Chapter 114 The dog sneaked away

Chapter 114 The dog sneaked away

"Don't go looking for trouble, this is the mistress's forbidden area!" one Tibetan mastiff shouted at the other.

"But Mianmian is locked inside. We can't just stand by and watch something happen to her."

The Tibetan Mastiff paced back and forth irritably. "Have you forgotten? The mistress uses witchcraft. She turned a dying white crane into a monster. If she finds out we released Mianmian, we'll be in for a world of hurt!"

These words were spoken very loudly, and the black crane in the secret room heard them clearly. It lowered its head forlornly, like a silent stone statue.

Suddenly, a warm feeling gently caressed the black crane's head. It was a soft, chubby little hand. Xie Mianmian comforted it, "We'll find someone to rescue you once we get out. You'll be alright."

The black crane remained silent.

The two Tibetan mastiffs outside continued talking.

“We only need to patrol for five hours a day now, and we also have delicious food. Mianmian helped us get it from our master. Have you forgotten the hard days when we had to patrol for eight hours a day?”

“I haven’t forgotten.” The Tibetan Mastiff stopped pacing, its gaze hardening. “Alright, today I’m going all out to protect Mianmian to the death!”

After searching for a while, the two Tibetan mastiffs finally knocked over a book on the bookshelf with a heavy paw, and the hidden little door opened silently.

The noisy chirping of cicadas in the courtyard, along with the scorching sunlight, flooded into this dark and cold secret room. Xie Mianmian raised her hand to her eyes to block out the dazzling light.

The child quickly walked out of the secret room, exhaling a breath of stale air. It felt so good to be back in the human world. "Thank you for opening the door for Mianmian! Don't worry, Mianmian won't let those bad women bully you!"

The Tibetan Mastiff, which had previously been somewhat hesitant, began to stomp its paw on the ground upon hearing this, its large, furry body wriggling shyly.

"Let's go, we'll get you out of here safely."

Xie Mianmian followed with a smile, but after a few steps, she realized that Heihe had not followed.

She looked back in confusion and found that it had not come out, but was still hidden in the dark secret room.

The little hand beckoned, "Come on, we're going out."

Black Crane's voice came from the shadows, "Mianmian, go, I... can't go back..."

"Why do you say that? There are no chains binding you." The child asked, puzzled.

Black Crane's voice was heavy and emotionless, "I'm... so ugly now, and the herd doesn't need a black crane..."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Xie Mianmian reached in and pulled the previously dejected Black Crane into the bright sunlight.

"Look at your colorful black feathers, you're so handsome! Mianmian really likes you because you're so unique!"

There will always be someone in this world who loves you, Heihe thought.

Having received the child's affirmation, it was appeased, and its beautiful, soft wings unconsciously unfurled.

Xie Mianmian wrapped her arms around Heihe's long neck and said as she walked out, "Besides, you didn't become like this by choice. Don't be so timid. Come on, let's go and give that bad woman a good beating."

Black Crane staggered along under her armpits, cawing in agreement with Xie Mianmian's words.

They walked out of the courtyard without seeing anyone, because Lin Ruoxue had already dismissed the palace servants, but they didn't know it.

The group of dogs stealthily made their way out when a sharp voice suddenly came from behind, "Stop! You actually escaped? How is that possible?!"

Xie Mianmian subconsciously turned around and glanced back; it was Lin Ruoxue.

So terrified of this unpredictable, crazy woman, Xie Mianmian forgot her earlier boast of giving her a good beating.

She grabbed the black crane's wings and cried out, then took off running, shouting, "Let's run!"

"Don't run!" Lin Ruoxue lifted her heavy palace dress and chased after Xie Mianmian, panting as she ran and shouting to the servants.

But no matter how hard Lin Ruoxue shouted, it was no use; the palace servants had long since been sent far away by her.

Xie Mianmian ran around in a panic, eventually arriving at a dead end. There was no way forward, but instead, a lotus pond.

She hugged the black crane tightly, her chest heaving violently, and she was covered in sweat.

Lin Ruoxue rolled up her sleeves, panting, "You brat, you have nowhere to run now, don't waste time, come back with me quickly."

After saying that, she tried to grab Xie Mianmian.

At this moment, two tall, strong, black-haired Tibetan mastiffs stood in front of Xie Mianmian, like two huge artificial rock mountains in a garden, unmoving.

Seeing this, Lin Ruoxue became furious and stuck out her index finger to poke at them while cursing.

"Do you want to rebel? You two beasts who betrayed your master! We've fed and housed you so well, but you're just beasts. Look how you repay your master!"

The two Tibetan mastiffs lowered their heads, letting Lin Ruoxue scold them mercilessly. Their eyes darted around nervously, and they obediently admitted their mistakes and accepted the punishment, but they didn't move, firmly protecting the child behind them.

Xie Mianmian poked her little face out from between the two furry heads, "Stop scolding me, stop scolding me! Mianmian thinks they're on the side of reason, not family. You bad person, when Mianmian gets back, I'm going to tell everyone about you!"

"Oh, right, so you can't go back."

Lin Ruoxue slowly approached her. "Have you forgotten, Xie Mianmian? You drank my poison, so you won't live much longer either." She sneered.

Unable to bite their female owner, the two Tibetan mastiffs could only lead Xie Mianmian back step by step until they reached the edge of the lotus pond.

Xie Mianmian glanced back. The lotus flowers in the pond swayed in the wind, like beautiful girls dancing among the green lotus leaves, and the water surface rippled with light.

It may be beautiful, but the child doesn't know how icy and chilling the water at the bottom of the pool is.

It suffocates and leaves one in despair.

Xie Mianmian shivered, hugging herself tightly. She said, "Even if Mianmian jumps down and dies... Waaah..."

The child sobbed for a moment, then said, "It won't... be cheap... for you, you bad woman, waaaaah..."

Xie Mianmian cried, her face streaked with tears.

Upon hearing the child's cries, the two Tibetan mastiffs immediately turned ferocious, baring their teeth at their female owner and letting out a low, warning growl.

Lin Ruoxue took a step back in fright. Seeing that the two Tibetan mastiffs were intelligent, she bluffed and said, "Think about how good we, their masters, have been to you. What, are you trying to kill your master?"

The black crane spread its wings and stood in front of Xie Mianmian, its beady eyes staring resentfully at Lin Ruoxue, the person who had ruined its life.

It could only temporarily suppress its desire for revenge against Lin Ruoxue and think about how to get Xie Mianmian out of this predicament. Although it was small, it could carry the child out of here, right...?

Just as the two sides were deadlocked, a voice came from behind Lin Ruoxue, "What are you doing now?"

The Third Prince walked to Lin Ruoxue's side, looking at the child protected behind the Tibetan Mastiff with a headache.

"What's wrong with you now? That's the youngest daughter of the Xie family, Princess Ruihuan. Let her go right now." This crazy woman, don't drag yourself down with her.

Upon seeing him, Xie Mianmian was overjoyed and shouted, "Third Prince, please save Mianmian!"
