Chapter 181 Release

Chapter 181 Release

Every time she came to Guiyun Chushuang, she had to go to Yunli Mountain to worship Buddha and pray for blessings. She and Sheng Ting set out early in the morning before the sun rose.

Birds kept singing in the forest as we walked up the mountain along the path. The mountain mist was steaming in the early morning, and the air was fresh and refreshing. The walk was not boring at all.

When you climb halfway up the mountain, the sound of bells from the top of the mountain echoes among the mountains and forests, adding a sense of solemnity.

After burning incense and praying at Daoqing Temple, the two stayed there for a vegetarian meal and then set out down the mountain in the afternoon.

Taking another route down the mountain, halfway through, I accidentally came across a waterfall in the valley. The water was rushing down and splashing everywhere, and there was a pool of emerald green water below.

From their position, the small waterfall was hidden in the canopy of trees, and the sound of the majestic water was endless. On a clear summer afternoon, it was truly refreshing.

"It has rained a lot recently, and this waterfall is actually full of water. We came at the perfect time."

Chu Shuang wanted to take out her cell phone to record the beautiful scenery before her, but when she touched her body, she was stunned.

"What's wrong?" Sheng Ting asked.

"I left my phone at the temple. Wait for me, I'll go get it."

Sheng Ting held her back and said, "I'll go get it. You sit down and rest for a while."

Hatsushimo: "I'll go with you."

"No, I'll be back soon, you can take a rest."

It would take at least 10 to 20 minutes to go back and forth. Chu Shuang felt a little guilty, "I'm sorry, I'm so forgetful and made you run so hard."

Sheng Ting pinched her cheek and said, "It's just a short mountain road, everyone loses something at some point."

He opened the lid of the thermos and handed it to her. "This location has a great view. Drink some water and wait for me. I'll be back soon."

Hatsushimo raised her head and chuckled, "Okay."

After Sheng Ting left, Chu Shuang sat on a rock by the roadside and admired the small waterfall in the mountains for a while.

The roar of the water seemed to be mixed with the cries of a child. At first I thought it was an auditory hallucination, but after a while I could hear the sound more clearly.

The entire waterfall could not be seen from this position, so Hatsushimo stood up and walked down the stone steps.

After walking a little further down, she saw clearly that two children were circling around the pond anxiously, staring at the center of the pond helplessly. In the pond was a little boy of seven or eight years old.

Chu Shuang's heart tightened and she ran down the stairs quickly.

The two children on the shore were terrified and cried for help. One of the little girls took a wooden stick she found from somewhere and stretched it into the water, but the boy was too far away and it was of no use.

"Don't move! Don't go near the water, stand further away!"

Fearing that something might happen to her, Chu Shuang reminded her loudly.

Seeing someone coming, the two children cried even harder, pointing their fingers into the water, "Save...save him..."

Before she could catch her breath after running down from the top, she saw the child in the water's struggling movements becoming smaller and smaller. Chu Shuang's pupils shrank and he jumped into the pool.

The water in the pond was clear and piercing, the sound of water rumbled in my ears, and Chu Shuang's heartbeat was like a violently beaten drum. My body was tense and there was only one thought in my mind: swim faster, swim faster.

Her heart skipped a beat when she pulled the little boy's collar. Without caring about anything else, she swam desperately towards the shore with the child.

In a highly nervous situation, she felt like she had endless energy. She ran down from the top in one breath and rescued the child. She finally dared to breathe a sigh of relief.

The rescued little boy was unconscious. Hatsushimo was dragging his body to drain the water in his chest. There were footsteps beside him, and a man and a woman came hurriedly.

The woman's legs almost went limp when she saw this scene, and she quickly took the child to drain the water.

Hatsushiro sat aside, gasping for breath. The other two children had not stopped crying yet. Her eyes fell empty on the children's slightly pale faces, not realizing that her lips were also pale.

The water in the chest cavity was drained, and the boy woke up slowly, spitting.

Fortunately, Hatsushiro finally exhaled a breath of foul air.

The child's parents then reacted and came to thank her. The couple's eyes were red with tears. They thanked her profusely, yet at the same time they felt regretful for not taking good care of the child.

