Morgele River
Because the scope of this trip was so large and there were many areas along the way with poor signal and inconvenient transportation, the two finally decided to hire a guide.
When you land at the airport, a guide will pick you up in a nanny car and take you to the hotel for check-in.
The guide was an extroverted and talkative young man from the north, his surname was Yang, and he was about twenty years old. In the car, he spoke with an authentic northeastern accent and made the usually quiet Wen Yan laugh non-stop.
Wen Zhili felt that she might be a little boring. She was completely unable to follow the jokes thrown by the guide.
But she was not annoyed at all. She just listened quietly to the guide chattering to Wen Yan who was able to continue his conversation. From time to time, she would be amused and let out a few genuine chuckles.
"Have breakfast on the first floor of the hotel at 8 o'clock tomorrow morning, and return to this car before 8:30. We'll set off on time."
The guide gave them these final instructions after they checked in.
Although this was a bit embarrassing for Wen Yan who was already on vacation, after all, it was impossible for her to wake up naturally before 9 o'clock after the vacation.
But fortunately, she was shy and didn't want to be late and keep the guide waiting, and besides - she still had a sister.
When she opened her eyes in the morning, Wen Zhili had already packed everything and was just waiting for her to get up.
The hotel’s breakfast buffet includes the local specialty milk tea. Wen Yan took a sip and found it salty. To be honest, she couldn’t get used to it.
After a brief and painful sobriety from the saltiness, she returned to her dizzy state of chewing breakfast.
She was still leaning against the window in a daze until the car started, listening to her sister sitting in the back seat confirming today's itinerary with the guide.
This sleepy state continued until the vehicle left the city and drove into the grassland.
When Wen Yan saw the grassland, his eyes widened instantly and his mind became clear.
A few minutes later they passed by a flock of sheep. "Wow..." Wen Yan sighed softly and leaned against the car window to look.
It's a bit like when she was very young and just a little dumpling.
Wen Zhili curled the corners of his lips.
"Please stop here."
When introducing today's route, the guide said that there were no specific tourist attractions on the grassland. If they found any beautiful places, they could tell them and the car would stop for them to take pictures.
"OK."
The car stopped by the roadside.
Even Wen Zhili's eyes showed curiosity.
The blue sky is clear, the grassland is vast and soft, and the sheep are like scattered snow.
Wen Zhili turned to look at Wen Yan. The girl was a little excited, but she just looked at the flock of sheep from afar, squinting her eyes slightly, following the whispers of the wind, and drowning herself in this overflowing tranquility and vastness.
She noticed that the tip of her sister's nose was a little red from the grassland wind. After thinking for a moment, she decided to use lotion to disturb her sister who was in high spirits after getting in the car.
Is there anything more beautiful than blue sky and green grass?
some.
It is Yanyan with smiling eyes in the blue sky and green grass.
The three of them returned to the car and continued on their journey. Seeing that Wen Yan seemed much more sober, the guide was no longer afraid of disturbing her and boldly started a conversation with Wen Zhili: "From the software information, I see that you are only 20 years old and still in college?"
"Yes."
Wen Zhili answered, took out the moisturizer and gently touched the tip of Wen Yan's nose. Wen Yan tilted her head slightly and let her rub it on.
"Which school do you go to? What's your major? Is it convenient for me to ask?"
"Jiang Da, Computer Science."
After Wen Zhili said this lightly, the guide turned half of his head to look at her, his face full of surprise and admiration.
"Oh, a top student."
"I've said that."
Wen Zhili put the lotion back and responded with a polite smile.
Ever since asking that question, the guide would chat with Wen Zhili from time to time, asking her what it was like to study at Jiangnan University, whether computer science was difficult to learn, whether she had a romantic relationship in college, etc.
Wen Zhili answered each question patiently and concisely.
Wen Yan looked at the guide in front of him who couldn't stop talking, and then looked at Wen Zhili who was calm and composed beside him, and felt very angry.
That guy's calculations fell on my face.
bother.
bother.
bother.
Wen Yan was feeling sullen when he suddenly felt a heat in his ears.
Wen Zhili gently brought her head to his shoulder and looked at her with a pair of smiling eyes that seemed to see through something, which made her cheeks feel hot.
Then, a warm palm covered her eyelids, and Wen Yan heard her sister's soft voice whispering: "Sleep for a while, Yanyan. It's too early to get up in the morning."
As if to coax her.
I felt much better after hearing the gentle words.
In fact, the car was shaking so much that Wen Yan had already felt sleepy.
So she hummed softly like a kitten having its fur stroked to express her agreement, and soon fell asleep leaning on her sister's shoulder.
After the guide found out that Wen Yan was asleep, he stopped making any noise and the car became quiet.
Wen Zhili tilted his head slightly to look at her. His sister's long eyelashes drooped, and she swayed gently with the speed of the car. Her fair cheeks were dimpled by his shoulders, making her look very soft.
He looks so cute when he's sleeping.
Wen Zhili's eyes were so soft and gentle that he didn't even notice it.
…
"Yanyan, wake up."
Wen Yan opened her eyes hazily, and her pupils reflected the gentle smile of her sister above her.
"Yanyan, the Morgele River."
Needless to say, Wen Yan became excited when she heard it and quickly pulled her sister out of the car.
The car was parked at a commanding height on a cliff, high enough to overlook a large river.
The midsummer wind blows across the grassland, and the Morgele River wakes up.
Like a Hada crumpled by the wind, it meanders lazily, hiding the stories left by all passers-by in the quietly flowing river.
