After Tao Yuan finally coaxed Qu Li to sleep, he put him on the bed and let him sleep soundly. Looking at Qu Li's tear-stained face, Tao Yuan felt extremely distressed.
Thinking about how he'd only cared for Qu Li for two days and nearly had him injured, Tao Yuan felt a knot of anger in his chest, a tight knot that made him feel uncomfortable. If he hadn't reacted quickly and used his spiritual power to repel the fox spirit, allowing Qu Li to be injured, he would have been too embarrassed to face Miao Chen.
Yu-yu walked in and whispered, "Lord, the two ministers from Sang Kingdom wish to see you."
"Hmph, I was just about to see them." Tao Yuan ordered, "Let them wait outside."
Tao Yuan drank a cup of tea, watched over Qu Li for a while, deliberately delayed for a while, and then slowly walked out.
When Sang Yun and Sang Wen saw the servant lift the curtain and Tao Yuan walk out, they immediately stood up.
Tao Yuan glanced at them, then walked over to the chair above and sat down.
"Xue Ji almost hurt the prince just now. Please don't bother with a beast. I have already ordered people to go back to the palace to get some treasures and supplements to calm the prince down." Sang Yun said gently in a neither arrogant nor humble manner.
"That child is not the son of the king and me." Tao Yuan said to Sang Yun expressionlessly.
"Really?" Sang Yun breathed a sigh of relief. "Although he wasn't the Crown Prince, it was Xue Ji who frightened the child. So, please ask Your Majesty to pass on the apology."
Sang Yun thought to himself that since the child was not the prince, the apology could be reduced.
Sang Wen was thinking that since the child was not Lei Yuan's, Xue Ji might be able to get him back.
"That child is my younger brother and the only heir of my Qu family. My father and my grandpa have been looking forward to having such a son for many years. Now he is less than half a year old and he almost died in the mouth of a beast." Tao Yuan looked at them coldly.
Sang Yun saw Tao Yuan's expression and knew he was truly furious. He figured an apology was necessary. He'd been relieved earlier, having learned the child wasn't the Crown Prince, but now his worries were rekindled, having never imagined the child could be Tao Yuan's biological brother. Qu Cang's reputation was well-known throughout the smaller kingdoms of the north. If Xue Ji had truly harmed his child, it would be as serious as injuring the Crown Prince of Lei Wu.
"I'm really sorry. I'll leave the beast to you, my lord. As long as you can calm down, you can skin it alive. It deserves it." Sang Yun said.
Sang Wen lowered his head, feeling a little sad knowing that Xue Ji would not come back.
"Of course I won't let this beast off easily, but a beast is just a beast after all. No matter how human it is, it still needs to be disciplined by its owner. It would be fine if it didn't have an owner, but it has an owner and it still hurts people so recklessly. It can only mean that its owner didn't discipline it well." Tao Yuan said coldly.
"What Lord Wang said is right. It was all our fault for being careless and not noticing it sneaking out in time, which almost caused a disaster. Fortunately, the young master is safe and sound, otherwise we would blame ourselves for the rest of our lives." Sang Yun said with a guilty look on his face.
Tao Yuan glanced back and forth between Sang Yun and Sang Wen, then suddenly laughed. He thought to himself that while they were twins, their personalities were clearly completely different, and their IQs differed as well. However, judging by Sang Wen's silence and head lowered, he wasn't particularly clueless. Meanwhile, Sang Yun, who had been talking the entire time, appeared gentle and docile, but in reality, beneath his gentle exterior, he was a man of great scheming, a man who concealed his scheming.
Tao Yuan has experienced so many lives and met all kinds of people. Even without the system, he can see through what kind of people these two people are in essence.
Why did the two royal ministers of Sang suddenly appear here? They must have a purpose. Tao Yuan thought, it seems that these two will be his next opponents. To be honest, he didn't take Yan Hao and Qu Feng seriously at all. Lei Yuan would help him deal with them anyway. As for these two people, although he didn't need to take them seriously, playing with them was not bad, just to pass the time.
The tent door curtain was lifted, Lei Yuan walked in from outside, and Sang Yuan followed behind him.
Lei Yuan felt that the atmosphere was not right when he came in. He walked over to sit next to Tao Yuan, turned his head to look at Tao Yuan and asked, "What's wrong?"
