Chapter 89 Ransom

Zhang Shixun put a large piece of beef into his mouth, stuffing his cheeks bulging, and asked him, "How much do you want?"

The man stretched out his palm and shook it, "Five hundred taels of silver."

"It's better to kill him. He's not worth that much money."

"At least three hundred taels, no less." The man seemed to have expected him to bargain and was well prepared.

Zhang Shixun finished his meal in a few bites, took out a handkerchief from his sleeve and wiped his mouth. Then he raised his head and asked, "What's your name?"

The man was stunned and blurted out, "The younger one is called Slow Monkey."

"Slow Monkey, that's an interesting name. Are you lazy?"

"I'm a little lazy." The lazy monkey looked at Zhang Shixun and thought that this man was so weird. His cousin was kidnapped, but he was not anxious at all.

"Sloth monkey, are you hungry?" Zhang Shixun suddenly asked.

"Yes... a little hungry." The lazy monkey glanced at the beef on the stone table and swallowed his saliva.

Zhang Shixun grabbed his neck with one hand, picked up two slices of beef with his other hand, and roughly stuffed them into the slow monkey's mouth: "Eat it."

The slow monkey was caught by the neck and had no choice but to eat the beef.

He was indeed greedy. In those days, the government prohibited the killing of cattle, so beef was not something that could be eaten casually.

"Is it tasty?"

“It’s… delicious.”

"Then eat more." Zhang Shixun stuffed a few more slices of beef into his mouth.

The slow loris opens its mouth, chews, and swallows.

Zhang Shixun blocked it again.

Swallow again.

The two of them ended this gluttonous "feast" in a strange posture.

Zhang Shixun was not only teasing the lazy monkey, but mainly because the weather was hot and the beef would definitely go bad if left for too long. Instead of letting it spoil, it would be better to let this guy get a bargain. He also had something to ask him.

Zhang Shixun let go of his hand and asked casually, "Let me ask a question."

The lazy monkey wiped his greasy mouth and said, "Sir, please ask."

"What would happen if I turned you over to the authorities, or even killed you?"

The slow monkey shuddered with fear, "My...my king will also kill your cousin."

"Well, not bad! Very good!" Zhang Shixun seemed very happy.

The slow loris blinked at him, not understanding why he was so happy.

Zhang Shixun pointed to the yard and said, "This property belongs to both of us. If my cousin dies, it will belong to me alone."

The slow monkey turned around and ran, but before it had taken a few steps, it bumped into a person.

That person was Hei Wuchang.

Hei Wuchang grabbed the slow monkey's collar, carried him to Zhang Shixun, and threw him away.

The lazy monkey knelt on the ground and kowtowed profusely: "Master...Master, please spare my life. I...I am just an errand boy."

Zhang Shixun looked down at him and asked curiously, "I haven't even finished talking yet, why are you running?"

"I'm afraid the senior official will kill...kill me."

"Did I say I was going to kill you?" Zhang Shixun looked surprised.

"You just said what my king would do if I were handed over to the authorities or killed."

Zhang Shixun spread his hands and said, "I'm just asking, I don't really intend to do this."

After hearing this, the lazy monkey finally breathed a sigh of relief, wiped the sweat from his face, and said embarrassedly, "I am guilty of my crime."

"That's a good point. You just have a guilty conscience." Zhang Shixun pulled him up and pretended to brush the dust off his body.

The lazy monkey was flattered and murmured, "Thank you very much, sir."

"You're welcome." Zhang Shixun touched his chin and asked tentatively, "I'd like to ask you for a favor, is that okay?"

"Speak, sir."

"Go back and tell your king that my cousin is not your biological brother, so I will not pay a ransom for him. Not to mention three or five hundred taels of silver, I won't even pay a penny."

"Well... okay." The lazy monkey agreed, thinking that this senior official had a very cruel heart. It seemed that he was determined to kill his cousin and take over the property for himself.

"Also, tell your king to chop my cousin into pieces and feed them to the dogs... Also, don't throw him into the Bian River. If you do, I'll have to pay for his coffin."

As soon as he finished speaking, he heard Wang Dong cursing in the system: "Zhang Shixun, you are a bastard!"

Zhang Shixun grinned and ignored him, patting the lazy monkey's shoulder. "Just do as I say and reply to your king."

The slow monkey's face turned pale with fright.

This man was so cruel that he almost turned his cousin into ashes.

He agreed casually, turned around and walked out. Just after taking a few steps, he heard someone behind him say, "Come back!"

The slow monkey shuddered and turned around tremblingly.

"I forgot to ask, your king calls himself the king, does he have many people under him?"

"Not too... too many, maybe about a hundred people."

Zhang Shixun waved his hand: "Okay, you can go."

The lazy monkey felt relieved and hurried out. When he passed by Hei Wuchang, he lowered his head and did not dare to look at him.

This guy is not easy to deal with. He catches people like catching chickens. He is very strong.

After the lazy monkey left, Zhang Shixun said, "Wang Dong, the ransom demander has left. Be careful over there. If their leader gets wind of the ransom being refused, he might attack you."

"It's okay, Bai Wuchang and I have already escaped."

"Escaped?"

"Yeah, take out a few kidnappers in the process."

"Wow! You just said you wanted to tease them, and then you ran out in the blink of an eye. Are you sure you're not joking?"

Wang Dong gasped and said, "That's what I originally planned. But this place is so damn smelly. It's not a place for people to stay. If I stay here for too long, the kidnappers won't have to kill me. The stench alone will kill me."
