Chapter 83 Dream

Chapter 83 Dream

It was already early morning when we returned to our room at the farmhouse. It was a quiet night, with only the occasional chirping of insects in the distance adding to the stillness of the surroundings.

The room was dark, the curtains blocking out any light. The darkness seemed to swallow everything. After a quick wash, the two men lay side by side on the large bed, which was a bit cramped for two adult men.

Chu Yu lay rigidly on the side of the bed, as close to the edge as possible, his body stretched straight. The sound of Chu Yan's steady, long breathing was heard beside him, infinitely amplified in the silence, clearly penetrating his eardrums.

His Adam's apple rolled up and down unconsciously. Although his body was tired, his brain was extremely active. He uncontrollably replayed the details of the ghost story told by the short-haired girl in the ancestral hall just now - the woman in red, the late night, the thumping sound of jumping... Every element became particularly clear and terrifying under the fermentation of darkness.

He subconsciously turned his head to look towards the door. Although there was only thick darkness before him, he had a feeling that behind the door, a figure in red clothes seemed to be standing silently, peering coldly into the room through the crack in the door...

Frightened by the scene in his mind, Chu Yu couldn't help but rubbed quietly towards the middle of the bed, towards Chu Yan, trying to find a little sense of security.

However, the next second, a warm arm reached out naturally, wrapped around his waist accurately, and pulled him into his arms.

Chu Yu's body froze instantly.

"Brother Yu, can't you sleep?" Chu Yan's gentle voice sounded at a very close distance. The warm breath brushed across Chu Yu's earlobes and neck like a feather, bringing a slight shudder.

Too close. So close that Chu Yu could clearly feel the steady heartbeat and burning body temperature coming from Chu Yan's chest, so close that he could smell the refreshing and uniquely seductive scent from Chu Yan's body after his bath.

"...Yeah." Chu Yu responded, trying to make his voice sound as calm and cold as ever, but his slightly accelerated heartbeat and instantly tensed muscles could not escape Chu Yan's keen perception.

"Then I'll hold you while you sleep, okay?" Chu Yan's voice carried a hint of just the right amount of dependence, and he even exaggeratedly shrank his neck and rubbed it against Chu Yu's neck. "The ghost story I heard today was really scary... If you don't hold me close, I'll feel creepy and can't sleep."

Chu Yu: "..." He felt as if the skin where Chu Yan had rubbed him had been electrified, tingling and numb. He knew clearly that this guy was most likely playing pitiful, but hearing his soft voice and feeling the warmth he conveyed, Chu Yu's pitiful ability to refuse instantly collapsed.

His body was still stiff, but he squeezed out a syllable from his throat: "...Hmm."

Then, she really stopped moving, like a statue under a spell, and let Chu Yan hold her straight.

Chu Yan felt the stiff body in his arms, feeling a bit amused and helpless. He was usually used to being cuddled by Gu Ye's clingy and coquettish demeanor, so suddenly meeting Chu Yu, who was clearly afraid yet feigned composure, awkward yet obedient, was a truly novel experience.

Chu Yu, held tightly in his arms, felt strangely at ease after her initial stiffness subsided. The warm, solid embrace behind her was like an invisible barrier, blocking out all terrifying thoughts of darkness and ghosts. Chu Yan's reassuring scent lingered on her nose, and her ears were filled with the sound of his steady breathing and heartbeat. An inexplicable drowsiness gradually settled over her.

He closed his eyes, allowing himself to indulge in this rare sense of security, and soon fell into a dreamless sleep.

I don’t know how long it took, but at some point the moonlight quietly penetrated the clouds, and the silver light slipped into the room through the gaps in the curtains, like a soft gauze curtain, dimly illuminating the two people sleeping in each other’s arms on the bed.

Chu Yu suddenly opened his eyes.

The sky brightened up, and the sunlight filtered through the gaps in the undrawn curtains, creating a dazzling golden streak across the floor.

He sat up straight and looked around subconsciously - the other side of the bed was empty, with only a few imperceptible wrinkles to prove that someone had slept there.

Chu Yu sat there in a daze for a long while, then he raised his hands to cover his face in a bit of collapse, and his ears turned red at a speed visible to the naked eye.

It is the kind of erotic dream that is difficult to talk about, beautiful and passionate.

The image in the dream was so clear it was shocking—Chu Yan was lying beneath him, his eyes, which always wore a careless smile, were now misted with emotion, the corners of his eyes tinged with an alluring red, and his usually lazy voice became broken and sweet, calling him "Brother Yu" over and over again...

"Cough!" Chu Yu choked on his own memories, his mouth dry and a surge of heat uncontrollably surging down his spine. Almost panic-stricken, he grabbed the glass of perfectly warm water on the bedside table and drank it in one gulp, trying to suppress the dryness in his throat and the restlessness surging in his body.

The liquid slid down his throat, slightly easing the heat. He took several deep breaths, trying to calm his turbulent heartbeat and breathing. Then he got up from the bed and hurried into the bathroom, washing his face vigorously with cold water, trying to wash away all the inappropriate images and feelings.

After calming down, Chu Yu opened the door and walked out.

Today's activities are relatively relaxed, which means free time in the farm house, barbecue, fishing, or strolling around.

