Chapter 129 Throwing a Cup as a Signal
The waiter snorted and pressed a mechanism next to the counter, slamming the doors and windows shut.
The doors and windows were made of exceptionally sturdy wooden planks; a single cut would only leave a small, insignificant scar. Sound was also blocked out, and the only sound inside was the crackling of burning candles.
"Where do you think you're going?" Since the waiter had kicked down the dead shopkeeper right in front of them, he had no intention of letting them leave.
He gazed at the two exquisite children in front of him and greedily licked his lips.
Eunuch Li shielded the two children behind him like a mother hen, saying, "We are people of the palace. If you know what's good for you, you'd better let us go right now, or you'll be in big trouble!"
The waiter chuckled slyly, "For noble ladies from the palace, this is a great tonic."
Two guards drew their swords and blocked his way. The waiter took a step back and whistled. The next moment, a group of fierce-looking men filed out from behind the curtain, a dozen or so burly men.
Someone asked, "How did the shopkeeper die?"
"Wouldn't it be better to have more if there's one less person?"
Actually, the waiter had a dispute with the shopkeeper, and in his anger, he took advantage of the shopkeeper's rest time to pierce his heart with a silver needle.
The innkeeper had barely died when Xie Mianmian and her group arrived. The waiter told them to leave, but since someone insisted on coming to their door, they couldn't be blamed.
The waiter observed them closely while they were eating, and he knew that taking them down would be an easy task.
The two guards gripped their swords tightly. Facing a group of vicious thugs armed with weapons, they feared they might not be able to return this time, but they vowed to fight to the death.
Just as the two sides were about to draw their swords and engage in a fierce battle.
Xie Mianmian peeked out from behind Eunuch Li and asked, "What are you doing? Are you really going to eat children?"
The waiter laughed heartily, raising his arm to show off his bulging muscles, "Thanks to the benefactor's secret recipe, we were able to transform from bean sprouts into the formidable figures we are today."
He glanced disdainfully at the trembling, thin, dark-skinned customer. "The ingredients for that medicine are pretty kids like you. So many gentlemen in the city are scrambling to buy it, but they can't get their hands on it. Look, there's someone here who even brings the raw materials to our door."
The waiter picked up the thin, dark-skinned bean sprout like a chick, and, just like the people who had bullied him back then, roughly handled the person in his hands.
He laughed maniacally, whether mocking the child who was bullied by villains back then or enjoying the power that gave him the freedom to do whatever he wanted.
The waiter tossed the man lightly to the ground, like casually tossing a crumpled piece of paper. “You’ve come at the perfect time. With such delicate skin, the medicine must be very effective.”
The group of burly men all grinned maliciously.
Eunuch Li was so frightened that his legs trembled, and he swallowed hard. These people's fists were as big as casseroles. He wondered if this old servant could withstand a punch.
Xie Mianmian spoke up again, "Who is that important person?"
This sounds so sinister, just like the pills made by that evil monk. She clenched her fists. So many people have taken that medicine, how many children have been harmed?
She shook her head desperately, not daring to think any further. The Seventh Prince held her tightly, silently giving her strength.
The waiter didn't give a direct answer, but said, "You can't beat me. Put down your weapons and call me 'Grandpa' a few times, and maybe I can make your death less painful."
As if he had just thought of something, he spread his legs wide and said, "You can crawl through my crotch, and I won't kill you if you do."
Instead, they'd keep them to play with for a few days before killing them.
One of the guards hesitated. As long as he didn't die, as long as he had a breath left, and as long as he could find a way to save his master, he would never give up until the very last moment.
Another guard, his eyes bloodshot, gritted his teeth and said, "A scholar can be killed but not humiliated!"
Just then, Xie Mianmian shouted, "Clang! A cup has broken!"
? ? ?
Not only was the burly man opposite them completely bewildered, but Eunuch Li and the others were also baffled. What kind of new kind of stalling-for-time nonsense was this?
"Never mind all that, just do it, but be careful not to hurt those two brats."
The scene began to become chaotic, and Eunuch Li shielded the two children and hid in a corner.
The Seventh Prince gripped Xie Mianmian's hand tightly and asked, "Did you just use that power again?"
No, you'll die.
Noticing that the Seventh Prince's hand was trembling, Xie Mianmian took his hand in return and comforted him, "Mianmian listened to you and did not use its power. Young Master Zhou, rest assured, it belongs to Mianmian's forces."
The Pink and Black Army!
Such a prestigious name was the result of the joint efforts of a human, a python, and a wolf. For some reason, Xie Mianmian's toes began to dig into the ground, her face flushed with embarrassment, and she dared not tell the Seventh Prince about this name.
They also agreed that if Mianmian encountered danger indoors, she would throw a cup as a signal, and the two of them would rush out to rescue her.
The situation was critical just now, and Xie Mianmian didn't have a cup in her hand, so she had to verbally smash the cup in the hopes that they would understand.
The three of them watched the battlefield with tension.
A hand holding a sharp cleaver was about to strike the guard, but stopped just before the cleaver touched the guard's neck. No matter how hard the waiter tried, the cleaver wouldn't budge.
How could this be? His body is covered in strong muscles; who could possibly hold him back?
The waiter looked strangely at his arm and saw only a pink rope holding him firmly.
He was horrified. When did a peerless master appear in the shop?!
The waiter turned around and saw a terrifying, gaping maw crashing down on him.
"Ah!" A shrill scream rang out. Before the giant python could even do anything to him, the waiter had already fainted from fright.
Even if one is physically strong, one's heart is still very weak. When suddenly seeing a behemoth several times stronger than oneself, one is so frightened that one freezes and falls to the ground like a little chick. One is all show and no substance.
Upon seeing two enormous beasts emerge from the shop, the burly men felt their blood boil as if suppressed by a savage force, and they involuntarily felt fear.
Someone shouted and charged forward, and the burly men snapped out of their daze, fiercely beckoning to the giant beast that had suddenly appeared in the shop.
The black wolf nimbly leaped amidst the swords and blades, its sharp claws slashing at the thieves.
Out of the corner of its eye, it suddenly saw a flash of cold white light. A sword swiftly slashed at the giant python. The python was too long; each end was attacking its own target, so why was the middle being ignored?
An impatience flashed in the black wolf's eyes, and it slapped the sword away with a "smack," having saved the giant python in its haste.
Then they began to fight among the giant python, as if they were protecting this big idiot.
At this moment, a burly man raised his sword high and charged towards the three people in the corner. Black Wolf howled and rushed up, its agile body biting the man's hand in mid-air and killing him.
The giant python, now without its central protection, became the target of everyone's attacks. A number of sharp knives seized the opportunity and slashed at Yu Fen's waist.
Black Wolf's heart leaped into his throat, and he charged at the giant python with all his might. He thought that if something happened to the giant python, Mianmian would cry very sadly.
It thought inappropriately, "If the mute is injured, will he cry out?"