It turns out that this is the legendary "No. 1 Curved Water in the World".
Wen Yan felt very comfortable.
Looking up, I see the blue sky and white clouds; looking down, I see the green grass and river; turning around, I see Wen Zhili standing quietly in the wind, her hair slightly fluttering.
Wen Yan's gaze followed a halo of light that was slowly drifting downstream on the broad river surface, hoping that such a moment could pass more slowly - slow enough for her to count the shadows cast by her sister's eyelashes on her cheeks, some of which were trembling slightly.
"That's an oboo, used by locals for praying."
The guide standing next to Wen Yan suddenly spoke, pointing his finger at a huge pile of stones not far away, which was wrapped with many blue Hadas.
Now Wen Yan noticed that there were many small piles of stones on the ground, made up of only a few stones.
She asked the guide, "Can I build one myself?"
"Of course you can, but I don't have any Hada to wrap around you, haha."
Wen Yan turned around and looked at her sister, who smiled and nodded at her.
After getting the consent, Wen Yan began to look for stones that caught his eye with great interest.
She only found five small flat stones and built a tiny pile.
Although it was not very beautiful, she had to proudly ask her sister to come and see the "Aobao" she made.
She just stood up and turned around with satisfaction, but the word "sister" was stuck in her throat.
——Because Wen Zhili was having a pleasant conversation with the guide.
In reality, they were just having a normal chat. Wen Yan couldn't explain why she suddenly felt an unignorable sense of anxiety in her heart.
It was because - it was because her sister's smile was so gentle and sincere - it was not the kind of polite and proper smile, but the kind of smile that she was familiar with and usually only showed to herself.
Why, she asked, was she smiling so happily at her guide, a boy she had only known for a few hours?
She was so beautiful, so beautiful that even in such a complicated mood, Wen Yan couldn't take his eyes off her face. She was so beautiful that Wen Yan felt that the beautiful scenery in front of him could only serve as her foil.
The sunshine is flowing honey, the grassland is overflowing green, and Wen Zhili - she standing there is already a long summer song of the Morgele River.
Her serene smile will tell you, her gentle eyes will tell you.
The river water here is always young, always clear, and always sparkling in the light of early summer.
It was at this moment when obsession and jealousy were fighting fiercely that Wen Zhili finally looked over.
He was stunned at first, and then an expression came over his face that was hard to tell whether it was confusion or panic.
Wen Yan realized that her expression must be very ugly.
Summer Song was watching her.
Wrap her with your eyes, with the soft river water, and with some warm concern bathed in the sun.
So the despicable fire in my heart was easily extinguished.
Wen Yan gave her a weak smile and walked straight towards the car company. When passing by them, he deliberately avoided his sister's questioning gaze and only said softly: "It's a bit cold in the wind. You guys chat slowly, I'll go sit in the car for a while."
Almost as soon as Wen Yan sat down in the back seat, Wen Zhili followed.
She was considering where to start explaining - although she hadn't figured out why she was so anxious to explain - but she saw Wen Yan gave her a cute and innocent smile the moment he saw her.
"Sister, why are you here so quickly?"
Wen Zhili's brain seemed to be in a state of turmoil.
Not angry?
"Just... come and see you."
"Why, I'm not a three-year-old child."
Wen Yan teased her instead.
"I'm so sleepy, let me sleep a little longer."
After saying that, she gently closed her eyes and leaned her head against the car window, no longer on her sister's shoulder.
Now the words for explanation got stuck in my throat, and speaking them out seemed incomprehensible.
Wen Zhili was a little confused, and finally he could only sigh silently in his heart and said softly: "Go to sleep."
…
In the morning, the vehicle arrived at the Ergun Wetland again. At noon, we tasted grassland grilled lamb chops in a small town we passed by. We spent most of the afternoon on the road. Today's journey was more than 300 kilometers.
We arrived at the "coldest" Genhe around 6pm and checked into a local wooden house hotel. The location was a bit remote, but there was a small town two or three kilometers away.
Because this place is also in the Northeast region, the two of them found a Northeastern Chinese restaurant for dinner on the recommendation of the guide.
Northeastern cuisine is large in portion, and the three of them ate slowly until eight o'clock before lazily walking back.
It was a little after eight o'clock when the sky here began to show some pink.
“It gets dark so late here.”
Wen Zhili seemed to be talking to his sister casually.
Wen Yan didn't respond, or perhaps before she could, the guide started chattering, "Yes, that's how it is here. The days are long in the summer and short in the winter..."
Wen Zhili looked at Wen Yan who was looking up at the sky quietly, wondering whether her sister was angry or not - she had been thinking about it in her mind all day, but still couldn't make up her mind.
Wen Yan wasn't silent today, nor was he forcing a smile. He even spent a long time chatting with the guide in the car that afternoon about roasted whole lamb, hand-pulled meat, and salty milk tea...
But Wen Zhili still felt it was abnormal.
For example, when they arrived at the Ergun Wetland, Wen Zhili habitually waved his hand back after getting off the car, but she did not hold it, but chose to walk forward side by side.
For example, after lunch, Wen Zhili handed her a tissue and she said "thank you".
For example, now, the two of them returned to the room and took a shower. Wen Zhili took out the apples he bought in the town, washed them and handed them to her.
But she said, "Forget it, it's too troublesome to eat."
He didn't pout at her, nor did he even call her sister.
Wen Zhili didn't say anything, nor did he put down his hand holding the apple, he just looked at her quietly.
Wen Yan blinked at her in confusion.
In the end, Wen Zhili just rubbed his sister's head helplessly, turned around and walked out.
