Chapter 64: The Little Master of the Doomsday (Yuhui) 11

Chapter 64: The Little Master of the Doomsday (Yuhui) 11

The sky above the school was gray, and it was still early, with the sky not yet fully bright, which made people feel inexplicably depressed.

A figure as thin and agile as a black panther quickly shuttled through the branches and leaves on the green belt, leaving only the almost inaudible sound of leaves rubbing against each other.

Then, the figure slowly stopped on a sycamore tree in front of the gymnasium. Lin Kai slowly bent down, and his sharp eyes swept around the gymnasium, roughly understanding the situation.

The glass door of the gymnasium was tightly closed, with many horrifying bloody handprints remaining on it, making it easy to imagine what kind of tragedy had occurred here at the beginning of the apocalypse.

Lin Kai couldn't see clearly what was happening inside the gymnasium.

But the situation outside the stadium was indeed not optimistic. At least if any living person went in, they would definitely be overwhelmed by zombies immediately. The stadium was surrounded by zombies in three layers inside and outside, and the glass door was often hit by their heads, making a banging sound.

It's like they know there are living people inside.

Lin Kai frowned slightly. He looked up at the window on the second floor of the gymnasium. The window was half open. He estimated the distance between the two. He was quite close to the window on the second floor. As long as he could grab the window frame, there would be no problem.

Lin Kai lowered his head and tightened the recurve bow and quiver on his back.

As for not being able to catch...

He paused for a strange moment while tightening the buckle, but still managed to find a way to laugh.

If he hadn't grabbed hold and fell, with his speed and reaction, he should have been able to escape from the zombie swarm, but he might have suffered some pain.

When Lin Kai saw the arrows with snow-white tail feathers in the quiver, he couldn't help but chuckle. It seemed that he should consider the situation of catching her better. Otherwise, if he broke his promise and failed to teach her archery, Lin Kai could imagine the aggrieved expression on her fair and clean little face because of the loss.

After all the equipment was fastened, Lin Kai lowered his body with his back arched, like an arrow ready to be launched. His toes pressed hard against the branches beneath his feet, and his fingers, which were holding onto the tree trunk, were cold, white and slender. Perhaps because he was too nervous and exerted too much force, his knuckles had turned white.

Lin Kai took several deep breaths to calm himself down, then pushed off with force.

The tree branch creaked when it was kicked, and the tall and thin young man was firmly hanging on the edge of the second-floor window. The originally aimless group of zombies raised their heads, stared at the fresh flesh and blood above their heads with gray eyes, and stretched out their hands, just like the surface of the boiling water thrown into the sodium block.

Lin Kai held on tightly, and strong muscle lines appeared on his thin arms. He raised his leg, kicked the wall, turned over and jumped in.

The second floor was empty and so quiet it gave me goosebumps.

Lin Kai pulled out an arrow from the quiver and moved forward cautiously. The corridor was pitch black and he could only vaguely see the strange green light of the emergency exit indicator light and hear his own footsteps.

Lin Kai didn't see a single zombie until he reached the end of the corridor, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

At the end of the corridor is the stairwell. Perhaps because it is broken, the smoke alarm installed in the corner at the top of the stairwell has been flashing a bright red light.

Just as Lin Kai was about to put away the arrow in his hand and quicken his pace to go upstairs to look for someone, a figure walked out of the dim stairwell filled with red light.

Lin Kai paused in collecting the arrow, his eyes were a little cold. The person standing in front of him was Li Yang.

Li Yang walked leisurely from the stairwell to Lin Kai with his hands in his pockets. A strange red light covered his body, and his face looked a bit hideous under the light.

His pace was unusually leisurely, as if he was not afraid of the zombies surrounding him downstairs at all. It felt more like he was strolling in the garden.

Lin Kai's eyes fell on Li Yang's sweatshirt. There was a large dark spot on the fabric at his chest and neck. He didn't know if it was blood or something else. He took a step back cautiously, his expression cold and indifferent.

"Captain, what a coincidence."

Li Yang naturally noticed that Lin Kai was on guard against him, so he put on a false smile and rolled his gray right eye.

He didn't expect that the captain of the team was so much more wary than the coach who scolded him every day. You know, the coach was extremely excited when he saw him just now. He followed him out of the classroom and patted his shoulder like an elder teacher.

Thinking of the coach who always frowned and scolded him for not taking training seriously and said he was not worthy of being an athlete, the shocked and terrified expression on his face after he was strangled by the neck, lifted up and bitten on the neck, and the scene of him finally falling in a pool of blood and twitching like a zombie, Li Yang wanted to laugh.

Lin Kai frowned slightly, trying to maintain a superficial harmony between the two. "I thought I heard your voice in the library building just now. What happened to you?"

It really sounds like she cares about him.

Li Yang's smile became even more twisted. He licked the bloody and fleshy residue between his teeth. It was what the coach had left behind, and it didn't taste very good. He mercilessly exposed Lin Kai's disguise, "My dear captain, you want to ask why I'm in the gym, right?"

Lin Kai keenly noticed his abnormal eye. Even though Li Yang deliberately wore a baseball cap, Lin Kai still noticed it when he inadvertently raised his head while talking.

The grayish-white, turbid eye color...is no different from the zombies Lin Kai had seen before.

Lin Kai unconsciously tightened his grip on the arrow.

