An Dashan was walking when he suddenly shivered. He looked at the big sun in the sky with some doubt. It wasn't cold yet. Could he have caught a cold? It seemed that he needed to drink a bowl of ginger soup to get rid of the cold. When they returned, they didn't need to look for Ganoderma lucidum, so they were much faster than when they came. They arrived home just after the sun set.
When they got home, Gao had been waiting anxiously for a long time. Seeing the father and daughter coming back, she hurried over to greet them and said, "Why did you two come back so late today? Did you sneak into the mountains?"
An Ning looked at Gao, who looked unhappy, and said, "Mom, you can't blame Dad. Dad took me into the mountains because he thought that if we could collect Ganoderma lucidum, our family would have a better life."
An Dashan couldn't believe his ears. What did he hear just now? He must be too tired and hallucinating. When Gao heard An Ning's words, she picked up the broom and hit An Dashan. Poor An Dashan still didn't realize that he was betrayed by his daughter.
An Ning was amused to see An Dashan dodging nimbly while carrying the goat. But she couldn't just watch the fun, so she quickly advised, "Mom, stop fighting first, and see what good stuff we have brought back."
Gao was tired of beating the goat, so she threw away the broom and threatened An Dashan, saying, "Wait for me to deal with you in the evening." Then she followed An Ning back to the main hall. An Dashan had no choice but to deal with the two of them, who were people he couldn't afford to offend. He sighed and resigned himself to deal with the goat. His daughter had said that she wanted to eat something called shabu-shabu in the evening.
Before Gao entered the room, An Ning moved the stones and Ganoderma lucidum out of the space. Just as they were moved out, Gao came in. Gao looked at the smiling An Ning and said, "Don't smile at me here. You will need advice when we go into the mountains."
After hearing this, An Ning quickly hugged Gao's arm and acted like a spoiled child, saying, "Mom, I was wrong. I won't do it again next time. Please forgive me this time!"
Gao hugged An Ning and said, "Do you know how worried I was the last time you rolled down the hill and fell unconscious? I was afraid you would never wake up, and I wanted to die for you. Can you please not make me worry so much next time?"
An Ning felt the wetness on her shoulder and knew that Gao was crying. She felt guilty. It was her fault for not putting herself in Gao's shoes. After all, Gao did lose her daughter. It seemed that she had to be extra nice to Gao and An Dashan in the future to make up for occupying their daughter's body. Besides, Gao and An Dashan were really very good to her, making her feel at home.
An Ning reached out and hugged Gao, and gently comforted her: "Mom, I promise that I will get your consent next time I go anywhere, please don't be angry, okay?"
Gao calmed down, wiped her tears, and said, "Okay, then I'll believe you this time."
Seeing Gao's mood finally clear up, An Ning took out the Ganoderma lucidum and handed it to Gao like a treasure, saying, "Mom, look, Dad and I picked two Ganoderma lucidum today."
Gao took the Ganoderma lucidum, looked at it carefully, and asked in disbelief: "Daya, pinch me, am I dreaming?"
An Ning smiled and said, "Mom, you are not dreaming, this is real."
