3. Fire in the Stone, Body in the Dream
Qingshan Hospital, 11:30 pm.
Old Liu, the doctor on duty tonight, had just poured himself a cup of strong tea when the door was kicked open with a bang.
"What are you doing?" Old Liu shouted angrily.
"Second knife, hold him down."
"Press where?"
"On the table."
Erdao strode up to Lao Liu and pressed his head on the table with a thud, causing half of his face to feel burning with pain.
Brother Pao pushed Chen Shuo and Wang Huiling into the ward slowly and said, "Chen Shuo confessed that you accepted 50,000 yuan from him and conspired to lock his eldest nephew in a mental hospital?"
Old Liu roared, "Someone, someone, someone! There's a medical disturbance!"
There were hurried footsteps in the corridor, but Pao Ge was not panicked at all. He just took off his Tang suit, slowly rolled up the sleeves of his shirt, revealing his arms full of tattoos and muscles.
When a primitive beast sheds its disguise in the face of its prey, everyone it targets must cherish their lives.
When two male nurses appeared at the door, Pao Ge leaned slightly to the right to avoid a punch. The next second, he hit one of the male nurses in the jaw with a thunderous hook, knocking him into a stiff state.
Before the other male nurse could react, Brother Pao flashed in front of him like a jaguar and hit him in the jaw with another hook punch!
"Too weak."
Just as he finished speaking, he heard two thuds, and the two male nurses fell to the ground unconscious like two wooden sticks.
Brother Pao turned and looked at Lao Liu, who was pinned to the table: "Is there anyone else?"
“No…no more.”
"Can you speak properly now?"
“Yes! Yes!”
"Okay, three of us squat in a row," Pao-ge pulled a chair and sat down, crossing his legs. "Is Chen Ji mentally ill?"
"No, no," Lao Liu said, "He just has a bit of a dysfunctional brain circuit. He has mild violent and depressed tendencies, but he's not really sick."
Brother Pao lit a cigarette and said, "That's strange. If he predicted your plan, why did you guys still get him in?"
"He wants to use you to get revenge on us!"
Brother Pao shook his head: "No, he came to me specifically to get a loan, so he must know what I do. Then why not just give me the money and buy your legs? Why put himself in a mental hospital?"
Chen Shuo: “…”
Brother Pao suddenly asked, "Did you kill his parents?"
Chen Shuo wanted to cry but had no tears: "His parents died in a car accident. The driver has been found. It has nothing to do with us."
Pao Ge gestured for Chen Shuo to stretch out his hand, then flicked the ash into the other's palm. "A seventeen-year-old child's parents have only been gone for half a year, and you uncles and aunts are coveting his house. You are such a piece of shit. And you, doctor, you've done this kind of thing before, haven't you?"
Old Liu said hurriedly, "I've never hurt anyone before. The patients I've treated were all those who committed crimes and didn't want to go to jail, so they came to me to get a diagnosis certificate."
"Oh?" Brother Pao thought thoughtfully: "What crimes have those people committed?"
"The latest one is a gangster named Wang Long who does earth-moving business. Half a year ago, he hit and killed a couple with his car..." When Old Liu said this, he suddenly looked up at Brother Pao in horror.
With a hiss, Pao Ge pressed the cigarette butt into Chen Shuo's palm in shock, and screams echoed throughout the corridor.
Pao Ge put on a black Tang suit and walked out, grabbing Lao Liu's sparse hair. "I know why he must go to the mental hospital. You are really lacking in virtue to harm such a child. Erdao, give them some punishment to teach them a lesson. I will take this doctor to the sixth floor. I know Wang Long.
It’s not that easy to deal with.”
Chen Shuo was shaking like a sieve. "This is a hospital. There are surveillance cameras. You can't commit murder here!"
Erdao scratched the scar on his bald head: "Brother Pao, execute immediately?"
“Do it repeatedly.”
…
…
Snoring sounds were heard in the ward. Chen Ji lay on the bed with his eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling quietly.
He found that the sleep talking in mental hospitals was particularly frequent and difficult to understand.
In a trance, he seemed to have returned to his childhood and heard the clanging sound of the green train starting.
Chen Ji was frail and sickly when he was young. He always heard shouting and killing in his dreams, so his father had to take him to BJ to seek medical treatment frequently.
When they had no money, the two of them would buy standing tickets for the green train.
They would sit in the open space between the two carriages. When Chen Ji felt sleepy, he would lie in his father's arms and take a nap. When he was hungry, his father would take out instant noodles from his backpack, get some hot water, and then hold the noodles in his hands for him to eat first.
When he woke up, Chen Ji leaned against the car door glass and asked a hundred thousand questions, and his father answered them patiently.
Later, when he was 12 years old, he recovered from his illness, and his father made money from business and bought a villa.
On summer nights, his mother taught him to use a flashlight to look for cicadas that had just emerged from the ground in the yard, soak them in salt water, and then fry them and eat them.
During the Chinese New Year, my mother would take Chen Ji with her to cut window flowers, paste Spring Festival couplets, and steam beautifully shaped steamed buns.
On the hospital bed, Chen Ji was lost in thought, gently wiping away his tears with his fingers.
Li Qingniao came to his window at some point and said, "Now, if you sell me something, I can answer one more question for you."
Chen Ji's eyes were empty but deep: "What do you want to buy?"
