Chapter 35: Sparring

Chapter 35: Sparring

Nick knelt in the church's basement sanctuary, his eyes closed.

His back was straight, holding the holy emblem in his hand, and he was praying devoutly.

It was as if I had fallen into another time and space. The walls and ceiling became translucent, and I could see the gray fog rolling outside.

On the walls of the sanctuary, silver runes glowed.

Those faint rays radiated outward, and the gray fog that was illuminated emitted wisps of green smoke.

Gradually, the strange phenomenon disappeared and the walls in the room returned to normal.

The priest opened his eyes and stood up. He walked to the angel statue and looked at the much lighter milky white liquid in the copper basin under the statue's feet. He sighed softly, "The erosion of the full moon is getting more and more serious. One day, the spiritual plane will directly interfere with this world. What should we do then? Almighty Lord, please have mercy on your people."

. . . .

Crown sat cross-legged with his hands in the Great Sun Seal.

There was a faint smile on his face and his body felt warm.

After finishing his practice, he walked to the window and savored the warmth.

After he woke up from a nightmare last night, he couldn't fall asleep again, so he just meditated on the Golden Light Mantra.

In the dark shadows, although it took him a long time to enter the state of visualization, he was able to visualize successfully.

Through constant visualization, the cold feeling in the body after seeing or hearing evil visions was also dispelled.

This phenomenon made him more certain of his guess that the crimson full moon contained evil magic! After a full meal, Clown was anxious to get the priest's answer and hurried to the church.

When he arrived at the training ground in the backyard of the church, he found Nick already standing there.

He rushed over in surprise and greeted:

"Father, good morning! May the Lord of Fire shine upon you and me!"

Ever since he had completely defeated the opponent with his swordsmanship, he rarely saw the priest during the day.

I see him occasionally, and he comes to assign training tasks.

"May the Lord of Fire shine upon you and me," Nick responded with a smile.

He looked the young man up and down and said, "Yes, you are in good spirits. It seems that you slept well last night."

"Not safe at all," Crown shook his head and recounted in detail the vision he had seen in the moonlight last night.

As Nick listened to his narration, his expression became more serious.

When he finished speaking, the priest said to himself, "Mortals who have not entered the extraordinary world cannot perceive that kind of vision at all."

Only by entering the extraordinary world can one perceive that kind of strange phenomenon?

A hint of hesitation flashed across his face, and he didn't know whether to tell the priest that he had become a spirit master.

Geralt once said that there was a risk of a spirit master losing control, and if he told the priest, he was afraid that his journey to becoming a knight would end there. The church would not allow someone who was in danger of losing control to become an insider.

"Some artists in the city can occasionally dream about these scenes. Have you ever discovered that you have this ability?"

He shook his head, secretly glad that the priest's imagination saved him from having to explain this complicated situation.

"Perhaps the evil spirit has caused some kind of erosion on you, making your spiritual perception more acute. Later, on the night of the full moon, you stayed in the church."

Nick ordered, he didn't want anything to happen to his appointed right-hand man.

"In addition to your physical and strength training every day, I will teach you some basic knowledge about monsters. I have submitted an application to the church to give you a place as a Crusader. If the application is successful, you will officially be a member of the church and can enjoy all the benefits you deserve."

"Thank you for your advice, Father," Crown smiled.

If you want to join a powerful organization, you must hold on to its thighs.

He was a little worried again: "Father, you once said that every exorcist priest church would be equipped with several crusader warriors to assist, but you have never been assigned one. Will the church make things difficult for your application?"

Nick waved his hand and said with a smile, "You don't have to worry about that. The reason why the church didn't assign me any personnel is because they don't have enough staff, not because they don't have enough staff. I discovered and trained you myself. After the church recognizes you, they only need to pay you a fixed salary and supplies every month. They won't make it difficult, but will be happy to see it happen. This way, I won't have to ask for auxiliary personnel every day."

. . . .

Crown finished his training for the day and hurried to the Goat Inn.

When he found Geralt, he was sitting in a corner eating listlessly.

He walked forward and asked straight to the point: "Hey, Mr. Demon Hunter, I have a job offer and I wonder if you are interested in taking it."

"We'll take any job," Alan shouted. "No one will mess with Golden Shield. But, brother, we are friends, but business is business. The reward must be what we say. We will assess the price based on the danger of the commission."

There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!

The boy spoke very quickly without taking a breath. He must have said it countless times.

Crown quickly interrupted his chattering: "My employment is not dangerous. I would like to ask Mr. Geralt to practice swordsmanship with me."

The white-haired man squinted his eyes and looked over, and asked, "You want to learn my swordsmanship? I advise you not to waste your time on it. The swordsmanship of a demon hunter."

"Sir, you misunderstood me. I am not interested in the swordsmanship inherited from the demon hunters. I just want to hire you as my swordsmanship sparring partner. My swordsmanship is improving rapidly now. Father Nick can no longer put too much pressure on me."

"Progress quickly?"

The witcher gave an ambiguous smile.

He also knew a little about the opponent's situation. He had only learned swordsmanship for about ten days, so he didn't believe in how capable the opponent was.

"You guys definitely need to train to stay in combat form, and with me, you can earn some gold shields, so why not?"

"Teacher, let's accept this commission."

Alan shouted excitedly at the side that they didn't have many gold shields left and this winter would be very difficult. Now someone was offering money on their own initiative, so of course he was happy.

"I promise you, I'll charge you one gold shield per hour, no matter how long you practice every day."

Crown took out two gold shields from his pocket and placed them on the table. "No problem. I want to start tonight. Let's start with two hours, starting at 8 o'clock, in my backyard."

"Will it not affect your vision at night?"

Geralt had some doubts.

Demon hunters undergo training and swallow alchemical potions, and their bodies are transformed so that they can adapt to the dim environment of the night. Clown is just a spirit master. Could it be that his spirit master has the effects of witchcraft such as dark vision?

"Of course it doesn't affect me. Why would I waste my own money?"

The demon hunter nodded, "You have the final say, but I need to rest well tonight and let Alan practice with you. He has been learning swordsmanship for six years, which is more than enough to deal with you."

"See you tonight," Crown turned and left.
