Chapter 168 Split into Two Groups

Chapter 168 Splitting the Army into Two Groups

The Seventh Prince looked down into those hazy, shimmering eyes. She stared at him stubbornly, like a tenacious cat that wouldn't give up until it got an answer.

He sighed inwardly, taking advantage of the fact that the person was drunk and wouldn't remember what happened when they woke up. For the first time, he spoke the words he had kept deep in his heart, his tone solemn and precious.

"I only want to marry you."

These few words, though brief, resonate deeply; they represent a lifelong promise made by someone.

Two pairs of eyes met, one looking confused, the other serious.

The Seventh Prince stared directly at Xie Mianmian with a do-or-die attitude, knowing full well that she was drunk, but still hoping to hear her answer.

Xie Mianmian closed her eyes and collapsed onto the table with a "thud," completely unaware of what was happening.

Is he... asleep?

The Seventh Prince didn't know whether to be disappointed, relieved, or both.

He gently picked Xie Mianmian up and carried her back to her tent, making sure to inform the three roasted chickens as they passed by.

“Mianmian is drunk. I will take her home. You can have the roast chicken.”

Upon hearing this, the snow wolf, which had been drooling with anticipation, howled and opened its mouth to bite, but was swatted away by the tip of its tail.

Snow Wolf, aren't I your good son anymore?

DouDou looked at MianMian with reluctant eyes. This was the first chicken it had ever roasted. What if MianMian wanted to eat it when she woke up?

No matter how much they fought, the Seventh Prince carried Xie Mianmian away from the banquet.

He returned to his tent and gently placed Xie Mianmian on the bed. Just as he was about to get up, he felt a sudden tightness in his chest.

Her arms were still tightly wrapped around the seventh prince's neck.

He patted Xie Mianmian's arm with amusement, wondering how all the brute strength he had possessed since childhood was being used on him.

Xie Mianmian not only didn't let go, but also clung to the Seventh Prince like a dodder vine, and with a forceful movement, she pinned him down beneath her.

She straddled the man's waist and abdomen, wrapped her arms around his neck, and pressed her face tightly against the Seventh Prince's chest, rubbing against him unconsciously, like a raccoon marking its possession with its face.

The seventh prince was forced to lie on the bed, his head tilted back, and his hands raised high.

Through their clothes, their skin touched. Realizing this, he felt the place where he touched Xie Mianmian was burning hot, as if it were on fire.

My mind went blank, and I felt like everything was about to fall apart.

He bit his tongue to calm himself down, trying to tear Xie Mianmian off.

Unexpectedly, they became like magnets, inseparable from each other.

Xie Mianmian hugged him tightly, and the Seventh Prince could feel her complete trust in him, and... dependence.

His breathing became rapid, and his muscular arms stiffly reached for her lower back.

He felt the same way; a sense of security quickly spread and filled his heart.

The seventh prince closed his eyes and tried to slow his breathing.

The war-torn North was briefly plunged into a peaceful night, where a young couple embraced quietly, drawing energy from each other.

I slept without a dream, and the next day, at dawn...

The sound of the tent flap being scratched came from outside. Xie Mianmian opened her eyes groggily and looked around. Apart from herself, there was no one else.

She felt weak all over and dragged her limp steps to the door. She saw a wolf, a scout sent to track down the mysterious footprints.

The wolf was gesturing wildly.

Xie Mianmian leaned down: "Tell me slowly, what exactly did you discover?"

Looking into Xie Mianmian's calm yet powerful eyes, the wolf howled as it announced its discovery.

The more she listened, the more her brows furrowed. "You must be exhausted from traveling all night. Go back and rest."

The wolf took a few deep breaths and obediently left.

Xie Mianmian ran a few steps outside, intending to discuss this matter with the deputy general and the others, but then she stopped.

The morning breeze was cool, blowing against her thin clothes. Xie Mianmian looked down and realized that she was only wearing her undergarments.

She screamed and ran back to the tent. Luckily, it was still early and no one was passing by, otherwise she would have been terribly embarrassed.

Xie Mianmian tried hard to recall what happened last night. It seemed that the Seventh Prince had brought her back. She pulled open the collar of her inner garment and looked inside, her face immediately turning bright red.

Biting her lower lip, Xie Mianmian picked up her coat from the hanger and put it on, muttering "bastard, ugly egg, big bad egg" to herself as she did so.

After getting dressed and quickly washing up, she ran towards the main tent. It was still dark, but almost everyone inside was already there, except for herself.

Xie Mianmian walked quickly to the Sixth Princess's side, not even glancing at the Seventh Prince, leaving him completely bewildered.

The sixth princess handed her a cup of tea. "You were drunk yesterday. Does your head still hurt?"

Xie Mianmian took it and said, "It's nothing serious, my scout beast has returned."

The strategist asked anxiously, "What's the situation over there?"

“It was indeed a beast army heading towards Yuan City. The scouts dared not get too close and could not determine their numbers. The beast army crossed that mountain and temporarily stopped at its foot to rest. I don’t know why they didn’t attack, but their target was definitely Yuan City,” Xie Mianmian said solemnly.

The lieutenant stood up: "Then we must send troops to Yuancheng immediately and not let them succeed."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

The Seventh Prince looked at Xie Mianmian, his lips moved as if he had something to say to her.

Xie Mianmian lowered her head and went to drink her tea, not wanting to pay him any attention.

At that moment, a hurried sound came from outside the tent, growing louder as it approached. The curtain was hastily opened, and a soldier ran in, kneeling on one knee.

"Urgent report! The entire Northern Rong army is heading to Chai City and will arrive in less than half a day!"

The strategist slammed his hand on the armrest of his chair and jumped up: "It must be a ploy to lure the enemy away from their stronghold. The Northern Rong want our army to go to Chai City to fight, and then the beast army will attack Yuan City, leaving us unable to reach them."

The lieutenant said, "Fortunately, we had the princess's scout skill, otherwise we would have fallen into the Northern Rong's trap."

"Then let's split our forces into two groups," said the Seventh Prince.

Xie Mianmian eagerly replied, "Then I'll take care of leading the giant pythons to Yuan City."

The Seventh Prince glanced at her sharply, then could only concede, "I will go to Yuancheng with Mianmian."

He said he would do everything he could to protect Mianmian.

The Sixth Princess crossed her arms and said, "Very well, then I will go to Chai City."

Ignoring everyone's objections, she said decisively, "Time is running out, let's get ready and set off immediately."

The deputy general selected more than 150 strong men to join the Mian army, pairing one man with one beast. After yesterday's ice-breaking, the two sides were able to get along harmoniously and even had some tacit understanding.

Xie Mianmian divided the Mian Army into two groups, one of which was led by Tiger and went to Chaicheng.

She touched the "king" character on the tiger's head and said, "The rest of the way is up to you. Be careful and protect Her Highness the princess."

"With me here, you can rest assured." The Sixth Princess patted its head. "The military books I've read and the martial arts I've practiced over the years are no joke. But you, you must stay hidden behind the Seventh Prince, understand?"

Xie Mianmian nodded in agreement, feeling both angry and ashamed as she thought about what happened last night.

"Oh, right." The Sixth Princess seemed to remember something. "Last night you slept like a little pig, and I was the one who bathed you and changed your clothes. Don't thank the wrong person."
