Chapter 138: Black Tea Voting (Revised)

Jiang Tang initially struggled to navigate this unfamiliar place. But fate struck her, and upon arrival, she encountered Uncle Chen, who was sharing a table at a teahouse. Later, they bumped into each other again, and Uncle Chen learned of a bet between Jiang Tang and Cheng Suozi. Uncle Chen, a man who loved to join in the fun, especially watching Cheng Suozi embarrass himself, volunteered and called in many of his friends. Later, Jiang Tang discovered that Uncle Chen's son was actually the head of a department store. She was delighted, thinking that if she could win over Cheng Suozi, perhaps even a partnership with the department store would be a success.

Not only that, Cheng Hui's mother also enthusiastically helped, bringing in quite a few people. Cheng Hui's friends also came to show their support, and even Team Leader Chen from the transport team brought some people to enjoy the tea. Furthermore, Jiang Tang, while teaching Cheng Hui how to drive, even took the time to draw a large poster for the free tea tasting event and posted it on the teahouse wall.

So, by a little after 1 p.m., the two-story teahouse was packed. Tables that used to seat four or five people were now filled with seven or eight. It was so lively that anyone uninformed would have thought it was some kind of grand festival. The water in the back was even boiling twice as much water as usual.

When Cheng Suozi came to work in the afternoon and saw this scene, his heart skipped a beat and he secretly complained, "Is there even a need to compare?" Many people were just there to watch the fun, and even if the tea didn't taste good, they would still vote.

Jiang Tang walked up to him confidently and said with a smile, "Director Cheng, it's almost time. Let's go. You can host the show."

"Secretary Jiang, although you helped our Cheng Hui, there are some issues of principle that I can't do anything about." Cheng Suozi said helplessly.

"I understand. Director Cheng is willing to give me this opportunity, which means he is helping me." Jiang Tang responded politely.

"We agreed that whether it succeeds or not, you can't blame me," Cheng Suozi emphasized again.

"Director Cheng, I think I'm going to win today. You'd better prepare the long-term tea supply contract." Jiang Tang's eyes flashed with determination.

Director Cheng said nothing more, raised his hand and made a gesture of invitation, and walked towards the main hall with several leaders of the teahouse. Seeing them coming, the noisy hall instantly quieted down, and everyone looked at them with interest.

Director Cheng cleared his throat and began, "My fellow villagers, as you all know, I've been in charge of our city's teahouse for over a decade. Back then, I put a lot of effort into selecting the teas, relying on the approval of hundreds of people before deciding on any. This is also the reason we haven't introduced any new teas in recent years. I've tasted some new teas on the market, but there are very few that can compare to what we have in our teahouse. However, there are also many tea lovers who want to try something new. This guy next to me is Officer Jiang, who came from the provincial capital. He brought tea produced in our province. Just because it's from our province doesn't mean we should break our rules. But then again, we should support things from our own province. So, Officer Jiang and I made a bet. Today, the Zhangshan black tea he brought will be available for free tasting. There's one condition: after everyone has tasted the tea, there will be two signs on the table: red for good, black for bad. If there are more good signs, then we'll add a new tea to our teahouse in the future: Zhangshan black tea."

Jiang Tang continued, "My fellow villagers, our Zhangshan black tea was brought here in accordance with the policy of bringing tea from the south to the north, and it has been grown on a large scale for decades. Furthermore, it is grown in the Zhangshan area, where the climate is humid and the temperature fluctuations are unique, so the tea we produce now has a unique flavor. Our province doesn't produce many varieties of tea to begin with, and now we have this opportunity to promote it. Whether it can generate income for our province's economy depends entirely on the brands in your hands. To thank you for your support, how about I pour tea for you?"

"good!"

"good!"

Everyone cheered, and Jiang Tang used the skills she had just learned to go back and forth in the teahouse for two hours, pouring tea for everyone.

When it came time to vote, there were so many red cards that the people at the front desk didn't even bother counting them because the result was so obvious. Jiang Tang looked at the red cards filling the room, her eyes welling with excitement. She knew her efforts had paid off.

After Lu Cheng called home in the morning, his father came home that evening and told him about his son's relationship. He didn't know anything about it, which made his wife furious: "How can you be a leader? You didn't even ask any important questions."

"I was so excited that I didn't think too much about it. He was in a hurry to hang up the phone. Anyway, I knew the general direction. He has a partner and will be getting married soon." Father Lu tried to explain.

"We must know the girl's family situation, her name, how old she is, and what she does for a living?" Mother Lu looked anxious.

"You ask him." Old Man Lu said helplessly.

Tao Jie glanced at him unhappily. She had no appetite for dinner. Just then, her daughter Lu Tang came over with something in her hand: "Mom and Dad, what's going on?"

When Lu Zhanting saw his daughter coming, he quickly said, "Tangtang, your elder brother has a girlfriend."

"Do you have a partner? What's his name and where is he from? When will you bring him back?" Lu Tang looked excited.

Tao Jie glanced at her husband in annoyance: "Your father didn't even ask clearly... Why didn't Han Shuo come?"

"He is on duty today, so I came here to have a free meal." Lu Tang said with a smile.

No matter how anxious Tao Jie was, she couldn't let her daughter go hungry, so she got up and went to the kitchen. Lu Zhanting whispered to his daughter, "Call your eldest brother someday and ask him about it, then tell your mother." After that, he consciously ran to the bathroom to clean up.

Lu Tang smiled and shook her head, then turned and went into the kitchen: "Mom, Big Brother finally has a partner, and you don't have to worry about him anymore."
