Chapter 128 Brother Feng, Happy New Year!
"The young master is indeed very clever. With just this one move, you, Yaoyao, can't escape!" Matron Hu said happily.
"Squeak, squeak, squeak!" (Mammy, let me out!)
Nanny Hu tucked back the corner of the quilt that was pressed under the small house, and Bai Yaoyao could finally crawl out of the quilt.
As soon as I came out, I saw a small house covering the bed!
This house is just as big as the bed, so there is no need to worry about Bai Yaoyao not being able to roll around in her sleep!
"Squeak?" (Who did this?)
Bai Yaoyao angrily stretched out her little paw, pointed at the house and asked.
"The eldest young master asked the third master to do it because he was worried that you would fall off the bed while sleeping!" Matron Hu replied with a smile.
But what she was thinking in her heart was: Let’s see how the little princess can sneak out again this time!
"Squeak, squeak, squeak!" (Mammy, please open it. I promise not to go out, okay?)
Bai Yaoyao looked at Madam Hu with a pleading look on her face.
Obviously, her promise had lost its credibility in Madam Hu's eyes. Madam Hu shook her head and said, "Today is New Year's Eve. Not to mention it's the most important day of the year for us, there are a lot of people outside. So, we can't let you out no matter what. Otherwise, what if something happens to you?"
"Squeak!" (I promise I'll be good!)
"Sleep sweetly, and when you wake up in the morning, Nanny will accompany you wherever you want to go, okay?" Nanny Hu touched Bai Yaoyao's soft and smooth fox fur and coaxed her gently.
The little princess said she was very unhappy. She sat on the bed, wrapped herself in circles of quilt, hung her head, and didn't want to pay attention to anyone.
Those blue eyes were watery, and the tears seemed to have turned blue, filling the entire pupils, and hanging on the fan-like eyelashes, about to fall away. She just looked at Madam Hu with her little mouth pouted, without saying a word.
After an incense stick of time, Madam Hu looked at the empty little house and finally came to her senses. "Yaoyao, you little rascal, you actually learned how to trick Madam!"
That’s right, Aunt Hu really couldn’t stand her pitiful appearance, so she opened the little house for her, but she jumped out of the window and disappeared!
Bai Yaoyao could no longer hear her voice. The little princess didn't even go through the main gate. Instead, she jumped onto the wall and entered the yard of Grandpa Liu's house next door!
The entire Liu family's house was brightly lit, except for the west wing.
It seemed as if the New Year's joy had forgotten the West Wing, which was still deserted and shrouded in the night. Even the moonlight had quietly moved away.
Bai Yaoyao walked into the yard with ease and jumped onto the window.
The window was lightly covered, but not shut tight.
Bai Yaoyao stretched out her little paw and pushed gently, and it opened.
There was only one candle lit in the room. The flickering candlelight illuminated Feng Shang's beautiful yet somewhat sickly pale face, making his thin and frail figure look long and slender.
Outside, laughter could be heard from time to time, mixed with the sounds of fireworks and firecrackers, crackling, making the entire New Year's Eve particularly lively and noisy.
But it seemed that this bustle could not reach the west wing.
He sat quietly at the table, his expression gloomy. There was a hint of loneliness and desolation in his handsome eyes that he had never seen before, which was so out of tune with everything outside.
Bai Yaoyao couldn't help but feel distressed. Her brother Feng was so lonely.
"Squeak!" (Brother Feng, Happy New Year!)
The little fox standing on the windowsill narrowed its big, sapphire-like eyes and waved its little paws at Feng Shang.
