Chapter 47 This is My Boyfriend

Chapter 47 This is My Boyfriend

The two-day college entrance exam came to a close with the rustling sound of pens scraping against test papers. The final bell rang like a heavenly sound, piercing the sweltering midsummer air and the nerves of countless people who had been tense for three years. Outside the exam hall, a tsunami of cheers, screams, sobs, and cries of relief erupted. Countless scraps of paper flew out of the windows of the teaching buildings like colorful butterflies, a riot of color, heralding the end of an era.

Chu Yan and Gu Ye followed the crowd out of the examination center. The sunlight was a bit glaring, and the air was filled with a sense of exhaustion after the dust had settled. The two glanced at each other, each seeing a sense of relief in the other's eyes. The past year or so seemed to have faded into the past, and the moment the college entrance examination ended felt like a dividing point. What lay ahead was a long and arduous period of study, and what lay beyond was an unknown future filled with endless possibilities.

"It's over." Gu Ye let out a long breath, as if to release all the pressure of the past three years.

"Well, it's over." Chu Yan smiled, his eyes bright and happy.

Class 3 (A) had already agreed to a post-exam dinner. At that moment, like wild horses unbridled, they streamed out of the school gates, their destination clearly set on a nearby, established hot pot restaurant renowned for its generous portions and affordable prices. Laughter, banter, and excited discussions filled the air, the air filled with the unique clamor and exuberance of youth.

Chu Yan and Gu Ye were also in the crowd, walking side by side. Gu Ye was discussing with A Liang next to him where they should go on their graduation trip this summer, but Chu Yan's eyes habitually scanned the crowded traffic and crowds outside the school gate. Just as he was about to look away, he caught a glimpse of two familiar cars parked in a relatively secluded corner of the street.

One was Chu Yu’s low-key yet imposing black Bentley.

The other one was Gu Xu's dark gray Porsche with smooth lines and calm color.

The two cars were parked side by side, with a distance between them that was neither too far nor too close, like two sentinels facing each other in silence.

Chu Yan's footsteps paused imperceptibly, then he returned to normal. He turned his head and said to Gu Ye beside him, "You guys go ahead and order the food. I have something to do. I'll come back when I'm done."

Gu Ye followed his gaze and saw the two cars. He recognized Chu Yu's car, but the other one looked familiar. He frowned and tried to recall it, but couldn't recall where he had seen it before. He subconsciously wanted to ask something, but swallowed the words back. He simply nodded, "Okay, hurry up." With that, he followed the group and continued walking towards the hot pot restaurant, but he couldn't help but look back at the two out-of-place luxury cars.

Chu Yan left the crowd and walked calmly towards the street corner. He first came to Chu Yu's car and tapped lightly on the driver's window.

The dark car window silently lowered, revealing Chu Yu's handsome face, which was clearly defined but still expressionless. He looked at Chu Yan, a subtle concern in his deep eyes.

"Is the exam over?" Chu Yu's voice was low.

"Yeah." Chu Yan nodded, with a relaxed smile that only appeared after an exam, and even a bit of youthfulness on his face, "Why is Brother Yu here?"

Chu Yu's gaze lingered on his face for a moment, as if to confirm his state of mind, before explaining calmly, "I heard that after the college entrance exam, parents usually come to pick up their children." His tone was flat, as if stating a perfectly ordinary fact. "I just finished a meeting and stopped by to see you. Also, I wanted to congratulate you on finishing the college entrance exam."

Chu Yan was slightly startled. The word "parent" carried a strange weight when it came out of Chu Yu's mouth. He looked at the subtle concern in Chu Yu's eyes, and a warm current surged in his heart. His smile became more sincere. "Thank you, Brother Yu."

Chu Yu nodded slightly, accepting his thanks. He glanced at the group of classmates not far behind Chu Yan who were still excited and noisy, and asked, "Want to go to a dinner party with your classmates?"

