Chapter 78: Calming Down
Inside the VIP ward of a private hospital, it was so quiet that only the faint sound of air from the central air conditioner and the occasional crisp sound of keyboard tapping could be heard.
When Gu Xu woke up, it was already bright outside. Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the blinds, casting dappled shadows on the polished floor. His body gradually regained consciousness, and the first thing he felt was a heaviness and soreness in his knees, a sensation that persisted even after proper treatment, and the exhaustion that followed overexertion throughout his muscles.
He opened his eyes, took a moment to adjust to the light, and then subconsciously looked at the sofa next to him - empty.
I glanced at the bedside table and saw the note paper pressed under the water cup.
Gu Xu stared at the note for a few seconds, his pale face expressionless, his fingertips unconsciously rubbing the word "Yan". Then he pressed the call bell at the bedside.
A nurse in a pink uniform walked in quickly, her smile professional and friendly: "Mr. Gu, are you awake? How are you feeling? Is there anything you need?"
"Not bad." Gu's voice was still a little hoarse. "Please help me adjust the height of the bed and bring me my laptop and phone. Thank you."
The nurse hesitated: "Mr. Gu, you just woke up, you need more rest..."
"Nothing," Gu interrupted her, his tone calm but unquestionable, "Just dealing with some urgent emails."
Seeing his resolute attitude, the nurse obliged. She adjusted his bed and handed him his laptop and phone from a nearby cabinet, carefully reminding him, "Rest well, and ring the bell immediately if you feel any discomfort."
"Yeah." Gu Xu took the computer and responded lightly.
After the nurse left, the ward returned to silence. Gu Xu turned on his computer and connected to the internet. A stream of unread emails and messages instantly popped up on his screen. He ignored his discomfort, took a deep breath, and quickly got back to work. Ruichuang Technology had just undergone a major transformation, and countless eyes were watching. He had to stabilize the situation quickly.
At the same time, on the other side of the city, in an apartment bedroom, the scene was quite different.
Chu Yan looked at Gu Ye, who was limp on the bed, unwilling to move, whining and complaining about his waist being broken. He felt both angry and amused. He sat on the edge of the bed and massaged Gu Ye's aching waist with a skillful technique, not too strong or too weak.
"Do you still dare to act like a troublemaker? Hmm?" Chu Yan's voice was full of ridicule. "You're clearly unable to resist, yet you still insist on being aggressive and provocative?"
Last night, after he had calmed Gu Ye down and the atmosphere between them had just calmed down, Gu Ye, for some unknown reason, perhaps driven by a sense of crisis or simply wanting to prove something, began pestering Chu Yan in various ways, refusing to let him leave. Whenever Chu Yan showed any sign of wanting to go back, Gu Ye would immediately put on a face of grievance, as if to say, "You really don't like me anymore," "You're going to abandon me for him," and howl, leaving Chu Yan in a state of both laughter and tears, and he could only patiently continue to comfort him.
The result is that after soothing themselves, they end up in bed. However, some people obviously overestimate their ability to endure, and after a lot of tossing and turning, they succeed in making themselves paralyzed in bed the next day.
Gu Ye buried his face in the pillow. When he heard Chu Yan's teasing, the tips of his ears turned red, but he still said stubbornly: "If you dare to do it next time..."

Chu Yan laughed and deliberately increased the strength of his hands, causing Gu Ye to cry out in pain.

Chu Yan got up, put on his clothes, and prepared to go back to the hospital.

"He told me..." Gu Ye paused, but still said it, "Mobilize all resources and deal with Ruichuang Technology at all costs. We must defeat it in the shortest possible time."
Chu Yan's eyes narrowed slightly.
Gu Ye looked at Chu Yan with a complicated tone: "I didn't think much about it at the time and just refused."
He seemed a little embarrassed after he finished speaking, lowering his head again and adding softly, "I don't know why I refused at the time, I just subconsciously felt that I couldn't do that." He was afraid of embarrassing Chu Yan, afraid of seeing Chu Yan's disappointed eyes. Even at that time, he had just suffered a huge emotional shock.
Chu Yan looked at him quietly for a few seconds. How could Gu Ye, this kid, still maintain this subconscious protection in that situation?
He walked forward, kissed Gu Ye, and said in a gentle tone: "Well, I understand."
It seemed that Gu Hongyuan was indeed impatient to strike, and his methods were extremely ruthless, directly wanting to destroy Ruichuang. However, he probably didn't expect that the "knife" he chose would actually turn against him at the last minute.

When Chu Yan returned to the private hospital and pushed open the door of Gu Xu's ward, he saw Gu Xu half leaning on the hospital bed, with a laptop on his knees and a pair of blue light blocking glasses on his nose. He was staring at the screen intently, his fingers occasionally sliding on the touchpad.
The exquisite and nutritious meal on the mobile dining table next to them seemed to have hardly been touched.
Chu Yan leaned against the door of the ward, looked at this scene, and sighed helplessly.
"Mr. Gu," he said, his voice tinged with disapproval, "You're sick, why don't you at least take a rest for a while?"
Gu Xu looked up at the sound and saw Chu Yan at the door. His eyes fluttered slightly behind his glasses before returning to their usual composure. He closed his computer and rubbed his brow, which was a little sore.
"There were some emergencies that needed to be dealt with." He explained, then his eyes fell on Chu Yan, "I succeeded."
"Well, I know. You are free, brother."