"My two royal ministers, are you here as guests?" Tao Yuan also turned to look at Lei Yuan and asked.
"They are leaving soon." Lei Yuan said.
Tao Yuan smiled and said, "Since they are guests, we should treat them well. Why are you so anxious to send them away?"
"Thank you, Your Majesty, for staying with us. We are really bored in the palace, so we followed the Third Prince here to take a look around. If Your Majesty doesn't mind, we can stay and chat with you to kill some time."
"Your Majesties are of noble status, so how could I disdain you? Since you two Majesties wish to stay for a few more days, then please do. However, I just brought my younger brother here today to take care of him, and I also have to take care of the King's daily life. My energy is really limited. If you two Majesties insist on staying, I may not be able to accommodate you well. I hope you won't mind."
"How could that be?" Sang Yun said with a smile. "We don't dare to let Wang Jun spend too much effort to entertain us. We just want to stay and talk with Wang Jun. If Wang Jun is free, please ask us to come. If not, don't bother with us."
"My king, is fox meat delicious? I haven't eaten it yet." Tao Yuan turned and asked Lei Yuan.
"It's not very tasty." Lei Yuan looked at Tao Yuan with eyes full of doting and said, "But if you're curious, I'll have someone catch one and let you taste it."
"There's no need to send someone to catch it. There's a ready-made one here, given to me by two royal ministers." Tao Yuan pointed to the cage next to him and said.
Sang Yuan looked down and was stunned for a moment before saying, "This is..., Xue Ji?"
"Frost is coming." Tao Yuan shouted.
"Here." Jiang Shuang took a step forward.
"Give this fox to the cook and ask him to cook it as deliciously as possible. We'll share some of it with the two royal officials later."
"Yes." Jiangshuang picked up the cage and walked out.
"Xue Ji!" When Sang Wen heard that Tao Yuan wanted to eat Xue Ji's flesh, he immediately got excited and tried to snatch it away, but was stopped by Sang Yun, who glared at him hard.
"Wait a minute." Tao Yuan stopped Jiang Shuang and said, "This fox's fur looks good. Tell the cook to get the fur off intact."
"Yes." Jiang Shuang turned around, lifted the curtain and walked out.
"You two nobles, there's no need to be reluctant to part with this beast. A creature like this that can't be tamed will only bring harm if kept. If I'm not mistaken, this beast certainly isn't the first time it's hurt someone, right?"
"Were you hurt by that fox?!" Lei Yuan immediately looked at Tao Yuan nervously, put his arm around his shoulders, and wanted to carry him to the inner room for examination.
"No," Tao Yuan said, holding Lei Yuan's hand. "I wasn't hurt. The fox suddenly rushed out and almost bit Qu Li, but luckily I used my spiritual power to deflect it in time."
"You're really not hurt." Lei Yuan couldn't help but frown, still feeling uneasy.
"Really not." Tao Yuan covered his mouth with his hand and said silently, "I'll let you check it later."
Lei Yuan then let go of Tao Yuan, glared at Sang Yun and Sang Wen, and said fiercely, "If you can't control that beast, you shouldn't have brought it here. If it really bites my king or my brother-in-law, can you bear the consequences?!"
"Your Majesty is absolutely right. It's all our fault for not keeping an eye on the beast. Fortunately, it didn't hurt the Lord and the young master. The Lord is tolerant and generous and doesn't hold it against us. It would be a good thing to kill the beast to vent the Lord's anger." Sang Yun's words not only agreed with Lei Yuan's words, but also explained that the fox didn't hurt anyone. It seemed that he was saying that Tao Yuan was tolerant and didn't hold it against them, but in fact he was saying that since no one was hurt, Tao Yuan couldn't hold it against them and could only vent his anger on the beast.
Lei Yuan's nervousness for Tao Yuan surprised Sang Yun and Sang Wen, yet they were both incredibly envious. Although Sang Yuan had told them before their arrival that Lei Yuan loved his legitimate husband, they were immediately captivated by his appearance and presence. They had assumed he was someone whose emotions were invisible, but they hadn't expected him to be so open about his nervousness for Tao Yuan. They deeply hoped that one day Lei Yuan would be just as nervous for them.
"I saw that spirit fox rushing out and biting, it's quite skilled. It must have killed many people to practice. The two royal nobles are of noble status, so naturally they don't care about human life. However, everyone is born by their parents, and death is inevitable. But no matter how you die, it is better than dying at the hands of a beast. So I would like to advise the two royal nobles to keep some docile animals around you in the future, so as to avoid being hurt by those unruly beasts."
