Tao Yuan was going to the Border Star Cluster to help debug the new surface-to-air weapon control programs so they could be officially put into use. Mai Wei was supposed to go with him, but he received a temporary mission and couldn't go with him.

The second installation location was on the top floor of a cylindrical building. The elevator was under maintenance, so Tao Yuan and his team had to take the elevator to a certain floor and then walk up to the top floor. The stairs leading to the top floor were a bit narrow, so the soldiers had to help Tao Yuan get the instruments and equipment he needed.

Vic strode in with his soldiers, carrying the instruments and tools Tao Yuan needed. He stood beside Tao Yuan and said, "Let's go. I'll take you upstairs."

He simply wanted to be with him as a friend, to help Mai Wei protect him when he was no longer around.

He thought that if Tao Yuan treated him the same way as he treated ordinary acquaintances, he would just watch over him and protect him silently, and he would be satisfied. Tao Yuan raised his foot to go over, but Fei Qi stopped him again. Fei Qi was about to speak when a man suddenly appeared from behind Tao Yuan, walked past Tao Yuan quickly, and pressed Fei Qi against the wall. With his back to Tao Yuan, he said, "Go back to the room first. I'll talk to him."
