Chapter 134 I am His Highness the Crown Prince
"I'm so bored, I need to find some fun to do."
The pirate repeated it several times in his monotonous, booming voice, occasionally shaking his head and sighing with a touch of humanity.
Xie Mianmian stared without blinking, "And then, what else did that person say?"
The pirate flapped his wings and pounced on her. "Mianmian, I'm hungry. May your happiness be as boundless as the Eastern Sea."
Is that all? Xie Mianmian grabbed the parrot and shook it back and forth with both hands, so anxious that she wanted to pry open its beak and reach inside to get information.
"Don't say 'May you live as long as the Southern Mountains' next sentence. Quickly think of what other important things that person said!"
The pirate, utterly dejected, was held in the child's hand. Through the swaying light, he murmured, "Wishing you wealth and prosperity..."
"Xie Mianmian!" A stern shout came from not far away.
Xie Mingyi walked over and rescued the parrot, which was about to roll its eyes back, from the child's hands. "How could you bully Grandpa Gao's parrot? Playing around is fine, but you can't be so reckless."
Xie Mianmian opened her mouth, but her second sister scolded her fiercely. "Mianmian didn't mean it, it won't happen again."
She was just a little anxious to know the truth. Although the pirates could speak, they were too stupid. With so little information, they could only squeeze it out bit by bit.
Xie Mingyi stroked the child's slightly flushed face, "It's okay, I know, Mianmian must have had a reason, right?"
Xie Mianmian pouted and nodded.
"But we can't hurt innocent people either; a parrot's life matters too."
Seeing the child's adorable expression of knowing she had done wrong, Xie Mingyi sighed inwardly, picked her up, and walked towards the bathroom.
Xie Mianmian sat in the bathtub, her hands folded on the edge of the tub, her round chin resting on it, letting the nanny scrub her back with a cotton cloth.
She was thinking about the words and actions the parrot had just imitated, and how it referred to itself as "lonely".
"Lonely?" The name sounded familiar. Xie Mianmian didn't know who would call themselves "lonely," but she seemed to have heard it somewhere before, though it shouldn't be common.
"Miss, it's time to flip it over."
Little Nuomici turned around, and the nanny picked up her arm and rubbed it, especially the crevices on the inside of her elbow. With a gentle wipe, tiny specks of dust appeared.
The nanny diligently washed her young mistress, striving to make Xie Mianmian clean, fragrant, and soft.
Such a lovely child, I really don't know how that wicked old woman could have the heart to kill her.
The old woman sighed and shook her head.
Suddenly, a child's innocent voice reached her ears, "Granny, who in the capital would call themselves 'I'?"
"Oh dear, my young mistress!" The nanny exclaimed in surprise, covering Xie Mianmian's mouth. "You can't ask such questions so casually. Be careful not to offend someone important."
Xie Mianmian blinked her big, watery eyes to indicate that she understood.
The old woman released her and whispered, "The only person who can refer to himself in this way is His Highness the Crown Prince."
Her little hand unconsciously slammed into the bathtub, and the huge splash of water accidentally flew into Xie Mianmian's surprised mouth.
"Cough cough cough!" The child coughed so hard that the world seemed to end, and the nanny patted her back anxiously.
She coughed violently, vomiting up her bathwater. Although she had already drunk quite a bit, she was surprised and thought, "It's actually His Highness the Crown Prince?!"
How could that be? Although they had only met a few times, Xie Mianmian could tell that His Highness the Crown Prince was a kind and polite person. How could he do such a ruthless thing?
Moreover, the Xie family had no grudge against him, so why...?
Xie Mianmian gripped the edge of the wooden bucket tightly, her small fingernails turning white from the force, her face showing an expression of utter despair.
The next moment, her hand was grasped, and a cotton cloth was gently wiped on her palm. The old woman raised her elbow and awkwardly touched her wet cheek.
"Is Miss alright?"
not good.
After washing up, Xie Mianmian was packed into bed. She lay on the bed, rolled around in the soft mattress, and turned over and over like a fried egg, quickly frying herself until both sides were golden brown.
Xie Mianmian felt her eyelids getting heavier and heavier. Oh no, someone had drugged her in bed. Otherwise, why would she fall asleep as soon as she touched the bed?
Suddenly, she felt a sense of weightlessness. She felt as if she was falling continuously, sinking into the deep blue sea, surrounded by bubbles, swaying seaweed, and schools of fish.
My consciousness began to blur, my mind began to swirl, Third Brother… gurgling… His Highness the Crown Prince… bad guy…
A rustling sound reached her ears, and Xie Mianmian opened her eyes to the faint light of dawn.
She struggled to get up, rubbed her eyes, and wondered how it had turned into the next day in the blink of an eye. Who had stolen her time?
Xie Mianmian still hasn't figured out what the pirates said last night. She feels like her brain isn't working properly, and she's feeling a bit itchy.
A hand gripped Xie Mianmian's wrist. "How many times have I told you? Don't rub your eyes, you'll hurt them."
Xie Mingyi lifted the child out of the bed and handed him to the nanny.
The damp cotton cloth wiped away the sticky stuff from Xie Mianmian's eyes, and she immediately felt refreshed, her eyes were usable again.
By the way, it doesn't matter if you can't figure it out yourself, there's still one more person. In Xie Mianmian's eyes, there's no problem that the Seventh Prince can't solve.
Moreover, the Seventh Prince was raised under the Empress's care and was the Crown Prince's half-brother.
The carriage took Xie Mianmian into the palace. She arrived very early today. As soon as she stepped into the Wenhua Hall, she found it extremely quiet, with only a few people inside.
There was already someone sitting in that spot, quietly flipping through the books on the desk.
"Mianmian, is that you? Come here." The man beckoned to her.
Xie Mianmian pursed her lips and walked hesitantly to the person. "Greetings, Your Highness the Crown Prince." She bowed.
"Hehe, don't be afraid. I just came to check on how your younger siblings are doing at school. I heard you are the youngest child in the palace. Are you settling in well? Is anyone bullying you?"
Xie Mianmian nodded, her throat tightened, but she still managed to squeeze out a few words, "Everyone is very kind to Mianmian."
"That's good then." The Crown Prince smiled slightly. "Yesterday you and Xiao Qi went to release river lanterns together, and he came back with that same stern face. I wonder, did you two have a good time?"
Xie Mianmian was unaware that she hadn't managed her expression well; she had a sullen face, looking both cute and fierce, which the Crown Prince watched with great interest.
"Happy, ha...ha..."
The child laughed awkwardly, his mind already in turmoil, frantically calling out for the Seventh Prince. Why wasn't he here yet? His Highness the Crown Prince couldn't just kill himself on the spot, could he?
That pampered hand reached out to Xie Mianmian and, before she could dodge, quickly placed it on her shoulder.