"What Wang Jun said makes sense. We must raise some docile animals in the future." Sang Yun looked gentle. After saying this, he glanced at Lei Yuan with a gleam in his eyes.
Sang Yuan had already understood what was going on. He turned and glared at Sang Yun and Sang Wen, then bowed to Lei Yuan and Tao Yuan and said, "I'm sorry to have frightened the king. I'll take them back and discipline them properly to prevent them from embarrassing themselves in front of the king."
When Sang Yun and Sang Wen heard him say that he would take them back immediately, they both looked at him. There was obvious reluctance in Sang Wen's eyes, but there was no emotion on Sang Yun's face.
"Since they want to stay, and I've agreed, how can I go back on my word? If the Crown Prince has something urgent to do, just go ahead. In two days, the King will naturally arrange for someone to send the two royal officials back safely." Tao Yuan turned around and quickly gave Lei Yuan a look, "Isn't that right, Your Majesty?"
Lei Yuan looked at Tao Yuan for a while. He didn't want to keep these two people, but he didn't want to reject Tao Yuan's words either. He could only turn around and say to Sang Yuan, "The Crown Prince can go back first, and the two royal ministers can stay."
Sang Yuan knew it would be inappropriate to keep them here now, so he insisted, "If we leave them here like this, my father will definitely blame me if he finds out. I beg your forgiveness, Your Majesty. I'll let them stay and talk to you next time after I've reported to my father."
Tao Yuan smiled and said, "In that case, I won't keep more of you."
"Goodbye." Sang Yuan bowed to Lei Yuan and said, "Let's go."
After watching them leave, Lei Yuan looked at Tao Yuan and asked, "Do you know what they are here for?"
"I know," Tao Yuan said with a smile, "The King of Sang wanted to marry the twin princes to you to strengthen the relationship between the two countries. So the Crown Prince of Sang specially brought the two princes to see you. Am I right?"
"If you knew that, why did you keep them?"
"If I don't keep them, how can they know how much you love me, my king?" Tao Yuan looked at Lei Yuan and blinked at him with alluring charm in his eyes.
Lei Yuan picked him up and walked into the inner room.
Lei Yuan laid Tao Yuan down on the bed, pressed on him and kissed him hard, sucking the sweetness from his mouth and stirring his soft tongue.
Tao Yuan hugged his neck and kissed him back. When Lei Yuan opened his clothes and put his hands in to knead him, Qu Li, who was lying on the other side of the bed, suddenly burst into tears.
Tao Yuan quickly pushed Lei Yuan away and sat up. After pulling up the clothes that had fallen off his shoulders, he quickly went over and picked up Qu Li and coaxed him gently.
Lei Yuan lowered his head and glanced between his thighs. He couldn't bear it anymore, and he didn't want to bear it either.
"Look, my king," Tao Yuan walked over to sit next to Lei Yuan, and said with a smile as if showing off a treasure to him, "This is my younger brother."
"Let Jiangshuang come in and take my brother-in-law away." Lei Yuan said with a stern face.
"Why are you taking him away?" Tao Yuan said, "I'll coax him and he'll fall asleep soon. I'll let him sleep on the bed later. Can't we just keep quiet?"
"Frost is coming!" Lei Yuan shouted loudly.
"Don't scream!" Tao Yuan quickly covered Lei Yuan's mouth, looked at him with pleading eyes and said, "Please, just let him sleep here, okay?"
"My king, what are your orders?" Jiang Shuang responded from outside.
"It's okay." Tao Yuan answered while covering Lei Yuan's mouth tightly.
"Look, look, he's already asleep." Tao Yuan whispered to Lei Yuan.
Lei Yuan glanced at Qu Li's face and thought that he was quite happy that the little round-faced boy at home didn't come with him, but now a round-faced brother-in-law has come. Does it mean that all people with round faces are unlucky for him?
Tao Yuan put the sleeping Qu Li on the bed, covered him with his small quilt, then ran back to Lei Yuan and kissed him hard on the face.
Tao Yuan pushed Lei Yuan down, lowered the curtain, took off his pants, and sat on Lei Yuan's thighs.
Lei Yuan spread out his hands and watched Tao Yuan's movements.
