Chapter 40: The Road to Extraordinary
"Did you start training this young man as soon as you arrived here? It must have cost you a lot of effort and money, right?"
Nick had a weird smile on his face. He coughed twice to ease his embarrassment. "I just saw him start training recently. He's been training for about a month. He's a genius."
"In one month, he has reached the standard for advancement to the extraordinary level. It seems that he has a strong foundation." Hamfa smiled enviously and said, "You have found a treasure."
Nick was about to say something, but in the end he swallowed his words.
Tell the other party that Clown was just an ordinary young man before he experienced the evil spirit incident? No, no, he was not going to tell anyone about this. With such a powerful helper, it was enough for him to know how good the young man's talent was.
He cleared his throat and changed the subject: "How come you arrived so quickly this time and brought so many things? According to past practice, the Office of Affairs would not care if you were not here for ten days or half a month."
Hamfa's expression immediately became serious, and he sat up straight unconsciously: "Do you remember the Catholic lecture when we officially became exorcist priests?"
"He said too much. Which one do you mean?"
"Night is coming, it may block the brilliance of the flame, but we always have hope in our hearts, and a bright future lies ahead," Hamfa said with his hands on the holy emblem on his chest, his eyes filled with determination.
"Hey, old friend, why are you so formal all of a sudden?" The priest felt that his old friend was too serious and joked.
"Nick, the Kingdom of Farouk is on the westernmost side of the continent. The Andes Mountains separate the kingdom from the sea. This is a landlocked country, and there are many things we don't know. Those former evil demons have awakened, and their huge cities that sank to the bottom of the sea have resurfaced in the world."
"When the gray fog permeates all corners of the world, true terror will come. The bishop has ordered that all churches must keep the holy flame burning forever."
The priest was confused by what he said, and he asked back: "Why don't I understand what you are saying?"
Hamfa took out a booklet from his pocket and handed it to his old friend: "Take a look, I just found out about it too."
Nick flipped through the book quickly. When he finished reading and closed the book, he clenched his fist unconsciously. "Those demons from the stars called the Old Ones are not dead, but sleeping in the sea. Now they have awakened again and want to shroud the world in darkness again. Are you sure this is not a nonsense novel?"
The fair-skinned priest did not reply, for he knew he needed to give his old friend some time to digest the frustrating news. When he heard all this from the cardinal himself, he was equally incredulous.
The enemy of the gods, and an enemy who has the upper hand in the war against the gods, sounds so desperate.
After a while, Nick calmed down and asked, "So, you brought the church's response method?"
"Yes, the light of faith can dispel the invasion of the gray fog. This is the method found by the gods at the end of the last era. We will ignite the fire of hope in the church to illuminate the world that is about to fall into darkness."
Hamfa paused and continued, "It will take a long time for the old masters to revive. Now only their followers are revived. By the time they wake up, the gods living in the sky will be able to break the barrier between the mortal world and the kingdom of God and descend into the world. The spirituality of the world is still improving, and we can also continue to become stronger. The church predicts that the Kingdom of Farouk will be invaded by the gray fog after the budding month of next year. We still have more than three months to prepare, and you have more time to prepare here."
"Haha, we actually have a time advantage in the remote area on the west side of the kingdom," Nick shook his head and smiled bitterly.
"The burning of the holy fire consumes the power of faith. We need to rearrange the formation for making holy water, which will take a lot of time. Does the church have much power of faith stored?"
"Not many. After all, there are only a few devout believers. The residents here work hard to make a living every day. They only worship once a week. At other times, no one comes to pray. I am worried that the light of faith is not enough to support the burning of the holy fire."
The priest was somewhat worried that the parish was remote, the population was small, and the light of faith collected was limited, so these problems could not be solved.
"Don't worry," Hamfa said slowly, "They will become pious. When the gray fog descends and despair spreads, they will all become devout believers. If a person is devout enough, the quality and quantity of the light of faith they collect will be greatly improved."
Nick also laughed. What his old friend said was very right. When people fall into despair and find that the church can really save them, they will definitely become devout, and may even become fanatics.
Bang bang.
A knock on the door interrupted the conversation between the two people in the room.
"My Lords, the man named Crown has arrived at the church."
"Okay," the priest replied, smiling, "Let's go, old friend, and witness my guardian officially become a transcendent."
"That's exactly what I meant."
The two walked out of the room and headed straight to the training ground.
. . . .
On the training ground, Crown, wearing a silver half-body armor, stood upright in the center.
Nick looked at his energetic demeanor and nodded with satisfaction. "Today, Father Hamfa brought a potion for advancement to the extraordinary. Fighting is the catalyst for advancement to the extraordinary. You will drink the potion and fight to the death with the priest's two Crusaders who have already advanced to the extraordinary. In desperation, you will awaken your own seed of life and complete the sublimation and leap of life level. Let me ask you, are you ready?"
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
"We're ready!"
Crown's voice was loud and his tone was firm and full of momentum.
"Then let's get started. Remember, the potion will burn your vitality. If you can't break through in the battle, you will die after your vitality is exhausted."
Nick handed him the red potion in his hand that looked like boiling magma.
Crown took the potion and swallowed it without any hesitation.
It was like drinking a mouthful of boiling water. The heat filled his mouth. The heat went down his throat and esophagus. He felt a raging fire burning in his body, and his skin seemed to be burning as well.
A red-bearded knight in leather armor appeared: "Come on, either start the extraordinary path, or die by my sword!"
Clown laughed loudly, picked up his sword and shook it in a sword flower.
Amidst the cold light, he rushed forward.
He understood that he had to squeeze out all his potential in order to advance to the extraordinary level.
With his arms stretched out and raised as he ran, his body left a shadow that pierced the red-bearded man with a nonchalant look on his face.
