He looked at the two of them and saw that Ying Zheng was eating, while Consort Liang was looking at him with tender eyes.
He lowered his head, picked up the pastry, and took a bite. The delicate aroma filled his mouth, so familiar.
Consort Liang placed another piece of meat on his plate, saying, "And here's your favorite roasted meat."
Ying Zheng also picked up a chicken leg for him, saying, "You've gotten so thin! Eat more!"
Looking at the bowl full of meat, Ying Liu's eyes reddened, and she couldn't help but start crying.
Large tears kept sliding down his cheeks.
This simple life of eating together as a family is a distant dream for him.
He had fantasized about such a scene countless times and wanted to experience it countless times, but he had never been able to. He could only stay in the dimly lit room and pray that such a day would come.
But today, he finally experienced it.
Just as he had imagined, it was so warm and inviting. Though simple, it was irresistible.
Seeing Ying Liu's reaction, Consort Liang asked in confusion, "Is it not tasty? Why are you crying?"
Ying Liu wiped away her tears, "It's delicious! That's why I'm crying, it's so delicious."
