Then, the two stepped into the void once more.
The immortal mountain where the Jade Cloud Sect is located stretches like clouds, with mist swirling among the peaks and cranes flying about.
Ye Lingtian and Xiao Huo stepped out of the void and stood in front of the Jade Cloud Sect's mountain gate.
As soon as the disciples saw them, they immediately stepped forward and bowed.

Soon, the group arrived at the Spirit Pool of Beishan.
Several disciples of the Jade Cloud Sect were guarding the outer perimeter. Upon seeing Yu Changqing and Ye Lingtian arrive, they immediately bowed.
"Heavenly Emperor, this is the Spirit Pool!"
Yu Changqing pointed to the pool not far away, his tone solemn.
"That black aura is emanating from the depths of the spirit pool!"
Ye Lingtian nodded, raised his hand and waved it gently, instantly dispelling the surrounding black mist and revealing a array pattern deep within the spirit pool.
The patterns emitted a faint light, but upon closer inspection, the light subtly revealed an evil aura.
"Master, these patterns are really strange!"
Xiao Huo jumped off Ye Lingtian's shoulder and leaned over the edge of the pool to take a closer look.
"This light doesn't look good at all! Do you think a demon might have sneaked in and altered this formation?"
"That possibility cannot be ruled out!"
Ye Lingtian said in a low voice.
"However, the structure of this formation is not unique to demons; there may be another reason behind it!"
"Is there something else going on? What should we do then?"
Little Fire licked its paws.
"How about I try breathing some fire first? If it really is something from an evil spirit, we can just burn it to the ground!"
"No need!"
Ye Lingtian raised his hand to stop him, then turned to look at Yu Changqing.
"Sect Master Yu, do your sect's records contain any information about the purpose of this formation?"
"There are some scattered records!"
Yu Changqing took out an ancient book and handed it to Ye Lingtian.
"This formation is said to have been left behind by our ancestors to suppress some kind of being, but we have yet to decipher what it is!"
Ye Lingtian took the book, flipped through it for a moment, and then his gaze sharpened slightly.