Chu Yu walked out of the small building and subconsciously looked around. Soon he saw the familiar figure by the pond not far away.

Chu Yan was sitting on a small stool, a fishing rod in hand, leisurely waiting for a bite. The morning sun shone generously on him, casting a soft golden hue all over him. Even his slightly curled hair seemed particularly dazzling, as if his entire body was glowing.

Chu Yu's footsteps paused imperceptibly, and his heart seemed to skip a beat. He pursed his lips and unconsciously walked in that direction.

Chu Yan heard footsteps and turned around. Seeing Chu Yu, a bright smile immediately spread across his face, dazzling in the morning light. "Brother Yu, are you awake? Did you sleep well?"

Chu Yu was a little dazed by his laughter. She subconsciously avoided his gaze and said "hmm" vaguely. She sat down on the small stool next to him as naturally as possible: "Not... okay."

Chu Yan looked at his slightly reddened ears and his obviously unnatural reaction, a sly smile flickering across his eyes. He clearly remembered that last night, Brother Yu, who had "slept well," unconsciously murmured his name in his dream. The voice was hoarse and lustful, completely different from his usual cold demeanor.

I really didn't expect that Brother Yu, who looks so serious and abstinent, actually had quite a lot of fun in his dreams.

"Chu Yan! Brother Yu! You can come over for the barbecue!" Lu Chen called out loudly from the other side of the pond.

The grill had been set up, the charcoal fire blazing. The others were busily busy skewering the meat and applying sauces. Chu Yan naturally took over the grilling duties, expertly flipping the skewers, basting and oiling them, all in one go.

Chu Yu didn't know any of this, so he just stood by and watched quietly. He was watching with great concentration, his brows slightly furrowed, his eyes fixed on Chu Yan's every move, and he had the attitude of studying hard and making progress every day.

Seeing how interested he was, Chu Yan generously taught him some techniques while grilling: "Control the heat well, don't keep turning it over... Brush the oil evenly... Sprinkle the ingredients while it's hot..."

"Brother Yu, would you like to try it?" Chu Yan handed over a handful of sizzling chicken wings.

Chu Yu nodded and took the skewers and brush with a serious expression. He thought he would take a look.

Chu Yan looked at the chicken wings in Chu Yu's hand, one side of which was as black as charcoal and the other side was still streaked with blood. He was silent for a moment, then took them as if nothing had happened: "...Brother Yu, let me do this kind of rough work."

Without a doubt, the only food served on the table at noon was the delicious food grilled by Chu Yan.

In the afternoon, the sun became quite hot. After some discussion, we decided to go back to our rooms and take a nap to escape the heat.

Chu Yan sat cross-legged on the bed, looking at Chu Yu who was still standing at the door hesitating, and couldn't help laughing: "Brother Yu, aren't you going to take a nap? Don't you want to go fishing again in the afternoon?"

Chu Yu's eyes were vague: "I... am not sleepy, you go to sleep." When he saw the bed and Chu Yan lying on it, he couldn't help but recall the overly vivid dream he had last night. How could he dare to lie down on it?

Chu Yan tilted his head, looking at his fearful expression, his smile deepened: "Then lie down and rest for a while. The sun is so strong outside, there is nowhere to stay outside." He patted the empty space next to him, "Just consider it as keeping me company?"

Unable to find a suitable excuse to refuse, Chu Yu had no choice but to walk over and lie down stiffly, his body stretched straight, trying to stay as far away from Chu Yan as possible, almost falling off the bed.

Chu Yan looked at him as if he was lying on a nail board, sighed softly, and then suddenly turned over, curled himself up, and like a small animal seeking warmth, accurately squeezed himself between Chu Yu's arms and body, and rested his head on Chu Yu's arm.

"Good afternoon, Brother Yu." He muttered, then closed his eyes. His breathing quickly became steady and long, as if he had really fallen asleep.

Chu Yu: “!!!”

The whole person was instantly like being cast into petrification magic, completely frozen, not daring to move.

Chu Yan's head rested on his arm, her soft hair rubbing against his skin, bringing a subtle tickling sensation. Their bodies were so close that he could even feel Chu Yan's warmth and softness through the thin fabric...

Chu Yu felt as if all the blood in his body had rushed to his head, his cheeks burning intensely. He remained rigidly in this position, even breathing softly, fearing to startle the person in his arms. After a long while, he carefully relaxed his tense muscles, as if accepting his fate, and adjusted his position to make Chu Yan's pillow more comfortable.

He stared at the ceiling with his eyes open, his heart beating like a drum, and there was no way he could feel sleepy at all.

Chu Yan, who was carefully protected in his arms, raised the corner of his mouth in an angle where no one could see, with a triumphant, fox-like smile.

"Brother Yu is just too serious. It's really fun to tease him." He said to the system in his mind.

The system was silent for two seconds, then muttered quietly: […Fairy Chu.]

Chu Yan raised an eyebrow: [? You've learned the system's bad habits.]

The system confidently retorted: [So what? What else can we do?]

Chu Yan chuckled softly, no longer paying attention to the system's complaints, and enjoying this rare "Chu Yu Brand Afternoon Pillow" with peace of mind.