"It's okay, it's nothing, as long as the child is safe."

Chu Shuang smiled calmly, then stood up and left.

After she left, the couple was still comforting their child. Even after Chushuang had walked far away, she could still hear the father's angry and distressed voice as he was educating his child.

Leaving the waterfall and walking to a flat place, the sunlight fell and the warm feeling enveloped the whole body. Chushuang stretched out his hand to touch the sunlight and suddenly, a drop of crystal fell on the palm of his hand.

After watching for a few seconds, she covered her eyes and burst into tears.

Ten years ago, when she was so young, she watched her beloved brother drown. For many years, she dared not even think about that day. When she thought about it, she would hate herself so much for being powerless at that time.

If only she were an adult by then and could swim.

If only someone could help my brother...

Later, she worked hard to learn how to swim, and she woke up in dreams countless midnights. Her dreams brought her soul back to the bridge at that time, and she successfully rescued her brother time and time again.

Once, just one chance, she will definitely bring her brother back!

She had practiced this thousands of times in her dreams, and she would not fail, just like when she saved the child just now...

Hatsushimo burst into tears, "Brother, after so many years, I finally forgive myself and you."

She once hated him for risking his life for someone who was seeking death and abandoning her, but when it really happened to her, she realized that she couldn't just stand by and watch.

How to watch?

That is a living life.

My brother is such a good person, even if he had a hundred chances, he would still choose to save people.

Ten years later, when she saw the frightened child struggling in the water and she ran down without thinking, she finally understood his choice.

After seeing the child waking up safely and the grateful parents reunited as a family, she finally felt relieved.

When Sheng Ting came back after getting the phone, he saw Chu Shuang, who was crying for some reason and was soaked in tears. His heart tightened and he quickly ran over.

"Hatsushimo, what happened?"

Chu Shuang raised her eyes and saw the man's worried expression through her tears. Her nose felt sore again and she hugged him tightly.

"Sheng Ting, I'm finally relieved. I don't blame my brother anymore."

"I now truly understand your action of jumping into the sea to save others. You are all very good people..."

Her tears wet his clothes. Seeing her sudden emotional outburst, Sheng Ting hugged her speechlessly, gently stroking her back with his hands to comfort her silently.

She cried for a while and then calmed down. Sheng Ting took out a tissue to wipe her face, and the family from under the waterfall also came up.

When the parents saw Chushuang, they came over and expressed their gratitude and even offered a reward, but Chushuang politely declined.

After going down the mountain and returning to the car, Chu Shuang realized that the man had said very little along the way.

After fastening her seat belt, she glanced at the people around her. Sheng Ting didn't rush to drive. He took out a cigarette from the car and just before lighting it, he paused as if he remembered something, and the flame went out.

He threw away the lighter, his profile looking a little grim.

"Did you just rescue someone?"

Hatsushimo pursed her lips, "Yeah."

There was silence in the car for a long time. Sheng Ting opened and closed his thin lips several times, and swallowed his words.

Looking at the person beside him again, he sighed slowly and got her a thick towel from the back seat.

"Don't take such a risk next time," he said, his eyes dark and his expression slightly tense, "I finally know how you felt the last time you saw me."

"I can't blame you, but I'm really scared, Hatsushimo."

Hatsushimo pressed his arm and said softly, "We're even now."

The man stared at her for a long time, and couldn't help but tap her forehead, "How did you teach me before? Why do you still..."

"I'm sorry, I made you worry. It's all over so let's not talk about it anymore, okay?" Chu Shuang pulled his arm and looked at him with narrowed eyes.

Glancing at her flattering smile, Sheng Ting couldn't even get angry, but he still said something principled.

"From now on, you have to save people under the premise of ensuring your own safety. Do you understand?"

"Got it, you too."

The man replied calmly, "Yeah."

Hatsushimo poked him and said, "Go home, it's a bit cold."

She also knows cold.

Sheng Ting couldn't bear it anymore, so he pinched her nose and said in a low voice, "This won't be an exception next time."

Hatsushimo kissed him on the lips, "Don't make an exception next time."
