Chapter 47 Dream of the Butterfly
The seventh prince looked at the child with amusement, shook his head, and then tilted his head back to drink a cup of tea.
He was still savoring the dance he had just witnessed. Bai Yun's emotions were complex, and he didn't understand them, but he was deeply moved.
The Seventh Prince felt that Bai Yun's dance was even better than any dance he had ever seen in the palace.
After some time, the performance downstairs changed, and a new group of people were performing a glamorous Persian dance.
No wonder the waiter in the building had such a strange expression when he saw that the child had come along.
He looked at Xie Mianmian and saw the child sitting on the chair, looking uneasy.
Is Xie Mianmian shy?
"Xie Mianmian, what's wrong?" the Seventh Prince asked.
The child actually really enjoys watching the Persian dances below. She likes to watch any dance performed by soft and sweet older sisters.
They dance openly and honestly, and the children watch them with complete openness.
However, after drinking too much juice, Xie Mianmian needed to urinate, but she was too embarrassed to ask Eunuch Li to take her.
Xie Mianmian, her face flushed, whispered in the Seventh Prince's ear.
It was only visible to the naked eye that the Seventh Prince's ears were getting redder and redder.
She, a young girl, how could she be so shameless as to say such things in front of a stranger?
Unfortunately, the Seventh Prince was aware of the strict separation between men and women, but Xie Mianmian was not, and her child was still young.
"Let's go, I'll take you there." The Seventh Prince stood up stiffly, took the child and walked towards the door, with Eunuch Li following behind.
When they arrived at the designated women's restroom, the Seventh Prince awkwardly said to the child, "Go quickly, I'll wait for you here."
Xie Mianmian nodded and hurriedly ran into the toilet.
Inside were women and young women of all kinds. Suddenly, a little child came in, and they all looked at her with strange eyes.
But Xie Mianmian didn't care about that anymore. She approached a chamber pot, but it wasn't tall enough, so she had to rummage around and find a small stool.
With her feet on the small stool, Xie Mianmian could finally relax.
After finishing, the child happily washed his hands, humming a little tuneāthe very music Bai Yun had used for her dance.
Looking up and around, she found that the restroom, which had just been crowded with women, was now completely empty, with only Xie Mianmian remaining.
The ethereal child's voice echoed in the room. Xie Mianmian couldn't help but shut her mouth, wiped her hands haphazardly, and prepared to leave.
However, the toilet was a maze, with many twists and turns and decorative gauze hanging around it.
Xie Mianmian wandered aimlessly, knowing there was only one exit and she would eventually get out no matter which way she went.
She parted a light veil and finally emerged.
The child took a deep breath of fresh air. No, she did come out, but why was she in the backyard?
Xie Mianmian looked at the pavilion, the flowing water, and the strange flowers and plants in front of her, scratching her head in confusion.
The child was about to go back and was planning to find another exit.
Suddenly, a loud crash came from a nearby room, like something falling to the ground and breaking.
All around was quiet, but Xie Mianmian could hear clearly. Was someone in need of help? she wondered.
The child walked to the door of the side room and whispered, "Is anyone home?"
No one answered. Okay, no one was there. Xie Mianmian was about to leave.
Suddenly, a rustling sound came from inside the room.
The child mustered up his courage and pushed the door open a crack; it wasn't locked.
She peeked through the crack in the door.
There was a person lying on the ground, his face obscured, but he appeared to be a man, tearing at his clothes.
He kept shouting, and Xie Mianmian pressed her ear to the door to listen. He was saying, "Hot, so hot."
This person is sick; a doctor needs to come and take a look, she thought.
The person inside suddenly burst into laughter, "Top scholar! I've become the top scholar! Hahaha!"
The child was startled, and then she looked at the man.
He staggered to his feet, scratched his neck uncomfortably, then took off his outer garment, leaving only his inner garment, and, still not feeling cool enough, ripped open the collar.
He was still babbling incoherently, "I want to ride a tall horse! Giddy up! The top scholar has arrived, all bystanders get out of the way!"
The man staggered away again, and the child couldn't see where he was.
Suddenly, a pale face appeared in front of Xie Mianmian. "What are you looking at?"
The child was so frightened that he cried out "Ah!" and took several steps back, looking timidly at the madman in front of him.
The man suddenly reached for his body, "Where's my elixir? The elixir is gone!"
He glared fiercely at the child, his voice strangely excited, "Did you steal my magic medicine?!"
Xie Mianmian said blankly, "No, I didn't."
But then the man burst into laughter, tilting his head back, his hands supporting his head, looking completely absorbed and dazed.
The child quickly ran back home.
Upon hearing the voice, he turned sharply to Xie Mianmian and exclaimed excitedly, "Divine Deer, Divine Deer, don't run away! If I eat you, I can live forever, hahaha!"
As he spoke, his eyes turned bloodshot, and with long strides, he stretched out his ferocious hand and lunged at Xie Mianmian.
Although the child had already run some distance, the man, having taken the Five-Stone Powder, was extremely excited and ran much faster than usual, soon catching up with Xie Mianmian.
The child bent down to dodge, and the man missed his target.
"Huff huff~" Xie Mianmian ran into the women's restroom, panting, and the man followed her in.
"Ah!" the woman inside cried out in panic.
But no one stopped the man. Xie Mianmian ran left and right, hiding and dodging, but the man always managed to spot her and then chuckled wickedly as he ran towards her.
Xie Mianmian pouted, terrified, and forced herself not to cry.
Finally, she found the way she came. As long as she ran out, she would see the Seventh Prince and Eunuch Li guarding outside, and she would be able to catch the strange man.
Full of hope, Xie Mianmian rushed outside; she had finally found the right exit.
However, the place where the Seventh Prince and his group had been standing was now empty.
Hearing the voice of the person chasing behind him, "Don't run! I want immortality!"
The child had no choice but to keep running, dragging his aching legs.
It turned out that the Seventh Prince had noticed that the child hadn't come out for a long time, so he waited and waited, and then asked a passing maid to help him go in and check.
But the maid said there was no one inside, but there was another exit leading to the backyard. The Seventh Prince pulled Eunuch Li along to search for it.
As a result, they missed out.
Xie Mianmian gritted her teeth and rushed into the crowd in the lobby, hoping they would help stop the man.
The child ran and ran, the tiny figure slipping through the skirt, eliciting gasps of surprise.
However, the strange man also arrived. As soon as he came, the crowd parted like a receding tide, clearing a path.
Thus, the child was like a holy light chasing after a freak, completely visible.
Xie Mianmian blinked her big, moist eyes and looked at the person she met for help.
But none of them paid any attention; they continued to embrace the beauties in their arms, drink fine wine, and laugh heartily.
Even just standing by and watching.
On the one hand, indulging in sensual pleasures has already attracted a great deal of attention from people in the midst of the turmoil. On the other hand, in the restless night, people are no longer surprised to see a drunkard running around and acting crazy.
As for the child that seems to be in front?
How could that be? You must be seeing things.
What if it's true? Who cares? People living in a drunken stupor only care about how strong the wine is.