"cicada."
"How old is the cicada?"
"Twelve-year-old cicada."
“Not for sale.”
At this time, Chen Shuo's screams of pain came from downstairs, echoing throughout the hospital.
There's no time.
Chen Ji turned over and jumped off the bed. He took out a dagger from the straps on his thigh, threw away the scabbard and ran straight to a place in the ward.
He was a little scared, scared of what he was about to do and the consequences after he did it.
But he had no other choice.
Wang Long, while drunk, fatally struck a man and a woman, then fled the scene. The victim's death resulted from delayed medical treatment. The next day, Wang Long surrendered to the police, but had previously obtained a medical certificate from Qingshan Mental Hospital. The court was about to review the certificate, but Wang Long's family gathered more than 60 earthmoving drivers to protest the courthouse, resulting in the case being dropped. Wang Long escaped trial and was admitted to Qingshan Hospital.
But how can you escape judgment?
Chen Ji came quietly to Wang Long's bedside and stabbed him with the dagger with all his might.
Wang Long suddenly opened his eyes and grabbed Chen Ji's wrist with his strong hands. He sneered, "Do you really think I don't know you?"
During the lawsuit, Chen Ji had always asked his lawyer to represent him, so he and Wang Long had never met. However, Wang Long wanted to reconcile with the family of the deceased, so he naturally asked someone to investigate him.
So when Wang Long saw Chen Ji appear here, he knew what Chen Ji was planning.
He said hurriedly, "I can compensate you with more money! A lot of money! Your parents are gone, you have to learn to move on!"
He didn't want to kill anyone again. If he did, he would have to stay here for the rest of his life.
Chen Ji silently pressed the tip of the knife down, getting closer to Wang Long's chest.
"Looking for death!" Wang Long's strength was much greater than that of the young man. He roared and snatched Chen Ji's dagger.
, he stabbed Chen Ji's left waist with his backhand, penetrating his ribs.
Wang Long originally thought that this blow was enough to make Chen Ji lose all his fighting ability, but what he didn't expect was that when he grabbed the knife, Chen Ji didn't resist at all. Instead, he took advantage of the gap between his hands and bit his carotid artery like a beast!
Blood continued to seep out from between Chen Ji's lips and teeth, staining the pillow black and purple.
Chen Ji felt the fishy sweetness between his teeth, and the touch of blood spraying into his mouth and then flowing out.
It was his first time killing someone for revenge, and he was so frightened that his heart was trembling, but he held on tightly and refused to let go.
Wang Long felt the pain in his neck, which made him tremble like an electric current. It was a sense of crisis that was close to death.
He pulled out the dagger that had pierced Chen Ji's chest and abdomen, and stabbed it again fiercely: "Let go!"
"Let go!"
"Let go..."
With roars and stabbings, Chen Ji did not respond. Instead, his teeth tightened and he bit off a piece of flesh from Wang Long's neck.
Wang Long's pupils began to blur. He twirled the dagger in his hand while muttering, "Is it really that serious? Is it really that serious..."
But what Wang Long didn't understand was that for Chen Ji, his life had long been left in the past by that car accident, endless and unable to be freed.
The dark purple blood flowed over the white pillow, just like it flowed over the traces of life.
With a click, the iron door of the ward was opened from the outside, and Pao Ge, wearing a black Tang suit, appeared at the door, grabbing Lao Liu's hair.
Wang Long's right hand finally loosened the hilt of the knife, letting it hang down helplessly.
Chen Ji raised his head with blood all over his face and looked at Pao Ge. He was trembling all over, perhaps from fear or the aftereffects of the adrenaline rush.
Pao Ge sighed and said, "It's too late."
Chen Ji fell to the foot of the bed, clutching the wound on his waist, and whispered to Pao Ge, "I'm sorry."
Brother Pao knew the boy was talking about taking advantage of him, so he grinned and said, "It's okay. Even though you're dying, it's not too late to get to know each other now. My real name is Chen Chong, and my friends like to call me Brother Pao."
"Okay, Brother Pao."
"First time killing someone? You remained calm beforehand, but used all your strength when killing, without a word of nonsense. I like it," Pao Ge kicked Lao Liu aside and lit a cigarette.
Chen Ji laughed bitterly: "You are going to die anyway."
As he spoke, blood continued to flow out of Chen Ji's wound.
"A cigarette?"
"No."
"Do you need help?"
"My phone is with Dr. Liu. It should have recorded evidence of his illegal dealings with my second uncle. Please send it out for me."
Brother Pao never expected that this young man would remember to take fair revenge on every enemy before he died...
He sat next to Chen Ji and asked, "Do you have any other wishes?"
"No more," Chen Ji's voice became weaker and weaker. He felt sleepy, but he was reluctant to close his eyes. He just stared out the window at the crescent moon.
In the ward, the patients slowly stood up and looked over here silently.
Li Qingniao came to Chen Ji's side, slowly caressed Chen Ji's eyes, and whispered: "Sigh, you are a colt in the gap, a fire in the stone, and a body in a dream. The forty-nine heavens cannot hold you back. Go, go to where you should go."
After saying this, he returned to his idiotic appearance and sat beside the bed. Pao Ge covered Chen Ji with his black Tang suit and turned to walk towards the darkness outside the ward: "What a pity, we met too late."
