Chapter 3 Adoption

Chapter 3 Adoption

"What do you mean, 'child'? This is your niece, Little Peach Blossom!" Lin Guangsheng scolded.

"No, brother..."

"Shut up! I'm still the head of this household. If you don't like living here, move back to your own home!" Lin Guangsheng said sternly.

Very well, this threat silenced Lin Guangyi, who was about to say something.

"Sister-in-law, my little Peach Blossom is still missing a few clothes. I saw you made some pretty outfits last time. I'll bring them over later for our little Peach Blossom to wear first. What do you think?" Yin Qing looked at her second sister-in-law, Wang Qiu, with a smile. Everyone understood the meaning behind her words.

Wang Qiu's smile was a little stiff, but she still endured the pain and said, "It's only right. I'm not in a hurry over there. Let's get Xiao Taohua dressed first." As for what Xiao Taohua's name was or where she came from, Wang Qiu didn't care at all. All she knew was that she absolutely couldn't offend this little girl. Judging from her older brother and sister-in-law's expressions, they definitely cared about her.

"Then thank you, Second Sister-in-law," Yin Qing said politely.

"It's alright, it's nothing, I'll go back to my room and get it for you right away." With that, she pulled Lin Guangyi out as well.

Back in his room, Wang Qiu couldn't help but whisper, "That girl..."

Before he could finish speaking, Lin Guangyi impatiently interrupted him: "What nonsense are you spouting? Hurry up and find some clothes!"

His carefully planned adoption is ruined!

"Why are you taking it out on me? It's all because of my brother and sister-in-law!"

"Shut up, or pack your things and go back to your parents' house!"

"Okay, okay, I'll shut up, I'll shut up, alright?" Wang Qiu said while her hands kept moving, taking out the clothes she had made a few days ago: "These are all new clothes. I was planning to take them back to my parents' home to save for my nieces for the New Year, and also for our Lily."

Lin Guangyi glared at her.

Alright, Wang Qiu stopped grumbling.

After taking the clothes, she put on a warm smile as she was about to leave: "Sister-in-law, do you think these are enough? If not, I'll make a few more."

Yin Qing picked up the clothes and examined them. To be honest, the clothes were densely hand-stitched, sturdy and beautiful. "Then I'll trouble you, Second Sister-in-law, to make some more. I'll give you the cloth coupons later. You can keep the rest for yourself."

"Hey, it's not hard work at all. But if there are any cloth coupons left, I'll keep them for myself without hesitation."

Yin Qing smiled but didn't say anything.

After spending these past few years together, everyone knows each other's personalities; everyone knows each other well.

When it comes to superficial appearances, no one in Linjia Village does it as well as the Lin family.

If you don't believe me, go ask around. Everyone in the village says that the Lin family is the most harmonious. Whether it's the brothers, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, or even the sisters-in-law and eldest sister-in-law, everyone gives them a thumbs up. They are a happy and perfect family.

As for any hidden complexities, well, sorry, nobody figured it out.

When it comes to acting, none of them in this family are lacking.

Of course, this is all thanks to Lin Guangsheng, the boss.

Lin Guangsheng was the eldest son in the Lin family. His parents were both alive, and he had two younger brothers and a younger sister.

Lin Guangsheng married Yin Qing. Both were workers in the town, and even leaders, but they had no children. Their jobs alone determined their absolute status in the family!

The second son, Lin Guangyi, is the production team secretary of Xiaolin Village. The third son, Lin Guangxing, just moved to the town this year; both he and his wife work. The youngest sister, Lin Guangping, married and moved to the town. Lin Guangping is currently in her postpartum period; they stayed out a little late last night to visit her.

To put it bluntly, this family all owes their good fortune to the eldest son, Lin Guangsheng; otherwise, they wouldn't all be living such comfortable lives. When it comes to their own interests, everyone is rational and naturally wouldn't want to have a falling out with the eldest son and his wife.

After all, they still depend on their boss for a living; that was true in the past, it is true now, and it will be true in the future.

Don't underestimate a brigade secretary or an employee; they're no match for the boss and his wife!

As for why there are no elderly people in the house now, it's because the elderly have all gone to town with their youngest son, and the remaining children are staying at their uncle's house in town these days.

The large brick house that Lin Guangsheng lives in now was built by him when he got married. It was quite big with many rooms. Later, the couple did not have any children and both worked in the town. The old couple could not bear to see their children suffer, so they cried and brought their remaining children in.

Fortunately, everyone was sensible and didn't cause any trouble. They all had their own sense of right and wrong. It's just that in recent years, the second son had been thinking about giving his child to Lin Guangsheng for adoption, which Lin Guangsheng and his wife didn't like. But the second son didn't go too far, and so they just got by year after year.

As for the old couple, sorry, even if they sometimes don't understand things, Lin Guangsheng isn't the kind of person who blindly obeys his parents. The old couple can't do anything about their eldest son, and they're also concerned about their reputation, so of course they won't cause any more trouble.

Every family has its own troubles, and every family has its own trivial matters. The Lin family's situation, while not the best, is far better than other families.

Having received the cloth ration coupons from her sister-in-law, Wang Qiu smiled broadly, and looked at Xiao Taohua with an even greater smile: "Xiao Taohua, I am your second aunt."

"Hello, Second Aunt." Little Peach Blossom greeted politely.

"Hello, my second aunt has an older sister. She can take you to play in a couple of days."

"Okay, Second Aunt." Little Peach Blossom nodded obediently.

"Sister-in-law, your daughter is so obedient."

"Of course, this is my daughter." Yin Qing nodded matter-of-factly.

"Yes, sister-in-law is so lucky to have such a wonderful daughter."

Yin Qing raised an eyebrow.

"Hey, sister-in-law, there's something I'd like to discuss with you."

"Go ahead and say it." Yin Qing looked at her and knew that she must have caused some trouble, otherwise she wouldn't be so obsequious.

"Well, I went to my parents' house the other day, and you know, sister-in-law, you don't know, there's a family on my parents' side who's really awful. Their biological mother died and their father remarried, and that son is so pitiful, he's tortured by his stepmother every day to the point of not being able to live. Now that stepmother is pregnant with a son, and I told my family before..." Wang Qiu glanced at Yin Qing and smiled ingratiatingly, "I told my family that you wanted to adopt a son, and we talked to them about keeping the child. Now, sister-in-law, what do you think?"

Yin Qing said expressionlessly, "What does it have to do with me?"

Wang Qiu became anxious: "How can this be unrelated? Sister-in-law, you must adopt him..."

"Stop! Did I say I wanted to adopt someone else's child? I didn't say that. I told you all from the beginning that my husband and I wouldn't adopt anyone. Whoever caused this mess should deal with it themselves. Don't try to pin the blame on us. Alright, our little peach blossom is tired, and we're not going to listen to your nagging anymore."

Yin Qing left decisively, leaving Wang Qiu alone in the main room, dumbfounded.
