"Alright, same old thing!"
Little Fire shook his head and obediently followed.
When they emerged from the woods, the city guard was already waiting outside with his men. Upon seeing Ye Lingtian return safely, he immediately stepped forward and bowed.
"Heavenly Emperor! Has the evil spirit been vanquished?"
"Yes, it's cleaned up!"
Ye Lingtian spoke calmly.
"However, there may still be some remnants. Increase patrols and report any unusual activity immediately!"
"Yes! Thank you for your help, Heavenly Emperor. I will certainly obey your orders!"
Ye Lingtian didn't say anything more, turned around and left with Xiao Huo, his figure disappearing into the horizon.
"Master, where are we going? That Chaos Messenger seemed like a scout. Could there be other demonic strongholds nearby?"
Little Fire asked as it flew.
"possible!"
Ye Lingtian said calmly.
"However, let's go back and organize the clues first, and see if there's any bigger operation in mind!"
"Alright, alright, but Master, could you let me do a few more next time? It's over after just warming up, it's not enough!"
"We'll talk about it when you perform well enough!"
"Oh dear, don't just say that! I actually did a pretty good job this time! Next time, you really have to let me take charge on my own!"
"Small fire, be quiet!"

Ye Lingtian remained noncommittal and walked straight toward the city gate.
The guards' eyes lit up when they saw him, and they quickly stepped forward to salute.
"The Heavenly Emperor of the Nine Heavens has arrived! Your subordinates have failed to greet you properly!"
"What's the situation inside the city?"
Ye Lingtian asked, his voice neither hurried nor slow, yet carrying an air of authority.
"Reporting to the Heavenly Emperor! The people in the city are safe for the time being, but there have been several strange phenomena recently, which seem to be related to evil spirits!"
The guard spoke respectfully.
"Especially last night, someone saw a dark figure on the Tianyun Tower in the south of the city, but when we rushed over, we found nothing!"
"Tianyun Tower?"
Ye Lingtian frowned slightly.
"There's a barrier there, so why is there a dark figure?"
The guard's expression changed.