"Yes, hot pot." Chu Yan nodded.

Chu Yu hummed, understanding. He glanced at Chu Yan, who didn't look like someone who'd failed the college entrance exam, and told him to enjoy his graduation holiday for a few days and return to work after the results came out. Chu Yan nodded, understanding. Suddenly, as if remembering something, he said to Chu Yu, "Brother Yu, wait a moment." He turned and walked straight toward the dark gray Porsche parked across from the Bentley.

The driver's window of the Porsche was closed. Gu Xu sat in the car, his eyes following Chu Yan. He watched Chu Yan walk towards Chu Yu, watched the two talk, watched the relaxed smile on Chu Yan's face, and a feeling of bitterness and loss once again surged in his heart. He was obviously Chu Yan's boyfriend, but at such an important moment after the college entrance examination, he could only hide in the car like an underground lover who could not be seen in public, watching his lover talk to another man. He actually hoped to stand at the school gate openly and wait for Chu Yan to come out and give him a hug.

Gu Xu tugged at his tie irritably, his fingers tapping unconsciously on the steering wheel. He was struggling in his mind over whether to get out of the car and assert his sovereignty or to swallow his anger when there was a sudden knock on the car window.

He turned around and saw Chu Yan standing outside the car, looking at him through the dark window glass. Gu Xu's heart skipped a beat, and he almost frantically pressed the window button.

"Ayan?" Gu Xu's voice carried a hint of anxiety and grievance that he himself didn't even notice. "Have you finished talking to President Chu?" He tried to make his tone sound calm.

Chu Yan simply raised an eyebrow and didn't answer his question. Instead, he opened the driver's door and said to Gu Xu inside, "Get out."

Gu Xu: “???” He was completely confused, completely unable to understand what Chu Yan was trying to do. But seeing Chu Yan's eyes, he subconsciously unbuckled his seatbelt, pushed open the car door, and stepped out. The early summer evening breeze brushed his cheeks with warmth. He stood by the car, looking at Chu Yan in a daze.

Chu Yan didn't explain further, simply reaching out and grasping Gu Yu's wrist. His fingers were warm and powerful, holding onto him with a strength that wouldn't let him break free. Gu Yu's heart skipped a beat at his sudden advance and intimacy, but before he could savor the surprise, Chu Yan pulled him along, striding towards Chu Yu's Bentley across the street.

"Ah Yan? Are you going to say hello to Mr. Chu?" Gu Yan was being dragged away, feeling even more confused and even a little uneasy. What was Chu Yan planning? Taking the initiative to bring him to Chu Yu? Chu Yu's eyes were never friendly. Don't think he didn't know that Chu Yu was wary of him like a thief. Countless possibilities flashed through his mind, each one making him wonder if Chu Yan had gotten carried away.

Chu Yan still didn't answer. His expression was calm, even strangely relaxed. He pulled Gu Xu along, and without hesitation, he walked straight to the driver's seat of the Bentley.

Chu Yu sat in the car, watching coldly as Chu Yan walked toward Gu Xu's car, opened the door, and Gu Xu got out, then walked hand in hand toward him. Chu Yu's pupils constricted, a wave of icy anger mixed with disbelief washing over him. How could Chu Yan be so close to Gu Xu? His fingers tightened around the steering wheel, his knuckles turning white and veins surging on the back of his hand.

At this moment, Chu Yan pulled Gu Xu and stood outside his car window.

Chu Yan's gaze was clear and calm as he met Chu Yu's icy, chilling eyes. There wasn't a trace of panic or timidity on his face. Instead, he smiled a brilliant, even sly smile, like a young man who had succeeded in a mischievous prank. In the golden glow of the setting sun, that smile was startlingly dazzling.

Then, he spoke to Chu Yu in the car, word by word, in a clear, steady, and unquestionable voice:

"Brother Yu, let me introduce you. This is my boyfriend, Gu Xu."