The Li Yang standing before him now clearly had human thinking, completely different from those slow-moving zombies. But was he still truly human?

Coupled with Li Yang's strange question, Lin Kai immediately thought of the open window on the second floor. Alarm bells rang in his heart. He stared at Li Yang closely, his tone almost uncontrollable, "What are you doing here?"

"Captain, what exactly do you mean?" Li Yang's smile deepened a little, and he said bluntly, "Captain, I think you want to know how Coach Liu is doing?"

Lin Kai's expression, which was not good to begin with, changed drastically, and his tone instantly became icy cold. "What did you do to the coach?!"

Li Yang carelessly tugged at his sweatshirt, which was stained with blood. That was where the blood splashed from the artery at Coach Liu's neck when he had just ripped it open. He laughed even more wantonly, "What did you do?"

Li Yang paused deliberately, admiring Lin Kai's tense and cold expression for a long moment before continuing with a smile, "I turned him into a zombie."

As soon as he finished speaking, Li Yang kicked the door of the stairwell and dragged the two team coaches out from behind the door.

But to be precise, he was no longer the strict and kind coach that Lin Kai remembered. To be precise, he had turned into a zombie. If Li Yang had not stepped on his body, he would have roared and pounced on Lin Kai.

When he saw the familiar face clearly, Lin Kai was almost unable to control his emotions. The hand holding the arrow was shaking slightly, his knuckles were pale, and his sharp eyes were filled with murderous intent that was not concealed at all.

Li Yang smiled and squatted down. He pointed at the blood on Coach Liu's face and mouth and looked up at Lin Kai and said, "Look, Captain, your most respected coach, after turning into a zombie, rushed straight towards the junior students he had been protecting for several days. I was very kind to the coach. Seeing that he seemed to be hesitating and struggling, I dragged a junior student to his mouth..."

Before Li Yang could finish his words, an arrow pierced Coach Liu's head. Immediately afterwards, Lin Kai rushed over, grabbed Li Yang by the collar, and pinned him against the wall. Cold words escaped Lin Kai's lips with difficulty, and he said word by word, "Li Yang, you beast."

The black hair on his forehead could not hide the murderous intent bursting out of his eyes.

Li Yang showed no fear. He raised his hand and said with a smile, "Captain Lin, you are so cruel. You actually killed Coach Liu, who loved you the most, with your own hands."

You know, every time Lin Kai came back from winning a championship, Coach Liu, who was usually serious and scolded him, suddenly became like a different person, praising Lin Kai for his good performance and saying that he played the leading role that a captain should have.

After saying that, Li Yang raised his leg and was about to kick Lin Kai's shin bone without mercy. If the kick hit him with such great force, he would most likely break the bone.

Lin Kai reacted extremely quickly and dodged. After he broke free, Li Yang pounced on him instantly, and the two began to wrestle in the corridor.

In the reading room, Tang Mingpo raised his wrist to check the time on his watch and pursed his lips.

There were only a few minutes left before the time Lin Kai had told him, and an ominous premonition lingered in his heart like a haze. He finally decided to go to the gymnasium to find Lin Kai. He talked to the tall Zhao Zemu in the corner for a few words and prepared to leave.

Before Tang Mingpo hurriedly left the reading room, Song Qingqing called out to him. Tang Mingpo stopped and turned around. His soft golden hair drooped, and he looked listless. But he still asked patiently, "What's wrong, Qingqing?"

The girl in camouflage combat uniform found his dropped baseball bat from the corner and handed it to him, looking up at him. "You forgot to bring your baseball bat. It's easy to make mistakes in a hurry. Be careful."

Tang Mingpo then rubbed her messy hair embarrassedly and took it. The tips of her ears were a little red.

Before leaving, Tang Mingpo hesitated for a moment, but eventually he couldn't help but lean over to the girl and whispered to her, "Qingqing, will you wait for me to come back?"

Tang Mingpo and Lin Kai are both her targets. As long as Zhao Zemu doesn't find out, there shouldn't be any problem, right?

Song Qingqing pursed her lips and looked at Zhao Zemu, who was talking with the combat team members not far away. She covered their faces with her hands, secretly kissed Tang Mingpo on the tip of her ear, and whispered, "Then you and Senior Lin Kai need to hurry back."

The boy, who had received an unexpected surprise, almost jumped up in excitement, but he still remembered the important matter. Before leaving, he leaned over and stole a sweet and delicious kiss from the girl's soft lips. Only then did Tang Mingpo leave with satisfaction and rush to the gymnasium.

Song Qingqing turned around and met Zhao Zemu's gaze, which was terribly dark. He didn't know when he had ended his conversation with the team members, nor did he know how long he had been looking at the two people who were reluctant to leave.

The tall man stood against the wall with his arms folded, his expression gloomy, looking at the girl who was beginning to feel uneasy not far away.

Song Qingqing walked lightly to Zhao Zemu's side. Before she could figure out how to talk to Zhao Zemu, she heard the man's low and hoarse voice. The volume was not loud, but it was loud enough for both of them to hear.

"That guy is better at kissing, and it feels better when he kisses?"

Song Qingqing was stunned on the spot, her cheeks instantly flushed red, and she wanted to jump up and cover Zhao Zemu's thin lips that were talking dirty without restraint.

What is this guy talking about?!
