Chapter 54 Teaching
Three days flew by in the bustle of Berlin, punctuated by Chu Yu's clumsy yet relentless pursuit. His actions were textbook examples of "straight male idol drama" pursuits: the flowers he sent were pitcher plants, the carnivorous plants Chu Yan had casually mentioned as interesting, and Chu Yan, with a mixture of laughter and tears, placed them on the windowsill; a date at a high-end restaurant ended with them spending the entire evening chatting about project optimization; an attempt at a "chance encounter" at the gym resulted in Chu Yan emerging from a swim wrapped in a towel, creating a deeply awkward and pleasing scene.
Chu Yu still maintained the composure of a president, but the subtle sense of frustration deep in his eyes drooped like a puppy.
That evening, after finishing the last bit of finishing work for the exhibition, Chu Yan leaned against the bar in the living room of Chu Yu's suite, shaking the golden whiskey in the glass. He looked at Chu Yu, who was sitting opposite him with a serious expression and a frown on his face, staring at the tablet computer, and suddenly smiled.
"Brother Yu," his voice was a bit lazy and magnetic, "Are you free tomorrow?"
Chu Yu raised his head from the tablet screen, his eyes inquiring: "The exhibition is over, and the team will follow up on the report. The schedule for tomorrow can be adjusted." The implication is that he is free, very free.
Chu Yan put down his wine glass, walked over to Chu Yu, leaned forward slightly, and looked at him with a mischievous smile: "Since I accepted such expensive 'tuition' from Brother Yu, I should at least teach him something real, right? Otherwise, it would seem so dishonest of me."
Chu Yu's eyes lit up instantly, like searchlights in the darkness, locking onto Chu Yan with pinpoint accuracy. Although his face remained expressionless, the anticipation of "finally getting to the real lesson" was practically overflowing.
"What to teach?" Chu Yu tried to keep his voice steady, but the ending tone seemed to rise a few tenths of a degree than usual.
Chu Yan stood up, snapped his fingers, and smiled slyly: "First lesson, dating tutorial."
The next morning, the sun was shining brightly, a perfect day for "practice." Chu Yan, carrying an exquisite paper bag, knocked on Chu Yu's door.
The door opened quickly. Chu Yu was already dressed, wearing a pair of neatly ironed dark grey slacks and a fine navy blue shirt, his hair styled with care.
"Good morning." Chu Yu's eyes fell on the paper bag in Chu Yan's hand.
"Good morning, Brother Yu." Chu Yan handed over the paper bag with a smile, "Change into this."
Chu Yu took it with suspicion and opened it. Inside was a brand new white casual shirt, almost identical to the one Chu Yan was wearing. He picked one up and looked at Chu Yan: "What is this?"
"Well," Chu Yan touched his chin, his eyes teasing, "Just think of it as 'brotherly attire'?" He deliberately dragged out the tone.
Chu Yu: “…”
Chu Yu's CPU raced, trying to comprehend this logic. Dating textbooks didn't seem to mention this, nor did Qin Xiao's awful idea. But looking at Chu Yan's face, which read "Trust me, it's right," he ultimately chose to obey.
He silently took the clothes and went back to his room to change.
The system's electronic voice echoed excitedly in Chu Yan's mind, accompanied by the crackling sound of the virtual keyboard. "The host is indeed a hidden talent. I will soon become the general attack of the Tong class." Ever since Chu Yan's true nature as a scumbag was exposed, Tongzi seemed to have awakened. It always felt that Chu Yan had something special, so it was ready to learn from him.
Chu Yan was too lazy to pay attention to it.
A moment later, Chu Yu emerged, dressed. His pure white casual shirt, crisp in fabric and well-tailored, perfectly showcased his broad shoulders and narrow waist. However, he habitually buttoned his collar all the way to the top, his cuffs buttoned tightly. Combined with his expressionless face and upright stance, he exuded a serious aura that suggested, "I'm here to inspect work, not to have fun!" This formed a strange contrast with the casual shirt's designation.
Chu Yan, meanwhile, wore the same white shirt, but with the top two buttons casually undone, revealing a graceful collarbone. A design-rich, bright silver clavicle chain adorned it, gleaming in the morning light. His sleeves were loosely rolled up to his elbows, revealing his sturdy forearms. He exuded a relaxed, casual air, yet with just the right touch of sexiness.
Chu Yan looked Chu Yu up and down and couldn't help laughing: "Brother Yu, relax, we are not going here for business negotiations." He walked forward and reached out to help Chu Yu unbutton the top button.
