Chapter 60 Someone is also feeling a little jealous.

Chapter 60 Someone is also feeling a little jealous.

But it turned out to be completely empty!

The huge sum of money inside had vanished.

The Third Prince immediately glared viciously at the man in black, who trembled and knelt on the ground, pleading, "Your Highness, please spare my life! It really was snatched away by a monkey and thrown into the water!"

The other person also knelt down with a thud, recounting the events in a trembling voice.

The third prince waved his hand unhappily, signaling them to hurry up and go find it.

But to no avail; the money was gone, and the monkey seemed to have vanished as well.

Could this be the legendary water monkey? The man in black stuck his head into the water to take a closer look.

And so, the Third Prince investigated several times. The man did indeed board the ship with silver notes, and the notes were counted by the men in black, but they were snatched away by a monkey and disappeared without a trace.

Xie Mingyi's bright face flashed before his eyes again. He gritted his teeth and almost smashed the railing with his hands.

With his eyes closed and his legs kicking, the Third Prince fell backward. Before losing consciousness, he thought bitterly, "Today I have lost both my money and my life!"

Xie Mingyi heard a cry of alarm from not far away. Looking over, she saw the Third Prince being supported by servants, his head drooping, unconscious.

Xie Mingyi felt uneasy, which was rare for him. Had he hurt his head just now?

Amidst the chaos of war, this exquisitely crafted ship finally returned to its origin and docked.

As dusk approached, flocks of birds glided across the orange-reddish blue sky, heading back to their nests.

Xie Mingyi led the child off the boat and immediately spotted Xie Huaijin leaning against the carriage.

She walked over with a smile, "You rascal, aren't you usually so fond of doing nothing productive? You didn't even come to join in the fun."

Xie Huaijin straightened up, grinning, "I wouldn't dare go. It would make all those young masters from noble families pale in comparison, and I'd be hunted down by the whole city."

Xie Huaijin gripped his sword tightly. Now was the time when General Xiao had the highest hopes for him, and he couldn't stop.

Xie Mianmian said earnestly, "Third Brother is right."

Xie Mingyi smiled helplessly and slapped Xie Huaijin's arm, saying, "You're so glib."

Still on the ship, He Chuan was jostled by the crowd, holding a table in one hand and a package in the other, moving forward slowly.

He Chuan couldn't help but stand on tiptoe and crane his neck to look ahead.

Just one glance, just one last look at Miss Xie, because after today, they probably wouldn't see each other again.

He was pushed forward several steps before finally seeing the woman who pleased him.

She was talking and laughing with a man, and even playfully slapped him.

He Chuan felt as if he had been struck by lightning. He stood there dumbfounded, but was pushed forward by the crowd and kept getting closer and closer to them.

He Chuan could only see the young master's profile, but even so, he could tell that the noble young master had an upright posture and an extraordinary demeanor.

He looked at them bitterly; Miss Xie really should be with such an outstanding person.

How could a poor, pedantic scholar, two years younger than her, possibly reach for the bright moon in the sky?

The boy staggered as he walked, and was shoved by someone. The corner of the table he was holding got stuck in the hole he had pried open earlier, and then he was pushed by another force.

"Tear." It was the sound of old fabric being torn.

He Chuan's blue robe was torn to shreds.

But before he could hide, he was pushed toward them by the crowd, getting closer and closer.

Xie Mingyi saw He Chuan disembarking and waved to him while saying to Xie Huaijin, "I've discovered a talented engineer. Let me introduce him to you. He's young, so with proper training, he has a bright future."

He Chuan wasn't unaware that Xie Mingyi was calling him, but his inferiority complex overcame his reason.

This was the first time the boy, clutching his tattered clothes, had fled in a disheveled state.

"Hey, He Chuan!" Xie Mingyi stood on tiptoe and called his name.

"Stop shouting." Xie Huaijin helped the child into the carriage. "Did they realize you're a fierce tigress and scared them away?"

