Chapter 66 Don’t Fight with Dogs
The automatic jet airship landed steadily at the entrance of the kindergarten.
Lu Ting picked up little Taozhi from the airship, took the little guy's soft little hand in his big hand, and walked in together.
The preschool is privately run, but it is large, has a good environment, and is equipped with all the necessary facilities for children. It is even as luxurious as the kindergarten they visited last time.
Ever since the little guy stepped into the preschool, he has been extremely curious about everything here. His little head keeps turning around like a rattle.
"Daddy, what is that duck?"
Little Taozhi pointed at the swans playing leisurely in the pond not far away, looked up at Lu Ting with his little face, and asked in surprise.
The wind blew the little girl's hat askew. Lu Ting raised his hand and put it on her before saying, "That's not a duck, it's a swan."
"Goose? Hmm..." Little Taozhi gnawed on her little finger, her dark eyes lighting up. "Daddy, let's catch the goose, pluck its feathers, stew it in a pot, add some salt, and then we can eat it!"
Xiao Taozhi started drooling just thinking about it.
Lu Ting saw through Xiao Taozhi's thoughts in a moment and chuckled softly.
Why does this little guy look like he just came back from a famine?
I just had two buns and a cup of soy milk for breakfast on the airship, and now I’m thinking about eating swans!
Lu Ting's distinct joints bent slightly, and he tapped the little guy's head lightly, "Want to eat salted goose?"
"Yeah!" Xiao Taozhi nodded vigorously.
"If you want to eat it, buy it when you get home today."
There is really no need to catch a swan in broad daylight just to make salted goose.
Lu Ting took Xiao Taozhi's hand and was about to leave, but the little fellow's big eyes were still fixed on the two swans, reluctant to leave. "Daddy, those geese are so fat and big, they can feed us for several meals!"
"Even if you can eat it for a lifetime, you can't catch it back." Lu Ting held Tao Zhi's little head and turned it over with a little force.
The little guy lowered his head in disappointment and uttered "Oh" softly.
Lu Ting walked Xiao Taozhi to the door of her classroom. He squatted down and carefully helped her put the yellow duck backpack on her back.
Suddenly thinking of something, Lu Ting took out a small bracelet from his pocket and put it on Xiao Taozhi's delicate wrist.
Tao Zhi stared at the blue bracelet, her big eyes full of curiosity. She asked in a milky voice, "Daddy, what is this?"
"Photomagnetic ring."
Since some babies are not suitable for implanting optomagnetic chips in their bodies when they are just born, or their bodies have a strong rejection of optomagnetic chips, they can only wear this physical bracelet later in life.
The little one wouldn't understand if he explained too much, so after teaching him some simple call functions, Lu Ting simply emphasized, "This is very important. Remember this?"
"Well, Zhizhi remember it!"
Xiao Taozhi quickly protected the small ring on her hand and nodded obediently.
"Okay, go ahead."
Lu Ting stood up and patted Xiao Taozhi's schoolbag.
The little guy grabbed the shoulder strap of his schoolbag and looked up at Lu Ting with his fair little face. His expression was very serious. "Daddy, you have to be a good boy at home. Don't fight with the dog. Zhizhi will be home after school~"
Lu Ting's mouth twitched.
Who the hell would fight a dog? Does Lu Ting look like he has a mental disorder?
Lu Ting complained in his heart, but still said "Oh".
"Daddy, be well. Don't miss Zhizhi too much." Little Taozhi patted the back of Lu Ting's hand gently with her little paws as if to comfort him.
Lu Ting thought:
Who would miss you? Can you please stop being so sentimental, little brat?!
But the reality:
Lu Ting said expressionlessly, "Oh."
He tugged at the little girl's schoolbag strap and carried her two steps forward like a chick, urging her, "Hurry up and get in, or you'll be late."
"Bye-bye, Dad~"
Little Tao Zhichao stopped and waved his little paws, then skipped towards the classroom door on his short legs.
Looking at the little guy's clumsy back, Lu Ting felt a sudden pang of pain in his chest.
That silly little one, barely taller than his knees but wearing a silly little yellow hat, slowly walked out of his protective circle step by step, and grew up alone.
The faint sound of children crying could be heard in the classroom, each one sobbing and calling for their parents. The sound echoed in Lu Ting's ears, and was particularly harsh.
Lu Ting frowned.
Will the little one cry because he can’t bear to leave him?
He clenched his fists, and suddenly an absurd idea came to his mind -
So what if Xiao Taozhi doesn’t go to school?
The money he earned was more than enough for her to live on for the rest of her life, and with his status, who would dare to touch the little one?!
She could stay by his side forever, be a little useless person, and live a carefree life...
"Tao Zhi!"
At the moment when the little guy's feet were about to step into the classroom threshold, Lu Ting hurriedly called out to stop him.
"Yeah?" Xiao Taozhi paused and turned to look at Lu Ting.
The yellow brim of the hat just covers the little guy's forehead, revealing two smiling deer eyes underneath, and two dimples on the corners of his mouth. He looks very happy.
Xiao Taozhi: "Daddy, is there anything else?"
Lu Ting was stunned for a moment.
In the end, he just walked over and casually fiddled with the kid's hat. No emotion could be heard in his cold voice. "The hat is crooked."
"Thank you, Dad~"
Without even glancing at the little guy, Lu Ting turned and left.
He suddenly understood. It seemed that from the beginning to the end, the little girl had not been against entering a strange and new world, nor was she against going to school. She had not cried and wanted to go home with him...
It's just that he can't bear to leave the little guy...
But no matter how selfish he was, he couldn't keep the little guy by his side forever.
It was his first time taking care of a child. He had no experience and almost no talent in this area. All he could do was to give the little one everything he wanted. Even if she wanted the stars in the sky, he would find a way to pick them down for her.
Now that she, this little fledgling, wants to fly to the sky she longs for, how can he bear to break her wings?
Lu Ting suddenly smiled.
Putting the absurd idea out of his mind, he opened the address book and made a video call to Assistant Zhang.
The call was answered quickly: "Judge Lu, what can I do for you? Didn't your superiors just give you a month's leave?"
Lu Ting made great contributions, and Assistant Zhang was promoted to a higher position and also got paid leave for several days.
"Build a pond behind my house." Lu Ting ordered calmly.
Assistant Zhang was confused: "What's the point of building a pond?"
Could it be that some new alien species has appeared recently and likes to hide in the pond, so Lu Pan wants to lure it out of its hole?
This is a brilliant move by the presiding judge!
Before he could utter any words of praise, he heard Lu Ting say, "Get us two more swans."
Assistant Zhang blurted out: "What do you want a swan for?"
Could it be that the strange beast likes to eat swans?
As expected of Pan Lu, he is so thoughtful!
Just as Assistant Zhang was secretly praising Lu Pan to the skies, Lu Ting suddenly said coldly, "Eat."
Lu Pan's move was truly brilliant...
Hey, wait!
eat? ?
"Are you eating it yourself?"
Assistant Zhang could hardly believe his ears. Aren't they used to catch strange beasts?
Lu Ting: "What else?"
In Assistant Zhang's mind, the tall, glorious and majestic image of Chief Judge Lu collapsed in an instant.