Chu Yu's body tensed up instantly, and he subconsciously took a half step back, looking at Chu Yan's hand warily: "What are you doing?" The look in his eyes was as if Chu Yan was holding something dangerous in his hand.
Chu Yan's hand stopped in mid-air, he raised his eyebrows, and shrugged helplessly: "Okay, respect personal style. This is fine."
Chu Yan drove Chu Yu to their destination, the largest amusement park in Berlin.
The car pulled up to the huge, colorful entrance plaza of the amusement park. Even on a weekend morning, the place was already bustling with the sounds of screaming children, laughing couples, and upbeat background music. Giant cartoon dolls beckoned visitors at the entrance, and the sweet aroma of cotton candy and popcorn wafted through the air.
Chu Yu followed Chu Yan out of the car and stood at the edge of the noisy crowd, his brows furrowed slightly, barely perceptible. This overly lively and noisy environment was clearly not his usual comfort zone.
"Here," Chu Yan raised his chin, pointing to the fairytale-like gate and the towering roller coaster track in the distance. "This is a must-see for couples on a date. Although the clichés are a bit old-fashioned, classics are timeless." He turned his head to look at Chu Yu, a smile in his eyes. "I know you've never been to a place like this, so today I'll take you on a glimpse into your childhood."
Chu Yu looked at the environment before him, which was so out of tune with his daily life, and nodded obediently. He silently made a mental note: the date location should be the amusement park.
Chu Yan walked towards the ticket machine to get the ticket, turned around and asked casually: "Brother Yu, would you like some milk tea? There's a shop over there." He pointed to the internet-famous milk tea shop not far away.
Chu Yu did not answer immediately. He calmly observed the couples around him. Almost every pair was holding milk tea.
So, he turned to Chu Yan and nodded seriously and affirmatively: "I want to drink."
Chu Yan took in Chu Yu's observations, which were like a commercial due diligence, and almost couldn't help laughing. His cousin was so adorable.
"Okay, then you wait here for me, I'll go get the ticket and buy it at the same time." Chu Yan turned and walked towards the ticket machine.
Chu Yu stood there alone, his posture straight and upright. He did not play with his mobile phone like ordinary people would while waiting. Instead, he secretly glanced at the interactions of the couples passing by, and then silently memorized them in his heart.
The powerful and aloof aura he exuded deterred several vendors trying to sell balloons and glittery headpieces. Standing there, he looked more like the president of a group on an incognito visit to evaluate the acquisition of an amusement park than a date.
Another addition to the system's virtual notebook.
When Chu Yan came back with two cups of milk tea, he saw this scene:
His cousin, who had an imposing presence of two meters and eight, stood like a sculpture in the ocean of joy, studying with a serious face and sharp eyes a young couple who were feeding ice cream to each other not far away. His focused expression seemed as if he was studying some cutting-edge technological problem.
Chu Yan tried to hold it back, but finally couldn't help it and laughed softly. He walked over to Chu Yu and handed her the milk tea cup with cute cartoon patterns printed on it: "Here, this is yours."
Chu Yu finally pulled his attention away from his studies and took the milk tea. The cup was icy cold, with the words "Cheese Oolong" printed on it. He imitated what he had just observed and inserted the straw.
Chu Yan looked at him studying so seriously, and a smile almost overflowed from his eyes. He took a step closer, tilted his head slightly, looked into Chu Yu's deep eyes that still carried the lingering meaning of study, and said with a hint of mischievous temptation:
"Brother Yu, you're so interested in studying the people around you..." He paused, and when Chu Yu subconsciously looked over, he slowly uttered the second half of the sentence, "Why don't you take a closer look at me?"
Chu Yu's fingers tightened slightly around the milk tea cup, her gaze fixed on Chu Yan's face, who was so close to her. The morning light highlighted Chu Yan's smiling face, his collarbone beneath his slightly open neckline, and the gleaming chain, making him more attractive than any other observation specimen.
He nodded very solemnly, as if writing down an extremely important business rule: look at the other person more on a date.
"Yeah." Chu Yu responded, and his eyes were indeed fixed on Chu Yan, not moving away at all.
Chu Yan was a little overwhelmed by his overly serious and direct gaze. He coughed lightly and took a sip of his milk tea to cover it up. The sweet bubble tea exploded in his mouth.
"Let's go," Chu Yan shook the ticket in his hand and turned around first, "First lesson in dating, the practice begins." He walked towards the gate of the amusement park filled with laughter and unknown "teaching challenges".