Xie Mingyi forced a smile, but her hand gripped her brother's arm tightly.

Listening to Xie Huaijin's exaggerated wailing, Xie Mingyi turned to look at the back of the runaway boy and sighed slowly.

Xie Mianmian sat in the carriage, her small hand lifting the curtain to look towards the ship.

The setting sun generously poured its last rays onto the river, rippling the water and shimmering with golden light. The exquisite flower boat rested quietly on the water, bathed in a warm, hazy orange glow.

The child felt a little reluctant and melancholy; she hadn't had enough fun yet, and she had to get up early for school again tomorrow.

She really wanted to stay on the ship forever; the people there were so fun and had such lovely voices.

Xie Mianmian pouted sadly, pulled the curtain closed, and left the flower boat behind.

The quaint and mysterious flower boat continues its journey, during which another story of ups, downs, and twists will unfold.

The carriage clattered along, carrying three people with very different thoughts, heading home.

As soon as Xie Mianmian returned home, she ran into her eldest brother in the courtyard.

The child, carrying a large sum of money, ran over and said, "Big brother, Mianmian has something to tell you."

She suddenly sniffed and looked at the paper package in Xie Linyuan's hand. "This smells so familiar! What's inside?"

Strangely enough, as soon as Xie Mianmian smelled this aroma, her mouth started to water uncontrollably.

Xie Linyuan opened the paper package and held it out to his younger sister, saying, "These are pickled plums that your sister-in-law asked me to buy."

"Ugh! Mianmian doesn't like this. It tastes sour." The child said with a pained expression.

Xie Linyuan put the sour plum away and said quietly, "She said she was going to make you sour plum candy."

Xie Mianmian scratched her head in confusion. "Will this taste good? But kids absolutely love the candy my sister-in-law makes."

Xie Linyuan watched the child struggling between eating and not eating, and gently pinched her chubby cheeks.

He wants to eat it, but his wife might not even make it for him; his younger sister, however, has chosen it.

"She treats you so well." Someone also felt a pang of jealousy.

He really wanted to receive his wife's open and blatant affection.

"Elder brother, I have something to say to you."

Upon hearing this, Xie Linyuan released his grip.

Xie Mianmian handed the brocade pouch in her arms to her elder brother, chattering about what had happened.

Xie Linyuan frowned. He would return all the stolen goods to ordinary families, and as for the money of the wealthy young men, he would donate it all to the orphanage in the city.

"Ma Lou's little hands are incredibly skillful. The Grand Tutor once said that this is called 'stealing the dragon and switching the phoenix,' right?"

Xie Linyuan sighed. "My little sister has finally managed to pronounce a word correctly."

"And there's more!" Xie Mianmian excitedly tugged at her elder brother's sleeve. "Ma Lou's banana line is super curved, that's amazing! Let Mianmian see Big Brother's banana line."

As he spoke, the child was about to get his hands on it.

Xie Linyuan speechlessly extended a finger and pressed it against the child's forehead. Xie Mianmian lunged forward a few times, but couldn't get even half a step closer to him.

The elder brother was helpless against this little charlatan.

Xie Linyuan didn't know whether he should praise the child for being clever after he stole the money the Third Prince had illegally earned.

As expected of a child of the Xie family, they have a strong ability to protect themselves.

“Not bad,” the eldest brother said sparingly.

"Just don't do such dangerous things again."

Xie Linyuan spoke at a rare length to educate the child, but more importantly, he taught her how to protect herself.

Finally, he gently pushed the child and said, "Go back."

But Xie Mianmian was reluctant to let it go, "No, Mianmian wants to hear more."

Xie Linyuan took a deep breath. "Organize today's findings into a journal. I will be checking it tomorrow."

Child:? !

Xie Mianmian went back with a long face, on the verge of tears.

As for Xie Linyuan, he wanted to go back and also check on the banana thread in his wife's hand.
