Chapter 245 One after another

"Master, is this a complete solution now?"

Little Fire jumped onto Ye Lingtian's shoulder, looking smug.

"However, do you think there might be a bigger conspiracy behind this place?"

"The evil forces from beyond the realm never cease their advance!"

Ye Lingtian said calmly, his gaze coldly fixed on the distance.

"This is just part of their plan!"

"Oh dear, Master, you're being too profound! Anyway, no matter what tricks they pull, with you here, what do we have to be afraid of!"

Little Fire flicked its tail, its eyes filled with admiration.

After Ye Lingtian and Xiao Huo emerged from the ruins, they stood on a desolate plain. The surroundings were deathly silent, with only occasional gusts of wind stirring up withered grass clippings, making the scene all the more bleak.

"Master, these extraterrestrial demons are really annoying, one after another, they never stop!"

Little Fire wagged its tail and jumped onto Ye Lingtian's shoulder.

"But to be honest, that guy was all talk and no action; he wouldn't stand a chance in a real fight!"

"What do you think its purpose is?"

Ye Lingtian asked casually.

"Purpose? What other purpose could there be? They just want to cause some chaos and make our Three Realms uneasy!"

Little Fire flicked its tail.

"These guys always use the same tricks, constantly pulling dirty shots, but we always end up beating them half to death!"

"No, it's not just about creating chaos!"

A hint of coldness flashed in Ye Lingtian's eyes.

"These demons have been probing from the very beginning. Their goal is to find the key to breaking through the defenses of the Three Realms, and the altar we saw earlier was just a cover!"

"What! Master, are you saying that the altar was just a decoy?"

Little Fire's eyes widened.

"So what is their real plan? Is there an even bigger conspiracy?"

"Very likely!"

Ye Lingtian nodded slightly.

"I can sense that the power of that demon was incomplete; it was guiding something!"

"Tsk, these guys are like persistent ghosts!"

Little Fire jumped off Ye Lingtian's shoulder and dug a few times on the ground with its claws, as if venting its anger.

"Master, what do you suggest we do next? Should we go back to that gray-robed man? I don't think he's up to any good!"

"He's a decoy, used to delay my actions!"

Ye Lingtian's tone was cold.

"However, he's useless now!"

"Should we still settle the score with him? This guy cheated us!"

Little Fire gritted its teeth and swung its tail loudly.

"Let me go, I promise I'll find him!"

"Need not!"

Ye Lingtian waved his hand.

"His mission is accomplished; going to see him now is just a waste of time!"

"So what do we do now? We can't just go back like this, can we?"

Xiao Huo blinked, looking somewhat bored.

"How about we go to Great Xia City and take a look? I heard there's been some trouble there recently!"

Ye Lingtian's eyes flickered slightly, as if he was thinking for a moment, before he nodded.

"Alright, let's go back and take a look!"

Upon hearing this, Little Fire immediately jumped up excitedly.

"Great! Master, I knew you'd agree! Let's hurry up and go, maybe we can even catch some excitement!"

Ye Lingtian didn't say anything more. With a flick of his finger, a spatial rift slowly opened. He stepped inside, and Little Fire followed happily behind him.

...

The streets of Daxia City were bustling with noise.

The cultivators in the city gathered in small groups, whispering among themselves.

"Master, look, there really is something wrong here!"

Little Fire jumped out of the spatial rift, stood on Ye Lingtian's shoulder, and looked around.

"These people all look so worried and their brows are furrowed; something's definitely wrong!"

Ye Lingtian glanced around and his gaze fell on a group of cultivators who were talking.

He walked over casually, and the cultivators, sensing his presence, immediately stopped talking and looked up at him.

"Your Majesty the Nine Heavens Emperor!"

One of the cultivators recognized Ye Lingtian and quickly bowed in greeting.

"You...you're back!"

What happened?

Ye Lingtian asked directly.

"Your Majesty, recently, strange and malevolent energy has been frequently appearing in the ancient well in the southern mountains outside the city. We suspect it is a conspiracy by extraterrestrial demons, but we have been unable to find out the specifics!"

The cultivator hurriedly spoke.

"We tried sending people in to investigate, but everyone who got close to the ancient well disappeared without exception!"

"An ancient well?"

Ye Lingtian's gaze sharpened slightly.

Where exactly is it?

"It's right at the foot of Nanshan Mountain, not far from the city gate!"

The monk quickly pointed in a direction.

"Your Majesty, if you were to intervene, our Great Xia City would surely be safe!"

"Master, this sounds pretty eerie!"

Little Fire jumped onto Ye Lingtian's shoulder and scratched its head.

"But isn't this your specialty? Let's go take a look!"

Ye Lingtian didn't ask any more questions and turned to walk towards the city gate.

Little Fire skipped and hopped along behind him, looking excited.

"Master, do you think there might be some treasure hidden in that ancient well? If there's anything good, we should collect it beforehand!"

"Enough with the nonsense!"

Ye Lingtian said coldly.

...

At the foot of Nanshan Mountain, the ancient well stands quietly amidst a patch of withered yellow grass, surrounded by a thick, eerie aura.

The wellhead was shrouded in a black barrier, from which a faint purplish-black light could be seen flowing.

"Master, this place is indeed filled with an eerie atmosphere!"
